OK, I absolutely adore this outfit, but let's be honest, it is a little much for an office job. So I did wear a plain black blazer with this ensemble through the work day to tone it all down a bit, and waited until after-hours to bare my striped out best.
Top: J.Crew boatneck (worn here - sim, steal, sim)
Skirt: Asos multi stripe w/curved hem (worn here - sim, sim, wider stripes)
Necklace: Ann Taylor pearl & pave cluster (worn here - sim, steal, rhinestoned)
Bracelet: Ann Taylor pearl & pave cluster (worn here - sim, gold)
Ring: F21 cutout geo set
Shoes: Zara cap-toe court (worn here - sim, w/bow, pricey)
Bag: Coach poppy flight in metallic mirror (worn here - sim, sim)
Ooooh! Love this! It's pattern mixing at its finest! I do see how some might think it too much for work, but I say rock the stripes! (Btw, you and stairs! How lucky for you that this architectural feature has awesome lighting in both your old home and new. I'm so jealous!) :D
ReplyDeleteI know, with the stairs! I actually prefer to take pics in the backyard but the deck is covered and too dark and the rest is all grass, so if I'm in heels, it doesn't work so good stomping holes/sinking into my lawn!
DeleteLOVE this look!
ReplyDeleteThank girl!
DeleteI feel like my work would totally love it but it would have to be a day that is more relaxed and without clients in the office. I think it is totally fun!
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean - I totally keep the day's schedule and proposed activities in mind when I get dressed in the mornings. Part of why I take so long, hehe.
DeleteSo so pretty!

Your skirt is very pretty!

What an unexpected cut on the skirt!

Aw thanks!
DeleteI love this outfit too!!! I think a black blazer would be perfect to make it more office friendly!
ReplyDeleteI know, otherwise the folks at my work may think the circus is coming to town, hehe.
DeleteI LOVE this skirt! I always have trouble with sizing at ASOS. How did you find your size in this compared to your usual J Crew size?
ReplyDeleteI usually order one size up in Asos items as they are European fit and smaller than US sizing. So I'm typically a 2/2P in JC and usually order a 4 in Asos. However, this skirt I ended up getting in a 6 since there is zero stretch in the materials and I didn't want it too tight. Hope that helps!
DeleteI LOVE THIS. I love that skirt. I love it with the striped top. It looks like a super fun dress because of how you put it together! I'd love to see the "toned down" version of this too. :)
ReplyDeleteMy inner Rainbow Brite freezes up at the thought of toning anything down, hehe, but I think next I'll likely pair this skirt with a black t-neck or denim shirt to keep it simple and let the skirt shine on its own.
DeleteI love this outfit too!!! Those are some awesome stripes!
ReplyDeleteI also love your "action" shot!
xo,cynthia
I think I was doing my "look at me, being all sassy " pose, haha!
DeleteI love this look!! the stripes blend into each other!!

I know, I love it! ;o)
DeleteI do the same thing with some of my louder outfits--add a blazer or cardigan to tone it down until quitting time :) This is such a fun and pretty outfit! I love the colors in that skirt.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much, girl!
DeleteThis is so pretty! I love the colorful stripes. I think a blazer would subdue it just enough but I wish you could have worn it as is!

Aw thanks!
DeleteI adore this outfit too and would've done the same and worn a blazer to make it a bit more toned down.

Thanks!
DeleteI would totally wear this outfit to work without a blazer, screw toning it down. That is, if I weren't so boring lately. I love the colours and stripes with that big chunky pearl necklace. Maybe you've inspired me to step it up a little, we'll see. :)
ReplyDeleteYou look radiant - and I have to say have the ability to make stripes work together like no other blogger.
ReplyDeleteKudos!
Thanks much - though I probably have more stripes than most other regular people, hehe.
DeleteI am so in love with this skirt!!
ReplyDeleteGreat pattern mixing, is this considered pattern mixing since it is the same pattern??? LOL
Have a great weekend
Brett
Haha, I know what you mean about the pattermixing thing - it kind of is but isn't. ;o)
DeleteI am with you... I also adore this outfit. Sooo good. I would also wear it in the office without a jacket, but we don't have any strict rules on clothing.
ReplyDeleteGreetje
Thanks so much! We don't have any strict rules either at the office, but I figured since there was a lot going on with this outfit, I didn't want to "overwhelm" anyone, haha.
