If I didn't have this thing I go to sometimes called "work" I would pretty much live in t-shirts every single day. (Business casual environment there). My designated "t-shirt drawer" in my dresser is crammed full, but I can always make room for more, because there's no such thing as enough t-shirts, right?
So of course I jumped on it when the folks at Skip N' Whistle offered me an opp to try a tee from their collection. Skip N' Whistle is a New Orleans-based company who designs and screen prints their own tees - and they've got a plethora of quirky designs to pick from.
And when wearing a quirky tee, I figure everything else would need to have a bit more personality to make it all work - so I added a lippy necklace with bling, a mirrored purse, and some bold colors.
Blazer: Cartonnier via Anthropologie flipside (worn here - sim, sim, deal)
Top: c/o Skip N' Whistle
Skirt: J.Crew no.2 in double serge (worn here - sim longer, cotton)
Necklace: c/o Choies diamonds & bead lips
Bracelets: YuniKelley (sim), F21 (sim), Asos
Shoes: Sole Society desirae (sim, sim, pricey)
Bag: Coach poppy flight bag in metallic mirror (worn here - same mini, sim, larger)
Outfit inspired by A-P.

How cute is that necklace! I love how you styled your Skip 'N Whistle tee with a pencil skirt and blazer!

LOVE! what a fun combo. I need to try :)
ReplyDeleteBecause only you, my fashion hero, can make tees look so elegant and sophisticated! Funny, coz I was just thinking to Google "how to bind your breasts" because my girls always make me look dumpy when I try to rock the tee, and here you are, making it work regardless. Fashion on, my friend!

It's probably because I don't have much in the way of "girls." Haha.
DeleteI can live in tees. I hate ironing and tees are so comfy. These days, there are so many varieties of tees that I can dress up and how cute it is for you to pair the necklace with the tee.
ReplyDeleteAnything I can tumble for two minutes in the dryer to de-wrinkle and not iron, I'm in!
DeleteOh I loooooooove me a good t-shirt too! This one is PERFECT!!! I'm a hippie girl at heart for sure. I love the way you've business-ed it up with the pencil skirt and blazer!
ReplyDeleteI love how you dressed up the tee with a blazer and heels!

Love, love, love this look! I absolutely LOVE seeing tees paired with pencil skirts or something a little dressier. Love the color of your heels with the coral skirt.
ReplyDeleteThey have a lot of really cute choices!
I love the way you jazzed up this t-shirt. It looks awesome with your coral skirt, and it the fabulous jewelry!

Very cute - i think you rock the t shirt look.
ReplyDeleteI dont own many t shirts to be honest, i've always thought they're not dressy enough and the high neckline does not do me any favors.
I know what you mean - but some of them are soooo comfy! ;o)
DeleteHI Lisa
DeleteI am linking to your blog :)
I love how you dressed up the tee. And that necklace is so quirky and fun!

ReplyDeleteI'm from New Orleans!!! I know all about Skip N Whistle! They have really cute tshirts. Love Yours Lisa! It's great to see a New Orleans company showcased.

NO is still on my wishlist to go visit. Someday!
DeleteI adore pairing t shirts with skirts. In fact, I just bought some more plain basic tees this weekend to do so. :) You look great here! And yes- Peace!
ReplyDeleteToo cute! What a great, casual vibe the tee lends to the outfit. I am definitely more of a "casual-wearer" and love sporty chic clothes, though admittedly, I do not own many tees!
ReplyDeleteLove the lippy necklace above the peace sign! It's perfect! I just checked them out and they have some great cat t-shirts. Which I love of course!
ReplyDeletexo,cynthia
I considered a cat tee but then I wondered if I'd be thought of as a "cat poser" then since I have no cats and I'm actually really allergic to them (which is a shame, such cuties). ;o)
DeleteSo loving those blue suede shoes ! :)
ReplyDeleteI'm so with you on the tee shirt thing, there's no such thing as too many! This is such a great look! How is the shirt with jeans? Is it long enough? Is the material soft? I love a good tee shirt, but I'm a stickler on quality. What do you think?

