I pretty much can't say no to a striped top, so this one was a natural addition to my already over-striped family. I like the heather grey and the medium-weight knit so much I wore it two ways on the same day.
And OK, enough is enough with the stripes? Uh, well, I may have also bought the Gap version of this top with the camo panel ...
(And my "secret" to keeping my curls? Curl it with the iron, then hairspray the hell out of it and do. not. touch. the head for the rest of the day. No pokey, no touchie, no nothing.)
Top: J.Crew stripe-sleeve (sim pricey, camo)
Skirt: J.Crew (sim, sim, as dress)

Shoes: Guess kissani (worn here - sim, platform, point-toed)

Jacket: Old Navy lightweight tie waist (worn here - same in camo, sim, sim)
Top: J.Crew stripe-sleeve (sim pricey, camo)
Jeans: Old Navy distressed boyfriend (worn here - same patched, deal)
Necklace: J.Crew coated stone (worn here - sim, sim, sim)

Stop being so dang cute. Seriously Lisa. ;)
ReplyDeleteHaha, aw, thanks!
DeleteThat is a great shirt! I love it both ways and especially love the purple shoes and turquoise ring.
ReplyDeleteAs a fellow stripes-obsessed, I can see the appeal of the top. (Really, just about anything stripes for the most part!) Love the curls on you, btw. :)
ReplyDeleteTrue!
DeleteI adore your hair and the stripes are perfect. If you look good in stripes, why not wear them? and you can't wear the same thing EVERYDAY so you need more than one item in stripes!

Stripes for every day of the week! Huzzah!
DeleteARGH! The camo print one is uh-mazing! But no, no, NO! I cannot shop anymore because I already blew my budget at Target just two days ago. Sigh.
ReplyDelete"Over-striped family" - you crack me up, girl! And I say if it works for you, you can never have too much of anything. Why, stripes could just be your signature look, you know? The way I'm trying to make cobalt blue mine? Yeah, I'm an enabler... ;p
Stripes, or gingham, or leopard print ... I'm becoming a collector!
Deletelove both looks, so classic. Love that tee.

So cute! I love how you show multiple ways to wear an item.
ReplyDeletewell i pretty much coulnd't keep curls because i am constantly touching my hair! i love your stripes!
ReplyDeleteMe too! But this time I pretty much shellacked my head and do not touch it at all, even when it "felt" unwieldy.
DeleteLisa - Thank you for more outfit inspiration. I have a pair of leopard-print loafers in an online shopping bag that I haven't hit "Place This Order" on yet, but after seeing them on you, I just may do that. Sometimes I just need to see someone wearing something for me to visualize how I would. I also have a similar turquoise ring that I bought years ago, but haven't worn much. I was considering giving it away, but now I may keep it. Always enjoy your posts!
ReplyDeleteI Google items all the time to see if I can find pics of people wearing the item - blogs have become so helpful in this regard!
DeleteWhat an adorable top! It speaks to me with my stripe obsession! The only way I can get curls to stay in my hair is also with a can of hairspray :)

Hairspray is about the only hair product I'm good with, hehe.
DeleteI love both looks!! That is such a cute top! Love how you styled it dressed up and casual...also your accessories are spot on. Loving that ring and that purple bag!

This top is so cute! Love your curls too =)
ReplyDeleteGreat sweater, worthy addition to your wardrobe. I like it styled both ways, witht he jeans and the beautiful skirt. Miss a bit of colour near your face. Still your dark hair got all the attention this way. Especially with the curls. You made me laugh with your do not touch no hokey no pokie no touchie hahahah. Funny!

I may be pretty good dressing myself now, but I am still way behind on the makeup front. Concealer and a bit of brow pencil are pretty much all I use right now - I wish I could work the whole eye makeup and blusher deal.
DeleteI cannot resist stripes, either. Cute top! Great curls!
ReplyDeleteJenni
I'm a fiend for stripes too; tops, flats, dresses, everything.
ReplyDeleteI love this top; it looks like you layered two different tops and it's great.
You can never have too many stripes! Ah... I envy your curls! I really like the pops of purple with the navy! Yay for pops of spring color!
ReplyDeletexo,cynthia
adorable! i use this word all the time here. must get a thesaurus! :)
ReplyDeleteHaha - I've noticed I use "fabulous" a lot. Everything's fabulous!
DeleteYou can never go wrong with stripes. I seriously thought the necklace was part of the top! Great looks here Lisa!
ReplyDeleteI love stripes too!! Great combo :) Casual yet accessoried :)

Love it both ways!
ReplyDeleteI have the same stripe addiction. What can I say, it's a sickness. But seriously...so cute. I love both ways you've styled it up here.
ReplyDeleteStripes are way too addictive! You look great both ways in this top. Very cute!
ReplyDeleteI, too, have a bit of an obsession with striped tops. They're just so endlessly versatile!
ReplyDeleteAlso, I love the pink heels you have on here--that particular shade of purpley-pink is just so pretty.
You've got those fabulous shoes on again and a matching bag! I guess they make any outfit :). Also I agree with your post on the target collabs, I find many cute items but never buy any. My main issue is that they all come in polyester and rarely come in petites. Plus, by the time I get to the store, I've already seen the prints a billion times. Oh well, I did almost break down and buy some of the liberty of london home stuff.
ReplyDeleteI do wish I didn't miss the Liberty of London stuff. I always bypass the home offerings and some of that stuff is really good!
DeleteThat top is so cute! I had totally thought that you were layering a grey tank over the striped shirt, but NEVERMIND. Very cute, and I love it with the skirt!
ReplyDeleteOur over stripe family must be cousins...I can't say no to them either. Please don't tempt me with the adorable camp version!

The camo version is way thinner than this version. I'm on the fence about keeping it right now. But it is awful cute ... argh!
DeleteThat is such a cute top! I like it dressed up with the skirt and dressed down with the jeans - looks really comfortable and practical :)
ReplyDeleteAway From Blue
so cute! and it looks completely different when wore with a different bottom. nice!

I love it! It looks cool, dressed UP or down!

That top looks great dressed up or down!
ReplyDeleteWell, I don't think there's such a thing as "over-striped." Such cute ways to style that top and your little crossbody bag is great!
ReplyDeleteNice styling! Striped tops are so versatile... You can never have enough :)
ReplyDeleteSeeing that radiant orchid color everywhere! I guess Pantone was right when they called it the color of Spring. Such a gorgeous shade! I'm right there with ya on the curls. My hair is naturally wavy/frizzy/a lion's mane. I wore it down last night for a dinner date and sprayed the hell out of it. I can't touch it or else the curls break apart and get frizzy and straggly. Those women that can toss their curls and run their hands through it? Yeah, that'll never be me.

Lisa, love the stripe both ways equally, perfectly done in each set. Love the choice of orchid, it is so pretty!
