Striped Sleeves, Two Ways

striped sleeves striped sleeves

I pretty much can't say no to a striped top, so this one was a natural addition to my already over-striped family. I like the heather grey and the medium-weight knit so much I wore it two ways on the same day.

And OK, enough is enough with the stripes? Uh, well, I may have also bought the Gap version of this top with the camo panel ...

(And my "secret" to keeping my curls? Curl it with the iron, then hairspray the hell out of it and do. not. touch. the head for the rest of the day. No pokey, no touchie, no nothing.)

  3. As a fellow stripes-obsessed, I can see the appeal of the top. (Really, just about anything stripes for the most part!) Love the curls on you, btw. :)

  4. I adore your hair and the stripes are perfect. If you look good in stripes, why not wear them? and you can't wear the same thing EVERYDAY so you need more than one item in stripes!

  5. ARGH! The camo print one is uh-mazing! But no, no, NO! I cannot shop anymore because I already blew my budget at Target just two days ago. Sigh.

"Over-striped family" - you crack me up, girl! And I say if it works for you, you can never have too much of anything. Why, stripes could just be your signature look, you know? The way I'm trying to make cobalt blue mine? Yeah, I'm an enabler... ;p

    1. Me too! But this time I pretty much shellacked my head and do not touch it at all, even when it "felt" unwieldy.

  8. Lisa - Thank you for more outfit inspiration. I have a pair of leopard-print loafers in an online shopping bag that I haven't hit "Place This Order" on yet, but after seeing them on you, I just may do that. Sometimes I just need to see someone wearing something for me to visualize how I would. I also have a similar turquoise ring that I bought years ago, but haven't worn much. I was considering giving it away, but now I may keep it. Always enjoy your posts!

    1. I Google items all the time to see if I can find pics of people wearing the item - blogs have become so helpful in this regard!

  9. What an adorable top! It speaks to me with my stripe obsession! The only way I can get curls to stay in my hair is also with a can of hairspray :)

  12. Great sweater, worthy addition to your wardrobe. I like it styled both ways, witht he jeans and the beautiful skirt. Miss a bit of colour near your face. Still your dark hair got all the attention this way. Especially with the curls. You made me laugh with your do not touch no hokey no pokie no touchie hahahah. Funny!

    1. I may be pretty good dressing myself now, but I am still way behind on the makeup front. Concealer and a bit of brow pencil are pretty much all I use right now - I wish I could work the whole eye makeup and blusher deal.

I love this top; it looks like you layered two different tops and it's great.

  19. I have the same stripe addiction. What can I say, it's a sickness. But seriously...so cute. I love both ways you've styled it up here.

  21. I, too, have a bit of an obsession with striped tops. They're just so endlessly versatile!
Also, I love the pink heels you have on here--that particular shade of purpley-pink is just so pretty.

  22. You've got those fabulous shoes on again and a matching bag! I guess they make any outfit :). Also I agree with your post on the target collabs, I find many cute items but never buy any. My main issue is that they all come in polyester and rarely come in petites. Plus, by the time I get to the store, I've already seen the prints a billion times. Oh well, I did almost break down and buy some of the liberty of london home stuff.

  23. That top is so cute! I had totally thought that you were layering a grey tank over the striped shirt, but NEVERMIND. Very cute, and I love it with the skirt!

  31. Seeing that radiant orchid color everywhere! I guess Pantone was right when they called it the color of Spring. Such a gorgeous shade! I'm right there with ya on the curls. My hair is naturally wavy/frizzy/a lion's mane. I wore it down last night for a dinner date and sprayed the hell out of it. I can't touch it or else the curls break apart and get frizzy and straggly. Those women that can toss their curls and run their hands through it? Yeah, that'll never be me.
