Fit Me Right

ivory

I love how a good blazer can dress up almost any outfit, even if it is plain ole baggy jeans and a tee. I got this blazer during Zara's semi-annual sale over the summer and only recently has it gotten cold enough around here to break it out. And I'm so glad I did.

Being a shortie with broad shoulders often makes it difficult to find reg size off-the-rack pieces that fit me right in the shoulders and don't have super duper long sleeves (what is it with you regular-height people and your long limbs ... ;o)

Especially Zara jackets that often seem cut for those slender gazelle-types, so this one that fit me right is a nice treat. So prepare to see this piece around a lot this season.

    1. I know what you mean by Zara - I think this is the last piece I had purchased from them - nothing so far for this fall has caught my eye much, or looked decent on me.

I have issues with my little short arms too… everything is long!

  5. Haha, it's funny how you point out these flaws on yourself b/c I really don't see broad shoulders at all! The blazer and jeans fit you perfectly, you look fab, fab, fab. BTW, a tip for getting even the cheapest clothes to fit amazing (and not look cheap) is to have tailoring done. Like hemming sleeves of a blazer. Sounds like a hassle, but you won't regret it.

    1. I totally agree with you, tailoring is the key. You're also right though, things that I need to take to a tailor often means they get put on hold indefinitely because for some reason that's one life chore I can't ever seem to do!

  6. You look great Lisa! A blazer is ALWAYS a way to make you feel more polished and add structure to a look, I think!

  8. I have a similar problem with finding blazers that fit properly--I have broad shoulders in comparison to the rest of my frame, so I often will find a blazer that fits in the shoulders, but is huge everywhere else. So glad you found one that works, and a beautiful one at that!

    1. This one probably worked out too because it has no buttons and is meant to be worn open. Nothing like slender-shouldered clothing to make me feel like a troll, hehe.

    1. Thanks, girl! Sometimes I find the time to curl in the mornings - not as often as I'd like though.
