Embellished sweats seem all the rage right now, which is perfectly fine by me since I love any excuse to spend my days wallowing around in soft knit comfort. Especially ones that I can wear to work and to go walk the pup, mulch a yard, eat a greasy burger, then just chuck into the wash and do it all again the next day.
I am really loving Old Navy's sweat selection right now since they've got fun styles in proper this-is-just-a-sweatshirt-after-all pricing, like the wordy version that I wore recently, and the one I am wearing in today's post that I donned for a really cas work day, then changed up a bit for play afterwards.

I love this sweatshirt too, both outfits are adorable!
ReplyDeleteVery cute!
ReplyDeleteI, too, am on the mad lookout for fancy sweatshirts. If my usual suspects don't carry them, what do you suggest I search shopstyle or eBay under? "Fancy sweatshirt"? "Embellished pullover"? Or do you have a secret supplier of 'em you'd be willing to shill?
ReplyDeleteM @ http://myclosetcatalogue.com
Haha, I wish. A load of retailers have them now - for affordable ones, I'd try Old Navy, Lands End, Nordstroms (their juniors line) and Forever 21 has some cute blinged ones. Or try searching Ebay for "embellished" or "jeweled" + sweatshirt should pull up a bunch or options.
DeleteIf I had the talent or patience, a quick trip to Michaels would yield some costume jewels I could just sew or hot glue on to any ole sweatshirt for some custom bling!
Looking at the reviews for this one at Old Navy and can't decide if I want to get a regular M or a petite L. I've got me some linebacker shoulders (15.5" to be comfy without layers) and a 36 bust. I want the option to wear something underneath or wear by itself. Recommendations?
DeleteAnd yes, if I knew how to sew without stabbing myself and bleeding all over the material, I'd bling out some sweatshirts too! Too bad we don't live close - we could host a bling party. LOL.
I am 5'2" tall and ordered a regular size S. I usually prefer to have more length than not enough, HTH!
DeleteBoth styling is a thumbs up! You pullet this looks well. :)

I love these ON sweaters too! Last time I was there they had the gray sparkly polka dot one in maternity but for some reason when I tried it on it just made me feel huge. I've loved many of their other maternity sweaters so I was disappointed this one didn't work out. Maybe it was the way the dots looked more like ovals once I had it on... :-) You look great in both outfits & I LOVE the shirt you layered underneath. I'm a sucker for those ruffle-y collars & cuffs.
ReplyDeleteI'm with you - I love all these embellished sweatshirts. I have my eye on a Target one and I've seen a few more floating around the internet. I think comfortable but dressed-up sweatshirts are every girl's dream come true! :)
ReplyDeleteSuch a cute sweatshirt! I never thought I'd be interested in them after college, but these are definitely fancier!
ReplyDeleteDefinitely a change from those over-sized baggy sweatshirts everyone used to wear back in school!
Deletei dont wear sweat shirts.... however i really cannot stop admiring your earrrings. FABULOSOS!
ReplyDeleteI saw a nice sparkled sweater in J Crew recently but it is way out of my budget.. bummer! You look pretty!

I like the J.Crew ones too but I'm not so hot on spending like $150 on a jeweled sweatshirt that I can't even wash.
DeleteI really like both looks! I like the look of embellished sweatshirts but I am still not much of a fan because of the boxy cut. This sweatshirt does not seem boxy at all and looks great on you.

The two I got from Old Navy aren't boxy - you want to try there for some options. Plus they're always having a sale!
DeleteI'm loving all the cozy sweatshirts, too. Love how you paired this one, Lisa!
ReplyDeleteI just got this same sweatshirt! Thanks for the style inspiration!

I just bought an embellished sweat shirt! The neck on it is weird, but other than that, I love that it's able to be dressed up. LOVE the skirt in the pt. 2 look.

Just wearing a collared shirt underneath and have the collar overlap with the sweatshirt - boom, no weird sweatshirt collar, haha.
DeleteThat sweatshirt is adorable. Old Navy has had so many wins lately!
ReplyDeleteAnd sales! I love that.
DeleteLooks cozy. I have a similar pleated skirt and love it!
ReplyDeleteyour caramel skirt is divine!!! Love the embellishment on your jumper too
ReplyDeleteLove your top! I might have to go check out Old Navy... :)
ReplyDeleteI'm in love with the layers!! Such a perfect combination!

Like two years ago I bought these sequin sweatshirts but I thought that I would never wear them. Then this season happened and I could NOT be more happy with the embellished sweater trend. I love these with your booties!
ReplyDeleteI actually got rid of some sequin sweatshirts from a few years ago because I never wore them. Well now ...
DeleteThat collared shirt is perfect with this sweater! Love how the ruffle peeks out of the sleeves. CUTE.
ReplyDeleteLisa, I am loving the embellishment trend! I bought one from Banana Republic. I love it. Also loving the ruffled collar look. You're on trend girl!!!

Who ever though sequinned spots on a sweatshirt would be trendy? ;o)
DeleteI thought the skirt was a short :) Love the look! really casual and comfy, it's my type go-to and travel outfit. Oh, can you do a version of your travel outfits? I would love to see them :) xo
ReplyDeleteMy travel outfits are mostly sorry sights because I totally dress for comfort. But next time I head out, I'll remember to capture some pics!
DeleteLove this sweater! And I really like how you showed how it could be used for a casual and a dressier look. LUH-OVE the sweater paired with that frilly striped shirt underneath. Pattern-mixing! :D
ReplyDeleteI am a sucker for a ruffly collar!
DeleteI love the way you styled this Lisa! I also like the idea of combining casual and comfy with embellishment. It's the prefect combo!
ReplyDeleteI try to get away with wearing sweats whenever possible and have more than my share of fancy sweatwear. Pretty how you're wearing yours. Very cool.
ReplyDeleteMe too! I have more than my share of ponte knit or jersey dresses too - dressed but oh so comfy.
DeleteVery cute preppy look! I´m loving that embellished sweater. :)
ReplyDeleteLove the collared shirt and polka dot sparkle! I am with you in wearing embellished sweats! I'm wearing a sweatshirt today that looks like a sweater.... so cozy!
ReplyDeletexo, Lee
Cool weather, cozy sweater, perfect!
DeleteSo cute! I absolutely love the sweater :)
ReplyDeleteHey, this is kind of a twist on stripes + dots, isn't it? ;) Love this outfit, especially the sweater. Would never have guessed it came from Old Navy, it looks super blingin', and is awesome for day-to-night too! Though weirdly, the "day" look was my fave.
ReplyDeleteI don't know if I can pull off a sequin spotted sweatshirt as a true night look - let's considers this as more of an at-work, then not at-work look. ;o)
DeleteLove this outfit. You look gorgeous!

Gorgeous sweatshirt, Lisa! Love it with both of your outfits.
ReplyDeleteLeopard shoes are totally fab!
aaahhh i want your bag!! :D

Your striped button down is totes adorable with your popped collar! Layered genius. :)
ReplyDeleteCute! Love your rolled denim and booties too!
ReplyDeleteHow do the embellished shirts hold up to washing? They do however remind me of the then-new option of diy rhinestones in my sister's seventeen magazines. I suppose when we start on our denim i'll know we've come full circle!!
lovely outfit

You look very nice also wearing casual clothes! Lovable sweater...I like you especially in the first photo!!!
ReplyDeleteI like this outfit with the earrings and the jeans. The skirt makes the outfit too "camel" to my taste. I prefer the blue of the trousers. And I prefer the earrings to the necklace. There you go girl. Honest opinion, but only my opinion.
