Statement necklace for that bit of glam? Check. Colorful skirt? Check. Layered shirt under sweater? Check. Bit of patterning mixing? Yessir. Pop of color? Yep. Bit of edge? Mm-hmm.
Welcome to the standard of personal style blogging outfits. Neverfail. Is work-appropriate and a the right bit of fun. Stands out from the crowd in a good way. Looks good on pretty much any figure. Easy trade of the skirt for some jeans to make it a bit more casual. Makes for a pretty easy go-to.
Whoever thought of this is combo is a genius!

ReplyDeleteLooks like a great winter combo :)
Away From Blue
Thank you for my Friday perk-up. Totally needed the squee. I spilled water all over my work MacBook yesterday and not only have I been off the Internet since then - can we say "withdrawals"? - I'm desperately worried that I'll lose all my data AND have to pay for the damage. You look stunning in this outfit. I want all of it!
ReplyDeleteI accidentally smashed my work phone last year and because at that time my phone was nearly brand new so I had to go buy (i.e., pay for) a new one - booo ...
DeleteThat skirt is so perfect, great work outfit.
ReplyDeleteThat floral skirt is SO GORGEOUS! I can't wait until I can break out the pencil skirts again.
ReplyDeleteYour sweater is such a fabulous color and hello, the bright colors in this skirt scream SPRING! :) Love the ensemble, Lisa!
ReplyDeleteI just need to find that necklace! You wear it so well, with so many unexpected things. I love it. Maybe it is baby grabbing friendly? ;) Great combo. You wear it well!
ReplyDeleteI got mine off a seller on Etsy and I think it holds together well enough to be kid-friendly. Not any hanging swinging bits or anything.
DeleteSo pretty Lisa, this is a genius combo.
ReplyDeleteI wish I had thought of it, hehe!
DeleteI seriously can't get over that necklace. Every time you wear it, or show it on instagram, its like DROOOOOL, gimme!
ReplyDeleteI finally decided to get a version of this necklace because I had seen so many other gals with it and it just never seemed to get old for me - love it too!
DeleteI am absolutely loving this outfit! The colors are spectacular, so bright and Springy! I want it all :-) Definitely going to file this away so I can try to recreate it later. I hope I can get it to look even half as good as you did!

Aw, thanks. But I've seen some iteration of this outfit on pretty much all body types and haven't seen anyone not "rock it" yet! ;o)
DeleteAgreed! Can't go wrong with this formula--that's for sure! I love the bright springy colors too!
ReplyDeleteYou have mastered this type of look! I'm loving your fun skirt.
ReplyDeleteYep, love everything about this outfit! The colors are gorgeous, and I LOVE that skirt! And of course the statement necklace is perf!

Yes, I agree, this outfit complies with all required for a successful blogger outfit :)
ReplyDeleteGorgeous :)
ReplyDeleteSuch a pretty combo! I always love how all those pieces work together, but unfortunately I'm more of a sweater and jeans type of gal on most work days. :) Weekends are the days I dress up!

Weekends are the days I scratch my head and don't really know what to wear, hehe.
DeleteThese colors are so bright and pretty, and I love the subtle pattern mixing. Everything just works, I love it!
ReplyDeleteIt's a great combo. I can't quite pull off the layering of a button-down shirt under a sweater (it ends up looking funny and bulky on me, and I get uncomfortable with too many layers, it's a quirk of mine), so I usually end up with a V-neck sweater with a statement necklace and a pencil skirt. Love the bright blue sweater with the skirt.
ReplyDeleteYeah, there are only certain shirts I can pair well as an underlayer - they've gotta to be lighter weight, have no chest pockets, etc. I've done where I've felt lumpy all day and had to keep fooling with my clothes, no fun!
DeleteI love the way you styled this Lisa! The colors are so gorgeous together. Now I am inspired to do a similar combo with my skirt in this pattern! This is truly one of my favorite prints and there are so many things that look lovely with it.
ReplyDeleteI've been adoring this print for a while now too - glad it came back in the Factory store.
DeleteThis is such a great outfit! You are definitely right about the sweater layered over a shirt with a print skirt. A terrific combination!
ReplyDeleteTo me, the J.Crew tippi/charley sweaters are perfect for layering!
DeleteLove this look! That skirt is gorgeous, and I really like the idea of mixing stripes and florals.
ReplyDeleteI have the Tippi sweater in the same colour and wear it with a colourful skirt too, but I have to admit I am not good at mixing patterns, so I prefer to leave those out.
ReplyDeleteThe thing with pattern mixing (to me) is, just because you can, doesn't always mean you should. ;o)
Deletei agree that this outfit formula never fails and always stands out in a very good way! i wore this skirt this week as well and look forward to pairing it with a cobalty blue sweater and striped button-down the next time i wear it. thanks for the inspiration; this is perfect, lisa!
ReplyDeleteThere are so many pretty colors in this skirt, it'd be easy to play with another color ensemble next time.
DeleteYou look stunning! This outfit is perfect. Love the floral with the stripe and the sparkle. The blue anchors everything and the pop of yellow is fun! Again, you're making me think of a combo from my own closet that I can put together.
ReplyDeleteWe're all here to inspire each other to wear our own clothes in different ways!
DeleteThat floral skirt is awesome Lisa! It looks like a painting! Great blue paired with it.

I'm glad J.Crew came out with a factory version of this print (waaaaaaaaay more affordable, hehe)!
DeleteLove this combo. Happy weekend!

I love that skirt!

I luv the collar under a sweater look too and the cobalt looks beautiful on you!
ReplyDeleteI thought you were the inventor of this combo. Looking perfect. You might have noticed my absence for a while. I am trying to get my social life back. Combining a more than full time job with blogging AND commenting on other blogs is becoming too much for me. I cannot understand how you do it as you have a demanding job and you post even more than me. I will continue to read all your posts, but I will not comment on everyone of them. The love remains the same.
ReplyDeleteGreetje
No worries, I completely understand! I only post 2-3 times a week and my posts have become shorter for the same reasons as you. Blogging and reading blogs take so much time!
DeleteI still cannot resist your posts haha.
DeleteIt is a great combo!
ReplyDeleteI just finally wore this skirt last week (not on my blog yet) and I love this color combo you created! I am pretty sure I have some similar pieces and will need to recreate this outfit. It doesn't get too cold in CA so I don't have much opportunity to layer a button down with a sweater.

Your skirt is so pretty!
ReplyDeleteHaha, yeah, it is the standard of style blogging! It looks fabulous on you though. Cobalt is a lovely color on you.
ReplyDeleteAgreed with pretty much every other commenter--this outfit is killer, girl!
ReplyDeleteMelanie @UnraveledThreads
That skirt is so colorful and fun! I need to brighten up my wardrobe!
