Can't Stop: Floral and Stripes
I hope you ladies in the States had a nice relaxing holiday weekend! There were loads of good sales these past few days - did any of you gals score something lovely? I only bought one thing - a lovely embroidered chambray dress from Madewell when they had their 20% off promo. I spent the vast majority of the rest of my long weekend eating too much, playing with my pup and everyone else's and catching up on new video releases - thank you, Netflix and Redbox.

Cute outfit! I've always loved this floral print. Thanks for reminding me to wear this maritime blazer! You showed tremendous restraint to only buy a dress this week with all the sales! I was bad and placed 3 goodsized jcrew orders. Hopefully I'll hate it all:)
ReplyDeleteThere were some awful tempting sales this past weekend! I don't blame you, girl!
DeleteAhahahaha! My hubs and I did a good movie watching session of our own. What did you see?
ReplyDeleteI only bought the stuff that was in my eBay cart with credit I had from returning other things I'd previously purchased then returned from eBay. It's getting to be summer and I need to tighten the belt for the long haul; teachers don't get paychecks in the summer. I hope I can survive sans shopping for two months!
But teachers get two months of no teaching - awesome!
DeleteWe saw a load of movies ... Captain Phillips, The Hobbit, Monuments Men, and Elysium. I recommend all of them!
Love the stripes and floral mix! The only shopping I did this weekend was an Instagram trade for a floral romper (fingers crossed that it actually fits!).

Ooh, floral romper sounds cute!
DeleteI basically shopped my butt off and then also watched Netflix this past weekend!
ReplyDeleteYou deserve it, girl!
DeleteLOVE that blazer. It looks comfortable as well as fashionable. I also watched a lot of Netflix... No shopping for this girl. :(

This blazer is like a fancy sweatshirt, love it!
DeleteWhy should you stop? When it works so darn well for you?! :) We also had a long weekend in the UK, and the highlight of it was seeing Emmylou Harris live at a venue just five minutes from where we live! We also watched Days of Future Past, which was awesome!
ReplyDeleteOoh, I want to see Days of Future Past!!!!!
DeleteNice pattern mixing! And I like how you matched the shoes and bag.
ReplyDeleteNo shopping for me lately... spent my budget on food in San Francisco last month.
I do love to eat - good choice!
DeleteYour weekend sounds lovely. Ah - but looks like back to work in your blazer. Love the stripes with florals!! I wish we could all have summer vacation like when we were in school. That is the only thing I miss about school - vacation.

So cute. I cannot wait to see you style that chambray dress. I have not purchased anything in a week! Aaahhh! ; ). Seriously, I have medical bills coming next month so I have to be good. But there are so so so many pretty things I would love to buy.
ReplyDeleteI love the stripes and floral together.

Med bills? Oh no, I hope things have been fine!

Floral and stripes is the best combo ever! Love this outfit!
ReplyDeleteI haven't paired this skirt with stripes yet - great idea! I just got Amazon prime and they have different shows what Netflix offers. I just started watching Orphan Black last night and it looks pretty interesting.

ReplyDeleteYour weekend sounds pretty perfect to me!
Love this gorgeous floral and the artful mix of stripes . i It is bright but sophisticated and I am always so impressed how you mix patterns and add some fabulous bling.
ReplyDeleteAlso, I must say this.
Have you turned into a gym rat? Your body is, um, fabulous,I am loving your tone and feeling inspired to get to my own gym a bit more!

Aw, thanks, girl! No gym ratting for me, but for a while I had been bulking (my perception of it) quite a bit, to the point where stuff wasn't fitting me right in the shoulders and arms anymore. I've quit working out every single day but I am looking to (try) to cut carbs and sugars too so I can hopefully continue to development lean muscle tone. Except I loooooooove carbs.
Deletedid that dress work out for you? i wasn't sure how petite-friendly it would be.
ReplyDeleteFor the Madewell dress, I ordered two sizes and am still waiting for the smaller size to come in so I can compare fit. Length-wise, it hits above the knee - I'll share some pics soon!
DeleteFlorals and stripes together are one of my favorite combinations! Love the bright blue too!
ReplyDeleteI love the bold colors in this pencil skirt! You are always so creative with your pattern mixing and accessories...love your style, Lisa!
ReplyDeleteThe sales were amazing Lisa! What's wrong with us? I didn't buy anything. LOL
