So I was kind of excited about this big ole sweatshirt I picked out from Choies. The lacy hem originally was a little longer than I preferred, so I sewed the trim up a few inches, then proceeded to romp around town on Sunday in it - wearing it to brunch with some blue heels, then casual-ing it up with some boots and a colorful scarf for the afternoon. Then it was way too easy to grab it again for some errand-running after work one day.
And I didn't have to suck it in once.

Love oversized clothes too!
ReplyDeleteI got a few tees from Anthro that are oversized and i love them.
I'm all for clothes fitting well, but roomy ones are so nice!
DeleteSuper cute looks and I love all the different ways you've styled this!
ReplyDeleteI love a good over-sized tee or sweatshirt. It hides all my postpartum woes and if the fit is right, still looks good! Love the bit of lace on your sweatshirt. Lots of fun combos, I especially like the one with the scarf.
ReplyDeleteAnd a good thing about wearing a sweatshirt made of completely unnatural fibers? Doesn't breathe well, meaning it's oh so warm in the cool weather!
DeleteReally cute! I too have a hard time pulling off that "meant to be oversized" look. And, I have been obsessed with lace hems lately! I plan to do another post about them soon as I have acquired yet another sweater with one!
ReplyDeleteAs a fellow shorty, I have the same problem! I have to accept that I'll never look lithe in oversized clothes, but I love them anyway! It's a really cute shirt!
ReplyDeleteI've got kind of broad shoulders anyways, so lithe is never a look I could achieve!
DeleteYou rock this oversized one so much Lisa.....looks so fun & chic due to the accessories you put together!

I LOVE oversized pieces...mainly because I can wear them with leggings. :) This oversized striped sweater is fabulous...so cute with the chambray layered under it.

Stretchy pants are the bomb!
DeleteOversized tops with leggings have been my uniform lately! That sweatshirt with the lace is adorable. And you seriously have a gift for accessorizing.
ReplyDeleteI have a love hate relationship with oversized clothes. Love how they feel, hate how they look. You are right, they always look good on super tall, leggy thin gals.
ReplyDeleteMy favourite look of yours is with the leggings and the blue heels.
Have a great weekend!

I'm with you. This is probably one going to go down as one of my best overall looks, but I was oh so comfy!
DeleteOh cute sweatshirt! I really like how you shortened the lace, I like it better this way. All three looks are great!
ReplyDeleteAhh...I love it! The lace trim is so cute. I love it with leggings and high boots and a scarf. I would wear that outfit every weekend!
ReplyDeleteSoooo comfy ...
DeleteOversized is great. It's so comfortable! And your sweatshirt is flatteringly oversized, not like some of the stuff I wear around the house. I'd be embarrassed if there were a fire and I had to flee my condo...
ReplyDeleteOh yeah, if I had to go flee out into the street in the middle of the night, better watch out!
DeleteGotta love an oversized top! This Choies option is so cool…stripes and lace…too cool.
ReplyDeleteThat is such a cute oversized top on you! :) the lace detail is adorable :)
ReplyDeleteI'm a big fan of oversized pieces too, just so much more comfortable! haha! :)

Lisa, you look super chic in your over sized sweatshirt! The lace hem is darling. Ya know...I am relatively tall but always feel like a giant hulking football player in big clothing. Maybe the proportions on over sized clothing needs to be spot on to make it work? Like what you just did with this outfit. It's perfect on you!

I always feel like a kid in bigger clothing, haha.
DeleteSuch a cute sweatshirt! I love oversized clothing too--they instantly make me feel more relaxed.
ReplyDeletei love the lace hem. i'm tall and can't pull off oversized looks. they make me look to bulky. i already have broad shoulders, so i come off looking like a football player. not good for a woman. lol

I have the same problem, so I've got to be careful!
DeleteYou accessories are sooo on point! love!

Great piece! I love all the ways you styled it. I love when you put multiple styling options in one post. Have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteI find that you have a personal, elegance and for that reason, you can wear whatever you like! Your bigger-than- needed T-shirt is very nice and your sparkling ring is a beauty!
ReplyDeleteAw, thanks! No one has ever mentioned me and "elegance" in the same sentence before! ;o)
DeleteI really, really like the lace trim on your top! It definitely makes the whole outfit stand out!
ReplyDeleteI definitely think the same thing about oversized clothes! The lace is so cute, and I love your boots!
ReplyDeleteYes for oversized tops! I'm also short and have the same attraction to slouchy things. I think hemming it was a good decision! Your accessory choices are gorgeous. And yay for cute outfits that don't require sucking in. :)
ReplyDeleteFood baby happy.
DeleteI hear you on the oversized clothes. They always look sloppy on me. This sweater looks great on you and I love the fun jewelry paired with this.

I definitely like that you opted to shorten the lacy hem... good call, Lisa. And I like this look on you. It's sporty chic!! Definite winning look in my book. :)

I love this outfit! I know what you mean, I'm 5'1 so oversized clothes sometimes make me look like I'm drowning in them. You really pull this this one off well, though.

I love oversized clothes because they kind of feel like socially-appropriate snuggies. I feel like I'm walking around in a hug!
ReplyDeleteCase in point, I bought a super-soft jersey maxi nightgown at Target, a size too big. I now wear it around the house like a muumuu and never want to take it off. Sigh.
this is such a cute and casual outfit lisa! i adore it on you!! i love that peek of lace hem at the bottom.. so sweet and pretty! :)
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely stunning all 3 looks. Love that striped sweatshirt. All your jewelry is beautiful & I love the blue shoes.
