Camel Gift

camel plaid

This is may sound weird because I pretty much shop as a hobby all year long, but I along with gifts for the fam and close friends, I also like to gift myself every Christmas.  I know the last thing I should be thinking about over the holidays is myself, but with all the good deals going around, but hard to pass some things up. Plus I've worked hard to earn my own money, so why not?

I don't usually buy anything over-the-top, nor do I wrap it and put it under the tree or anything, but I tend to mentally designate one (or two) items as "I shall give this to me." This year I have self-gifted the claremont tote and even "splurged" for the monogramming (monogrammed orders take up to two weeks to complete, so I am patiently waiting for my UPS guy).

Do you ladies gift yourselves over the holidays? What's on your personal wishlists?

  1. First off, I agree with you 100%. You obviously work very hard for the money you earn, so you totally deserve to treat yourself.
Also, how cute is your outfit!! I want to try something similar for myself now with my own J.Crew sweater (the Parisienne one) and my green plaid shirt. So thanks for the inspo.
Finally, the transport tote from Madewell is on top of my personal wishlist, and since we're going to the States again this Christmas, I'm planning on getting it then! Squee!

    1. The transport tote is awesome - if I didn't already have something similar, I would be snagging that myself. Have fun on your travels!

  3. My ratio of Christmas presents to myself versus everyone else is slightly out of control. True confession!

    1. Haha - probably me too. That's probably why I don't designate the other purchases as gifts, haha.

  4. I just ordered myself some earrings today when I was ordering a gift for a friend on Accessorize. Free delivery as well so I figured why not? It's normally something small like that if I do to be honest but it still feels nice :)

  6. I think there's nothing wrong with gifting ourselves as well! I just bought myself a faux fur snood as my little gift to myself.

  7. I love the collection of rings and the outfit is super cute.

My husband and I don't buy gifts at Christmas, instead we each get to choose our own presents. Sure there is less surprise or excitement, but thankfully I'm not left holding some jean jacket covered in white leather fringe that I hate (one of the first Christmas presents he ever gave me and I had to figure out how to tell him just how much I hated it).

  10. I have a good understanding with my family and friends, we don't really give each other gifts anymore. We much prefer to get together and cook and eat, or go out somewhere and eat. While I don't specifically make it a point to give myself a gift, I do buy myself things on the pre-Christmas sales. I like what you do, though, maybe next year I'll save up and consciously give myself a nice gift. :)

    1. My friends and I give each other more "stocking stuffer" type things than real-deal gifts, more as a gesture than anything. I like the idea of doing something more as an experience for everyone, then everyone gets to enjoy!

  13. This is the first year that we will not be spending Christmas with my parents, so I'm in a slight Scrooge mood. Our tree is up (only bc we decided to put it up in our finished basement last year and I never took it down.....Oops. Add that to my Scroogeness/Laziness). I have picked up a couple things for my husband, and my mom, but that is as far as I've gotten. My online shopping for Moi however.....bring on the deliveries Mr. UPS Man!!! Oops again. I'm usually the one who loads up the presents for everyone else under the tree, but since we won't be home on Christmas Day to open.....never mind!! So shop away sister!! You deserve to splurge on you!! ;)

    1. I visited my parents over Thanksgiving and we trimmed their tree. I honestly don't even think I'll be doing anything decorative at my own home, so that may warrant a glass of wine and little online browsing ... ;o)

  14. I don't gift myself anything over Christmas but that sounds like a tradition I'd like to start! But don't get me wrong - I definitely took advantage of a few Cyber Monday deals so that probably counts as my gifts :)

I don't intentionally gift myself over the holidaze, but once in a while, I do. Even worse, once in a while, I buy something I really love for a friend, and then. uh, I keep it. Yes, I do buy a replacement gift :P