Fashion Finds on a Dime
The tee itself is Gildan brand, 100% cotton. It hits me about mid-hip is a nice mid-weight material. I don't think I'll have a problem with random holes developing or anything. However, I believe SNW offers other tee options as well, if you're looking for more fitted, softer tees. I can't speak to those, but I'm happy with what I've got. Hope this helps!
DeleteIf I didn't have to work, I would never get dressed. I would be wearing pyjamas and yoga gear all. the. time. So it's probably for the best that the odds of winning the lottery are against me.
ReplyDeleteI struggle with incorporating more casual pieces into my work wear. I find I end up looking sloppy. Yours totally works though!
Yeah but if you won the lottery, think of all the pimped out PJs and exercise gear you could get! ;o)
DeleteI love the accessories you chose for this outfit, particularly the bracelets. Such a pretty combination!
ReplyDeleteYou look great Lisa! I love the idea of dressing up a T shirt with a pencil skirt and accessories. It's the perfect happy medium of being casual, yet a little dressed up. Your accessories as always are awesome too!
ReplyDeleteI never would have thought to do a patterned tee with a blazer and pencil skirt! Love! You look great. I love the sass you added with the fun jewelry. You look so pulled together and cute. Well done! : )
ReplyDeleteJenni
hiding a comfy tee under a pencil skirt and blazer is the way to go. no one will ever be the wiser, you look totally ready for the office!
ReplyDeleteChic on the Cheap
The necklace got a lot more comments than my wearing a reg tee!
DeleteI love a good tee - I agree that you can never own too many. The pencil skirt, blazer, and great accessories really elevate the tee - it's funky and fun. :)
ReplyDeleteI dont own too many tees since I like to spend my clothing money more on clothes I wear more often. This is such a fun tee and your necklace - need in my closet :)

Agree. Once can never have enough white, black, or graphic tees. :)
ReplyDeleteGreat T! I love pairing a good T with a skirt. It's so chic.
ReplyDeleteLee
Very nice combination of colors!
ReplyDeleteCute t-shirt, and love it with the lippy necklace!
ReplyDeleteYou bought the shoes! YAY :) Double yay for a tee + relaxed blazer for a business casual environment. You look great, Lisa!
ReplyDeleteYou sold me on the shoes! They were the best-looking option, IMO, and the price was pretty good. Plus, they are actually comfy!
DeleteI couldn't agree more about t-shirts. I have one drawer full.
ReplyDeleteI love the colours you've chosen again. They really pop.
bisous

Love this look! All of the colors work perfectly together. I love doing T's and pencil skirts. I paired my T with a blazer today too!
ReplyDeleteI love the graphic tee with the pencil skirt. You look really pretty!

ReplyDeleteThat necklace is definitely a fave...it's just like the Lulu Frost version! =)

I picked this one just because it looks like the original - but the original was too expensive for my taste.
DeleteLovely tee! I really like the tee and pencil skirt combination. Like you, I love tees, but don't wear them as much as I'd like as some days I have to dress up more for the office.
ReplyDeleteAway From The Blue
I'm the same way - though I've "snuck" in tees before as shells under a blazer and trousers. Something plain and clean.
DeleteSuper cute! And so excited about Skip N' Whistle - such cute stuff!
ReplyDeleteLisa,
ReplyDeleteI love this quirky outfit, it really works! All of the elements, and colors are unusual. It takes real talent to put this together, I just love it.

T-shirts and me do not agree, so I hardly have any.
ReplyDeleteGreetje
PS, I like the outfit best with the jacket.
DeleteI'm a sucker for a good logo tee and I love the way you added a sparkle necklace to glam it up. I'm going to try this on my Barbie and Blondie shirts.
ReplyDeleteI'm a sucker for a logo tee so I love the way you added a sparkle necklace to liven it up. I am going to have to try this on my shirts.
ReplyDeleteI love T-Shirts too and lately I love dressing them up with Pencil Skirts or other Skirts like I did a couple of weeks ago. This is an outfit after my heart. Loving all the Cobalt pieces. Again, I need some Cobalt or Royal Blue Pumps. As always your jewelry is the perfect icing to an already super gorgeous outfit cake! =)
