From Warmer Days

navy floral  navy floral

I guess I am ready for it start getting cooler around here, because whether I like it or not, it finally is. Which means of course I am getting the sniffles. And I've shut off my AC, readied my excursion vest(s - got some new ones from the Factory store), pulled out my big fluffy comforter, and am craving nothing more than gooey grilled cheese sandwiches (swiss, please) with creamy warm tomato soup.

So I better show you a look from warmer days - last week - before it becomes too seasonally inappropriate. I'm looking forward to dinning this dress again soon with tights, ankle boots and maybe a cozy cardigan.

  2. It's freezing here but I'm not quite ready to give up summer so I'm totally throwing on tights and sweaters with summer dresses. :)

  3. Absolutely YES to looking forward to all your fall favs! I thought I'd have more days with the AC and heat off, but nope, it's gotten cold enough that I've already turned the heat on.

How do you find the Factory excursion vests compared to the retail store versions? Similar in sizing, worth the $?

    1. Hi Cee -

Sizing and looks-wise, the factory excursion vest is just the same as the retail excursion vest from last year, so they run a bit large. The retail version from last year feels a bit more substantial, though the make-up is 100% poly with 70% down filling, while the factory is 100% poly with 60% down filling.

I got my factory versions on sale and used my rewards card so I got mine discounted, though I think they are worth it. They're still kind of boxy, but a better fit than most puffy vests, and I wore the one I had so often last year that I didn't think twice about getting the factory ones. HTH!

  4. I publish my outfit posts so late sometimes that an outfit from three months ago may appear when it isn't weather appropriate to wear that outfit currently. So yay that I am not alone. :)

Love the LE dress on you, OMG, so pretty with your coloring.

  5. Weather in Toronto has gotten very cold and there is no way I can wear a dress with bare legs anymore. (Sad...)
Love the outfit, and the belt is especially amazing!

    1. I've been known to wear no socks and bare legs in the winter. Figure on work days, I'll be outside all of 5-10 ten minutes?

  8. Such a pretty dress and I am drooling over the belt. It's still warm here but it's pretty chilly in the early morning and nights. And chilly I mean 50s. :)

  9. wow- great belt for that dress! I have so many backlogged outfits I should just have a rolling slideshow somewhere along the bottom. sigh. Anyway, it's nice to see some legs and pretend summer is just around the corner again.
We should have a pretend summer party in the middle of winter- my sister and I used to lay out rows of blue sleeping bags, turn on every light, and blast Beach Boys while we read magazines in our swimsuits...

    1. I live in the SE so I probably shouldn't ever complain about the cold, because our winters are nothing like the winters I used to live through in the NE! I don't even have a full proper winter coat!

  11. The print on that dress is so pretty! It has gotten freezing here...it was in the 30s this morning, ack! Ironically we still have our AC units in the windows, time to take them out.

  12. I actually had to wear a winter coat yesterday : ( Talk about depressing. Maybe I was overreacting or maybe (which I think is probably more likely) I'm more susceptible to the cold the older I get. At any rate it was fleece lined tights with a winter coat yesterday and boots. AND I got sick 2 weeks ago now and am still fighting it off...

Remind me...how many months till Spring?

That print is and your bare legs are mocking me.

    bisous

    1. I live in the SE and I literally will see people out in their puffy North Face jackets when the temps hit below 70 - that's a bit overboard.

Hope you're feeling better soon - I feel like I've been on the cusp of getting a cold for a few weeks now too.

  13. Pretty dress and KILLER shoes! I love that you wear that belt with patterned items. I'd have no idea how to wear it other than with something solid & I LOVE both ways you styled it. So creative & so perfect!

We're still enjoying mid- to high-60s here but it's all gonna change next week. I'm soaking in these last few days of warm weather because I'm pretty sure I won't see it again at least until March!

  17. I love this dress! It could definitely be transitioned into fall with a chunky sweater or perhaps a leather jacket. That belt is so intricate and matches the dress perfectly!

  18. Coincidentally, I made grilled cheese and tomato soup for dinner tonight! Ha!
The love the colors and print of this dress--so pretty!

  21. I always panic around this time of year thinking oh no, summer's gone and I meant to wear stuff that I never got around to ... am about to post some out of season outfits too.

You look fab in that dress!

  22. Such a cute dress! May I suggest an orange cardigan or sweater to make it more autumnal? (Uh, and apparently I've transformed into an 80-year-old lady... :P )

  23. We dropped from 80 to 60 overnight here, so I've been enjoying a week of cool air and open windows. I'm giddy to start layering and wearing tights. I feel like the weather is thanking me for my never-waning efforts of ushering in the fall season with slow-cooker recipes, hot cider, and the Halloween decor around our apartment. Anyways, that dress is a lovely vintage print and that belt looks utterly made for it!

  30. the print on that dress is so pretty! Glad you got to share it before it got too cold, and while I love a good grilled cheese, have been baking up a storm, and making soup all weekend, I do not like this cold weather, at all.
