I've been seeing a lot of other bloggers sporting black, white and bright pink lately, which has always been a favorite color combo of mine. Black and white is a no-fail combination and the bold pink adds a nice touch of playfulness. Plus I think it's a great visual contrast to these dreary bone-chilling grey days.
So I had to jump on the color bandwagon and am sporting my cas'd out version of it. Plus there's nothing wrong with wearing sequins past the holidays, right? Even after a full work week into 2014, I'm still kind of in mental denial that all the festivities are over and that we're working our way into another new year. Time flies!

I've already said this, but January needs some sparkle. I think that's my motto for this month. So sequins are definitely ok! Sequins any time!
ReplyDeleteSequins is all year long baby! : )
ReplyDeleteWe all need a bit of sparkle and magic added to our days.
bisous

You can never have too much sparkle in an outfit! Especially during cold and dreary January :)

ReplyDeleteI really like your monogrammed necklace! Black/white/pink is a great color combination and I love it with the shiny pattern-mixing!
ReplyDeleteSequins and sparkle are a must in January when everything else is so dreary!
ReplyDeleteYou're right!
DeleteI'm probably not the one to say when is the best time to stop wearing sequins..I think I have a sequin addiction and tend to wear them all year. I love this look on you today and I'm glad you made the leap!

Are you kidding [I think you are :-)] -sequins are always in! I really like the way you styled this. I just ordered a pink vest and I already have this polka dot top. Outfit idea! Thanks.

You're right, sequins ARE always in!
DeleteI've been noticing the pink, black, and white, too. It's always been one of my favorite combos. I like that you made it even more playful by mixing the stripes and the dots in black and white and then adding the pop of pink on top of that. It has lots of personality and is so fun. And I agree - if it's gloomy out or if I feel gray, I try to trick myself into thinking things are sunny and carefree by dressing that way. It does help!

It was bleary and wet this Saturday, so I "battled" it by wearing neon yellow.
DeleteStill got wet though. ;o)
DeleteLovely Outfit ,you look gorgeous :)

Polka dots, stripes and a touch of bright pink:they really work together! And I also like your red necklace...confortable, cool outfit!
ReplyDeleteLISA! You're back! And stunning as ever! I'm digging the polka dotted sequins. If I ever get a raise, I'd totally raid J.Crew. And you know what? I think you've just inspired my next week's blog theme! ;p
ReplyDeleteI love inspiring things without knowing, haha.
DeleteTime certainly does fly, but I've never felt like sequins were meant for holidays only. Sequins are fun, pretty, and meant to be worn all year, at all times.
ReplyDeleteChic on the Cheap
I like the way you think, lady! ;o)
DeleteI might have to try this color combo out myself--I tend to gravitate toward red as an accent color with black and white.
ReplyDeleteLove the polka dots + stripes!
I think pink is a nice way to be softer on that color combo. I also like black, white and reddish-orange.
DeleteI love how you layered and worked with different patterns and textures- I need to attempt to do this more! Love black/pink...such a popular combo!
ReplyDeleteVery lovely outfit!! love~!!

ReplyDeleteThat scarf looks so cozy! Personally, I think sequins are appropriate any time.

Love how you worked with this J.Crew top here!!!
ReplyDeleteIt's still the Holidays because my tree is still up! I love the sequin polka dots. It's very playful. Hot pink/black/white is my favorite color combo!

I just took down my decorations this weekend. Which is a record considering one year I left my tree up until April! ;o)
DeleteOh my gosh - I was at a coffee shop yesterday and there were no less than 6 women sporting black and white with pops of bright pink. Six! I couldn't believe it. Now, I wonder if I would have noticed it if I hadn't just read your blog that morning. And who came up with the idea first, anyway? Who started the trend? A person? A magazine. So interesting. Love your take on the "trend"!

I guess January is inadvertently black, white and pink month, haha.
DeleteLisa, I love this bright, eclectic outfit. Crazy about the sequins and stripes, and the dash of pink is so necessary this time of year! Great look, as usual!

Love it!!! I have both shirts - need to pair them like this!
ReplyDeleteI have that sequin top, too. It's amazing how versatile it is - it's truly a staple in my closet. You wear it well, and I agree that black + white + pink is perfect!
ReplyDeletemorepom.blogspot.com
It strangely goes with a ton of stuff, doesn't it? ;o)
DeleteLove the sequin top - I bought the Factory version in black w/white dots and white w/black dots this fall. I sized up to a M so I could layer it over a white Factory Stretch Classic dress shirt. This works well with wide-leg trousers and platform heels, or Retail Minnie's (full-length for me) and either flats or Martina Suede Wedges.
ReplyDeleteOoh, great styling idea! I think this top would be fab with some trousers.
DeleteI love how you put sequins, stripes, and color together in one look and it is till casual chic! great styling!
ReplyDeleteLove this color on you!
ReplyDeleteLove the sequin top!
ReplyDeleteLook good, Lisa! And good to see the sparkles past the holidays! ;)
ReplyDeleteI kind of wish I had gotten the white version of this top now, I think it could be worn in more seasons!
DeleteI admit, the first title to this post I came up was "pink lady" from the movie Grease!
ReplyDeleteyour necklace is great! should be follow each other? let me know and I'll follow you back

Hello Lisa :)!
ReplyDeleteA little late, but I wanted to wish you a very good year 2014 :)...
You know me I have a great passion for your outfits and though I'm on a blogging hiatus I still remember you very well :).I like the playfulness of this outfit, but as I was strolling a bit through your blog I saw the 'Asheville Green' outfit and wow I was like:'That's me,that's exactly how I like to dress!'
The look is very elegant and smart, yet so perfectly sexy!
An outfit where I say:'Hm,I sure do look all smart and oh la la,but underneath it I'm one sexy thing :))!'
I hope you get me :)!My best friend always laughs when I say this about an outfit.
Anyway,I simply love it :)!!
I send you a strong hug and I wish you all well!
XOXOXO
Black, white + pink never goes out of style.
ReplyDeleteMust re-create this. I love B+W plus any other bright color, especially Cobalt, Hot Pink & Yellow or Mustard (like I am wearing today).
