These shoes are my first piece of rose gold-hued anything, and while I think they are a fabulous softer metallic that is very flattering, I don't have a whole lot of ideas on what I can wear with them.
Pairing rose gold with other pale pinks is about all I can think of for now, and the weirdo in me can't settle with the idea of pairing rose gold with regular yellow gold - I know most people likely wouldn't notice at all ... but notice the lack of my usual gold-tone arm bling with this outfit?
You stylish ladies have any ideas on what you think would look good with rose gold? Right now my best idea is getting a purse in a sim metallic hue to help put my OCD matchy-match mind at rest.
Top: J.Crew (worn here - sim, pricey, tunic)
Skirt: AT Loft (sim, longer, steal, as dress)
Necklace: J.Crew crystal collage (grander)
Bracelet: Sweet Auburn Studio via Etsy (worn here - sim, sim, simpler)
Shoes: BC Footwear prepare for landing (sim, as sandal, heels, simpler but pricey)
Bag: Kate Spade (worn here - sim, sim, deal)

I love these shoes, they have such a vintage feel to them! And they are so great with that fun skirt!
ReplyDeleteAnd they're comfy to boot!
DeleteI love your stripes and floral combo! Rose gold is such a pretty shade...I just try and think of it as pretty much a neutral :)
ReplyDeleteGreat idea!
DeleteLove love LOVE this outfit! So pretty and feminine! I do feel your pain on the mixed metals front. One way that I make myself feel comfortable with mixing metals is by intentionally having several mixed in with my bracelets. That way the other accessories are just pulling from what I already have on my arm.
ReplyDeleteGood point, I should try that!
DeleteHi Lisa - I love rose gold, it is so pretty! Here are some suggestions for colors: 1) All hues of pinks and pink-toned florals. The lighter pinks in your skirt are beautiful, but deeper, jewel tones are something to look forward to for fall. 2) Peach! Pastel peach for spring and summer, then move down the color spectrum to richer browns and rust colors. Try metallic coppery peaches too. 3) Green! Again, lighter greens, including florals like in your skirt, for spring and summer, moving to deeper hues in the fall. 4) Turquoise! It's sort of another form of green, but the rose gold really pops against this color. 5) Finally, in regard to other jewelry, websites recommend pairing with copper (but who has a lot of that?) or more muted, antiqued golds so the rose gold stands out and doesn't fade into the background. I've also seen several stacked ring sets and necklaces with gold, silver, and rose gold, which I love. See Banana Republic's Mixed Metals Stacked Ring ($35) and their Slider Necklace ($39.50) as examples. Lord and Taylor sells a set of CZ bezel earrings in gold, silver, and rose gold that coordinate with BR's ring. Good luck! Jennifer
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for your great suggestions, JD! I love 3 & 4, I will need to play around with those combos!
DeleteLove these rose gold sandals! They are gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteI think rose gold is like any other metallic and can be worn with anything since it's a neutral!

I am such a fan of rose gold. I haven't gotten any items of clothing really that are within the hue but those shoes are super striking. I generally treat it as a neutral so have fun with it!
ReplyDeleteSuch a pretty combo of stripes and floral. Love it!
ReplyDeleteNow about rose gold...honestly, I am one of those mixed metals people. I happen to think rose gold and silver or pewter work well together in a non-matchy way.
I gotta just try to intentionally mix metals!
DeleteAbsolutely love the stripes and flower prints together!

