Not Guilty
The great Christmas-New Year holiday countdown continues tick tock tick tock and though I'm done with my present purchasing, I have yet to wrap a single thing. Plus I plan to do some traveling over the next week or so and determining what to pack for three locations has been a bit of a mental challenge - don't even ask if it'll all fit yet, I haven't gotten that far!
One thing I do know is that as we inch closer and closer to next week, my mind slips further and further away from the capability to do anything productive at work (sorry, work). Granted I look forward to seeing family and friends and sharing in cozy warm togetherness, but I really like the idea of being off work for an extended period. At the same time that pretty much everyone else I know is off work - i.e., new projects and requests don't pile up in my absence and my last days off won't be riddled with worried thoughts of what am I going back to?
(Those of you who have to work between Christmas and New Year's, I feel for you. I've been there myself flying back on Christmas day so I can be at the office on the 26th and it isn't so awesome. However, the office shenanigans that ensue during that week of lackluster work can be awful fun ...)
I'll look forward to fa la la-ing the chilly mornings away under the covers and guilt-free afternoons spent reading / sharing in good treats / or shoot, even staring off into the distance while I twiddle my thumbs if I feel like it. 'Tis the season!

I love the subtle red and green touches! 'Tis the season, right? :)
ReplyDeleteI didn't even think about it, but yes, it is vaguely holiday-esque!
DeleteGreat outfit! I love that you were able to incorporate so many details but you still look so put together!
ReplyDeleteLove the layering.

I started wrapping yesterday during Elodie's nap. I could do the rest now whilst she naps. Or I could nap myself!
ReplyDeleteStill haven't wrapped a thing yet, though I did put a gift card into one of those gift card holder boxes - does that count as wrapping? ;o)
DeleteI love this whole look Lisa!
ReplyDeleteI love all the layering you've got in this look! I wish I had time off for the holidays but I just get Christmas Day and then it's back to work, boo.

Clothes & Quotes
I love this! You look SO cozy. I'd like to live in that outfit right now. I don't know why I didn't buy any maternity leggings...That was dumb. But now that I'm only 3 weeks away from being done I feel like it's just as dumb to buy any more maternity clothes. I may have to break down...
ReplyDeleteAnyway, I hope you have a wonderful holiday week with family & friends! I'll be one of the "lucky" few stuck at work. I only get Christmas & New Year's day off. Pretty shitty considering I could use a week off now more than ever.
Boy, that was a lot of complaining in one comment! Coffee hasn't kicked in yet... :-)
When my sister was pregnant she bought one pair of maternity jeans and one pair of maternity leggings and pretty much lived in them!
DeleteObsessed!!!!! Love the plaid sleeves, vest, chambray!!!!!! <3
ReplyDeleteYou lucky duck. I only get Christmas Eve and Christmas Day off. I hate going back to work the day after Christmas! I do love your layers thought. Great use of the chambray button down and plaid! And vest too!
ReplyDeleteBut the office will likely be nice and quiet on the 26th!
DeleteI'm pretty much off for the next two weeks so Friday can't come fast enough. I've had plenty to do here with new insurance plans so I'm staying busy but also looking forward to staying at home.
ReplyDeleteLove the outfit - you look so holiday festive without being overdone. :)
I just want to enjoy this time of year, and stop all the rush that goes with it! Fun layers today Lisa!
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean - just slow down and enjoy it!
DeleteI have the time off between Christmas & New Year as well...and I CAN'T WAIT! It will be so nice to enjoy the holiday rather than endure the craziness before I have to rush back to the office!
ReplyDeleteHave an awesome holiday Lisa! You're going to have so much fun! It's great being off for an extended period. I've experienced both. You are right! Nothing gets done. HaHaHa. Love your tartan top and vest. Looks so good together.

I am living in my quilted vests, plus I can wear them indoors and not feel completely weird, like I would if I was walking around all over the place inside with a big puffy jacket on.
DeleteNot being able to focus on work? That's the story of my life over the last week! I am so ready for vacation time...only two more days! I love all of the layers in your outfit today Lisa!
ReplyDeleteI know!
DeleteLove the vest!
ReplyDeleteI'm in the same boat--done with all my shopping but have yet to wrap a single thing. I keep counting down the hours until Friday afternoon when I'm off for Christmas...
ReplyDeleteTick tick tick ...

I remember traveling on Christmas. I didn't find it to be that bad, although my flight was always really short. Good luck at the airport. You always smash it up layering the excursion. In a most excellent way!
ReplyDeleteTraveling on Christmas day is not too bad, but it felt weird to wake up that morning, tell my parents "Merry Christmas" and then have to leave. And then to be at the office starting on the 26th with not a whole lot going on because everyone else is pretty much gone ...
Deletelove this outfit! especially obsessed w/ your necklace! love it so much!
ReplyDeleteI'm definitely with you; it's impossible to be productive with Christmas right around the corner! But this is the perfect "almost Christmas" look! Loving these layers and the necklace! :)
