If I could get by in sweatshirts and jeans everyday, I'd love to be able to do that. And this look is exactly it, but dressed up just a tad so I can step out without looking like I'm studying for finals or am out on a trip to Lowe's for more screws. So I'm secretly comfort slumming but looking like I'm at least trying.
Sweatshirt: J.Crew (worn before - sim, sim hoodie, long-sleeve, long-sleeve cardi)
Shirt: J.Crew blythe (worn before - sim tiny dots, black spotted, red spotted, green spotted)
Jeans: Banana Republic factory (sim, sim)
Brooch: Ebay & earrings worn as brooches by J.Crew, Jeweliq (vintage sim, sim, sim or set)
Boots: c/o Mossimo by Target jessica (sim studded, w/contrast straps)
I think this solidifies that I need to buy some brooches!

I've been on a bit of a brooch kick myself lately - and repurposing big statement earrings work too!
DeletePretty brooches! I love the idea of wearing earrings are brooches :)
ReplyDeleteThanks much - it sure opens up the options!
DeleteNice idea, but how do you keep the pokey end of the earrings from poking you when you wear them as brooches?
ReplyDeleteI did switch around some earring backs so I wouldn't be stabbing myself all day, hehe. I've been using the ones with the rubber/plastic circles around them since they cover more of the post. I also had some little rubber nubs - the ones that usually come with hook earrings - that I put on the ends. It still means don't hug me too tight, but I was able to wear the earrings without drawing too much blood, haha!
DeleteI used to love to wear brooches, but kind of forgot about them. Your outfits lately have inspired me to dust them off. They have the best vintage vibe. Also, statement earrings as brooches? Freaking genius!
ReplyDeleteThanks much! I typically wear a big ole necklace of some sort but haven't really been feeling it lately - the brooches are a nice replacement for me.
DeleteThis is such a great idea!