I don't know about jewellery but anything that isn't gold will do: plastic? Fabric? Black? Blue? As for clothes: jeans, black.... uhhmmm...(I am a contrast girl which is why I come up with black and blue).
ReplyDeleteSorry dear, you asked and I am trying to comply but you are my superior in styling. So I cannot really help you. Great shoes by the way. Lovely paired with the gorgeous flower skirt and the pink clutch. The striped shirt is a teeny bit too much pattern mixing for me, but you know...that is me, not you.
Greetje
I think the blue is a good idea - and the darker colors would be a nice contrast with the lighter softer metallic pink. Thanks for sharing!
DeleteWow... I said something that was actually of help? I am pleased.
DeleteI would probably pair it with greys and blacks but that's just me. ;)
ReplyDeletePattern mixing at it's very finest! Lovely as always. :)
ReplyDeleteSequins&Stilettos
I like the pink-on-pink. Or, how about crisp white slacks/jeans and a navy or black top?
ReplyDeleteLiz @ www.shoppingmycloset.com
I think that sounds fab - but I am too klutzy to pull off white bottoms, hehe. I am a ketchup stain magnet in white! ;o)
DeleteTo be honest, I have no idea - i have a pair of gold flat gladiator sandals and i rarely wear them because i just dont know how to... I usually go to the when I have a striped dress.
ReplyDeleteI tend to think of gold shoes as a neutral that can kind of go with everything - I think I need to think of that with the rose gold too!
DeleteLisa, I love the way you styled this outfit. I love the floral and the stripe and the beautiful necklace. The rose gold shoes are so beautiful and I think you Combined these just right with the pink bag. I think it is hard to mix one metallic finish with another, so I think you did this perfectly. Kisses, Elle

So you mean what to wear with it jewelry wise? I find that rose gold looks great against stark black or white and the pink hue looks great next to blue.

I think it'd be a nice color contrast with a darker hue and the soft metallic.
DeleteWell, I think you did a great job here and suspect you could come up with many other fabulous ways to wear these shoes without out help. Don't short change yourself - you're an expert stylist in my opinion! And on that note, I can't help. I'd be more lost than you are. Looks like lots of ladies above me are helping you out though :-)
ReplyDeleteYes, I'm getting loads of good ideas thanks to all the ladies!
DeleteThis outfit is practically shouting "Spring!!!!" and I absolutely love it. Hmm, I think the rose gold shoes (which are super cute by the way) would maybe work well with pearl earrings/necklace if you're wanting to avoid mixed metallics. But really they're pretty neutral, I bet they'd look great with anything!
ReplyDeleteOoh, never even thought of pairing with pearl, nice idea!
DeleteThat skirt is too pretty, you look gorgeous :)

PinkSole
i think you did a great job and it looks fabulous with that skirt.

love the combination of floral print and stripes!
ReplyDeletecute & little
What would go with these shoes in my book would be black, navy, whites, just any neutrals I think, red.
ReplyDeleteAlso the lemon and blue in the shirt look good. Not that the skirt doesn't look good, but specifically I think these colours are worth exploring too.
DeleteAgreed, thanks, Sophia!
DeleteI'm also on a rose gold streak lately Lisa. I treat it as a neutral so I pair it with almost any color!!!

I think you did good on the rose gold pairing. I don't anything in this shade since I've got no idea either. Looks like you've got some great suggestions from your readers!

Yes, everyone's been really helpful - I've got loads of good ideas.
DeleteThese shoes are amazing! And they look great with your skirt. I think they are more neutral than you think, and would go well with a lot!
ReplyDeleteThat floral skirt is so pretty! :)
ReplyDeleteI think rose gold is a great neutral! I usually mix my metals often though so perhaps that's why I see it that way? It would look great with any colour really. You could wear them with something plain for a nice contrast, like with a LBD, or pair them with colour like you did here :)
Away From Blue
I'm going to consider intentionally mixing metals, thanks!
DeleteWas just going to post what Mica T said. I'd treat rose gold like a neutral... goes well with anything.
ReplyDeleteOMG I love that floral skirt. And another gorgeous necklace. I just added a pretty floral skirt. I should try it with my striped sky blue oxford. Thanks for inspiring, as usual. <3

ReplyDeleteI love stripes and floral, always a favorite pairing of mine, and as for the rose gold, pink and blush and peach would be the obvious choices, but I'd wear it with anything, including yellow gold.
ReplyDeleteChic on the Cheap
Mixing metallics? the horror! I'm still uncomfortable with navy and black!
ReplyDeleteI love love that necklace...I don't wear a lot of crystal, and that one is so pretty.
