Cozy in Stripes
I hope everyone in the Southeast is home safe and staying cozy warm! We had fewer than two inches of snow - which befuddled my pup and was really fun for a while - but it got kind of crazy as temps dropped, roads slicked up, and everyone pretty much tried to get home all at the same time.
Problem when you live in a city where it snows like once every three years? We've got minimal ability to clear the streets of the slush and I pretty much do not trust a single person out there in a motor vehicle, they don't know what they're doing. (Though I bet they're thinking the same thing of me, haha). But honestly I am hoping everyone's well and warm, I've never seen a traffic snarl like this before!
I'm going to be in Uggs and a hoodie all day (working from home, thankfully we don't do that whole "videoconference" thing - egads), so I leave you with a cozy outfit I wore recently one weekend.
Sweater: J.Crew buttoned boatneck (worn here - sim lighter, knit, as dress)
Shirt: Lands' End canvas gingham poplin (worn here - sim, sim, deal)
Jeans: Old Navy sweetheart distressed (worn here - sim)
Necklace & Earrings: Purple Peridot clear crystal (the original, sim)
Rings: F21 square set (worn here - sim)
Shoes: Anne Klein qadira (worn here - sim flats)
Bag: J.Crew claremont (worn here - sim, smaller)

I LOVE your jeans cuffed with the heels Lisa! That is just such a cute little touch!
ReplyDeleteThis is the only way I can pull off skinny jeans!
DeleteLove this! That necklace is so pretty.
ReplyDeleteTracy @Its Mostly About Fashion
Those shoes are fabulous!
ReplyDeleteSuper cute outfit! Even in snow-prone areas, the first snow tends to throw everyone in chaos! Stay safe and warm!
ReplyDeleteChaos indeed!
DeleteI love the mix of stripes and gingham! I saw some photos of the South with the snow/ice yesterday and I couldn't believe the traffic jams!

Well, we don't do anything half-assed. If we're going to make a mess, we're going to make a big one, hehe.
DeleteI really need me some nude heels like that Lisa......looks comfy to me even with the height!

They are actually pretty comfy!
DeleteI love the gingham and stripes together. Very polished casual look going on here!
ReplyDeleteStay warm today. We've had snow almost since Christmas with frigid temps and more snow on the way. I'm ready for it to go away now! My Aunt lives in GA and it took her over 4 hours to go 16 miles last night...4 hours! I think she was in rush hour or the mass traffic you were talking about! Wow...stay safe!
4 hours? I think she was one of the lucky ones, haha.
DeleteOh, Lisa! All the individual pieces are rendered so cohesively - it's visual perfection. That statement necklace is the icing on the cake. Lurve.

Lisa, I love this outfit-the mix of stripes and gingham is one of my favorite looks! I live in the South also and we got quite a bit of snow. Stay warm!
ReplyDeleteI haven't fallen down yet!
DeleteWhat a fabulous casual outfit.
ReplyDeleteNow you have a taste of our awful weather. Misery loves company you know : )
You have the right idea. Stay home and stay warm. By the time this winter is over I will have gained 20 lbs and an undercoat of fur.
bisous

When I'm home, all I want to do is eat too!
DeleteYou have the power to make casual look so classy!
ReplyDeleteAw, thanks!
DeleteI really like the coral and blue together, especially along with the pattern mixing! Stay safe and warm!
ReplyDeleteLayering for the win! You look amazing as usual!
ReplyDeleteLove the stripped sweater c: Xx
i thoght my 3 hour drive was awful until i read the horrors of others. glad i'm home safe and sound
ReplyDeleteI think I got home before the worst of it, but I didn't have to traverse the interstates either. I couldn't believe the folks who still weren't about to get home even by the next morning, that's crazy!
DeleteThose jeans look great on you. I would not have guessed they are Old Navy! Might have to give them a try. Love the color of your sweater, too. It looks so good with the gingham!
ReplyDeleteI've found a few pairs of jeans recently at ON that fit pretty well. Plus they're cheap!
DeleteI like that necklace and the earrings. Great outfit.
ReplyDeleteI totally understand why places that don't get a lot of snow shut down when it does. I grew up in Calgary (snowy, long winters) then moved to Vancouver for university. Lots of Vancouverites have no idea how to drive in snow, there are lots of hills and there seems to be a ton of rear wheel drive vehicles there. Not a good combination.

True! It was fine and all when it was just snow, but then the temps dropped and literally everything froze over!
Deletei love the stripes and chambray together and those jeans look amazing on you!
ReplyDeleteMooie outfit! Zo gaaf je schoenen. :) xx

Deleteyou look super cute but uggs and a hoodie sound really comfy!! :)
ReplyDeleteUggs - soooo warm and comfy!
DeleteI really love this outfit--definitely one of my favorite color combinations!
ReplyDeleteWe had quite a time of it today and yesterday with the two inches of snow...I ranted a bit about it my most recent post. Suffice it to say that I am back at home with my pups (oh, and my husband too).
I'm just glad no one lost power!
DeleteOh gosh - what a nightmare. So glad you are home and safe. Love your outfit post but Uggs and a hoodie sound perfect right now. Stay warm!

Love the stripes/gingham combo! Old Navy jeans have come a long way in terms of fit and fabric quality for price. Hope you are staying warm! I finally bought my first pair of Uggs this winter and love them on chilly days... wish I had bought a pair long ago, but better to jump on the train late than never at all, right?!? ;) Have a great day!
ReplyDeleteI've been surprised with Old Navy jeans too - I bought three pairs this season and adore them all. Plus they're cheap!
DeleteHope you stay safe and warm at home with all of the snow!
ReplyDeleteI love the printed shirt layered with the stripe tee, such a nice casual outfit :)
Away From Blue
Loved this outfit. Especially since I'm a huge fan of stripes, hehe! :) And your blog is awesome, got yourself a new follower!
ReplyDeleteThanks, girl!
DeleteGingham and stripes is always a winning combo!
ReplyDeletelove the stripes here!!
ReplyDeleteWe're doing our absolute best to stay warm too! Here in Indiana they're not super prepared either. Not like Michigan and New England, so we get trapped in our house from time to time by the snow.
ReplyDeleteI'm surprised by all the folks who couldn't make it home - it's crazy!
DeleteYour coral/navy striped sweater works so well with the gingham shirt. Love the combo! Thanks for the inspiration--going to try it out sometime!
ReplyDeleteHooray for stripes and gingham, two of my favorite things! And I still can't believe how crazy it's been in Georgia. Hope you've been staying safe (and warm)!

I'm just glad the power never went out - that'd be a mess!
DeleteHey Lisa! Your necklace and earrings combo is amazing :) It adds such a great touch to your outfit!
ReplyDeleteThey don't always manage to stay on top of things even when you do live somewhere that snow is regular and expected! Glad you get to stay safe inside and work from home.
ReplyDeleteLove the stripes and gingham together, such a cute mix!
