Puffin in Stripes
OK, so my outfits can seem a little borderline too matchy-matchy sometimes, but I can't help it. I'm kind of Type A boderline OCD and I need symmetry - that goes for colors as well. So the reddish-orange from the sweater and skirt are ideal for me - I can draw more of the red hue from it and pair it with red lips and shoes, or make it seem lighter by wearing orange with it (like here). That's my idea of multitasking - plus this sweater has a puffin on it, and who can go wrong with that?
TGIF, ladies - and I, for one, need my weekend!
Blazer: Zara (worn here - sim, solid)
Sweater: J.Crew factory (worn here - sim pear, fox, dog)

Earrings: J.Crew crystal shimmer (worn here - sim smaller)
Bracelets: Asos (sim), J.Crew (sim), Sage K and Co (the original)
Shoes: Audrey Brooke via DSW mary (worn here - sim deal, slingback, flats)

OMG!! This is so adorably fabulous. Unexpected and just plain fun. Love it!
ReplyDeleteThat sweater is adorable. And I don't think there's anything wrong with going a bit matchy-matchy sometimes!
ReplyDeleteI can't shake the matchy-matchy either, but it's not necessarily a bad thing. It shows that you've thought about your outfit and taken the time to put it together. Also, that puffin is just so frigging cute.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Rachel! This means I think about my outfits a LOT then! ;o)
DeleteI like to match, I've never understood what the problem with it is... My eye is immediately drawn to colours that just "go". It often feels like a more coherent outfit to me so I never get people's disdain for "matchy-matchy". That's just me though, I'm no expert :)
ReplyDeleteI'm with you, girl, that's my natural instinct!
DeleteI love this, just enough matching and pattern play.
ReplyDeleteLove the puffin sweater and the ZARA blazer. Great outfit! :) And I hear you on matchy-matchy!
ReplyDeleteThe puffin sweater is adorable! I think matchy-matchy is always in style!

I'm still kicking myself for not snapping up this sweater when I saw it in the store. Of course it sold out quickly, puffins being a very "Maine" bird and all. Loving the stripes/critter combo!

When I saw this sweater, I knew I had to have it. Puffins, yes!
DeleteThis outfit is adorable. That puffin sweater is super cute. I think the way you've combined your accessories and colours here shows just the right amount of whimsy. Love it.

I think we suffer from the same disease. ;) I don't think you look too matchy at all, just nicely co-ordinated. In fact, I love it when people match up subtle details like the beak and feet with the stripes on the skirt, it just looks so harmonious and cute. Speaking of cute, that sweater...! :)
ReplyDeleteWe "suffer" from a lot of the same things! ;o)
DeleteThat's adorable I love matching and symmetry, it's my happy place. No off kilter jazz fusion in my wardrobe!
ReplyDeleteMatchy or not, this works and works well. I love the cute sweatshirt and striped skirt!
ReplyDeleteI love this outfit. That sweater is adorable, and it is matchy matchy in the perfect way. Also, loving that jeweled blouse you layered under it.

Oh yeah, I wear this blouse way to much but I can't help it!
DeleteLove the sweater, and it's even cuter paired with the jeweled collar!
ReplyDeleteI love this sweater and skirt paired together. I don't think you always look matchy-matchy...you have a good balance going on from day-to-day :)
ReplyDeleteFun outfit Lisa. For me it can never be too matchy matchy. I like that. Trying my best to avoid it, but in my heart I prefer it.

PS been very busy. But I am going to look at all the posts which I have missed. Won't comment on all of them, but will definitely see them
Aw, thanks, Greetje. No problem, real life gets busy!
DeleteI am still keeping up with your posts. You are too good to miss. 98 out of 100 outfits you present I love. That is a lot!!
Deletelove everything about this! i'm a matcher, too, so this definitely caught my eye. perfect! enjoy your weekend, lisa.
ReplyDeleteI am in LOVE with this outfit. I love all of the details. The jewels, patches, stripes, plaid, color, silhouette. So cute! I am going to call this look "business fun".
ReplyDeleteOoh, I like that - business fun. I like rockin' business fun!
DeleteYou look great. Very put together!
ReplyDeleteFrockandHound
LOVE this entire outfit! It's not too matchy - I LOVE it!
ReplyDeleteThat is such a cute top! :) I really like all of your matching red too - sometimes I feel incredibly matchy matchy when I wear a few pieces of the same colour, but I think it just helps look more put-together :)
ReplyDeleteAway From Blue
I'm with you, girl!
DeleteThis outfit is NOT too matchy (and there's nothing with being matchy anyway). You have a puffin and a fabulous statement making collared shirt. Plus there's the plaid and nautical combination. I think it's quite unique. :)
ReplyDeleteSincerely, Christine from Invisible Blush
Girl, I wish I had a real puffin, haha.
DeleteI love this, Lisa! It's definitely one of my favorites of yours, matchy-matchy or not :)
ReplyDeleteThe puffin! Adorable. I love the way you classed it up with the sparkles and floral collar. So pretty and feminine!
ReplyDeleteJenni
The puffin sweater with the skirt is perfect! I love the blazer with it too. A great combo and not too matchy-matchy at all in my opinion!
ReplyDeleteLisa, I disagree. You outfits looks harmonious, but there is always an original edge to them that is unique to you-- you are never match match. Love this sweater ! And I am such a fan of stripes!

Aw, thanks!
DeleteI can't believe your button up is from F21, it's so pretty! I don't think your outfits are matchy matchy at all, you nail it every single time! And no, you can't go wrong with a puffin! :)
ReplyDeleteI think this blouse may be my fave purchase from F21, I've worn it so often!
DeleteThis is seriously the cutest outfit I've seen all week. You look gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteCute sweater! I love those heels too. And yes, TGIF! It's been a bit of a brutal week (someone hit my parked car in a parking lot, one of my girls is sick, etc.) so I am looking forward to taking it easy this weekend! :)
ReplyDeleteOh no! I hope you and yours had a fab and relaxing weekend!
DeleteI really like to be matchy too! I have to make a conscious effort sometimes to think outside the box! But I you always look put together and I love all the matching details!

I can relate to your matchy matchy obsession too. I have just now started matching printed shoes with say, an animal top. Like your puffin sweater, it seems easier to match prints with the animals. That's a great start. But I don't think I will ever feel comfortable with matching plaid, florals and or stripes, as an example. I love this outfit by the way!
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing,
Stacey
I don't think you look too matchy-matchy at all! This outfit is gorgeously put together. It is whimsical and fun! I love the sweater and the details on your collar!
