Party in the Back
I am always kind of afraid to try new retailers online because there are a load of unknowns, especially when it comes to sizing (what can I say, as much as I like to shop, I sometimes prefer to shop online because I hate trying on stuff in-store).
So I was excited when I was approached by Choies about trying out their site. Choies is an international fashion online store that sells budget-friendly on-trend apparel, shoes and accessories.
Choies took care of my apprehension pretty easily since they offer free worldwide shipping and list measurements for each apparel piece. Great bonus for folks like me who don't trust generic sizing charts.
With any online retailer, make sure you check out return and exchange policies before ordering. My order took about a week to arrive and I was pleasantly surprised. I found a fun new piece that fits me well and it's something that isn't in every store.
Since the tee was frilly in the rear, I thought of making it work-appropriate by pairing it with a slim bottom. And you know me, I can't stay away from an opportunity to pattern mix.
Top: c/o Choies stripe peplum tee
Skirt: Tabitha by Anthropologie olmeda (worn here - sim, sim, as dress)
Bracelets: J.Crew, Yunikelley (sim), Glitterbox Jewelry (deal, sim)
Shoes: J.Crew cap toe etta (worn here - sim, sim, spectator)
Clutch: Cole Haan (sim, sim, luxe)

Lisa this is a great choice! I've clicked through for a look at the top on their site as it is right up my street so to speak. I really love it! x

The Tiny Heart
i really like this top and mixed with the skirt, it is a brilliant outfit! love it! i will have to check this site out. xo
ReplyDeleteBeautiful patterns! And your clutch completes the outfit so nicely. I love online shopping, but only through stores who offer free shipping and returns (Nordstrom, DSW, Target, etc). Otherwise, I usually avoid it because I've run into too many sizing errors!
ReplyDeleteI just saw Sharon from the Tiny Heart wearing an adorable peplum from Choices and now I must go there . . . just to look around of course ;-) This top is so adorable on you Lisa!
ReplyDeleteThat top is so, so much fun!
ReplyDeleteLove this look on you! The pattern and shape make that skirt the perfect companion to that wonderfully mad top! I got badly burned with sizing once, and ended up paying a lot for alterations only to have this dress still not fit me. That made me really cautious, but I do still shop online, just much less frequently.
ReplyDeleteYou look great! And that top is super cute!!

How totally fab and fun!
ReplyDeleteIt's official! I am IN LOVE with this look. I'm sure we will be very happy together... in cyberspace. ;)
ReplyDeleteThat peplum tee is the BEST. So original and eye-catching, and yet also casual and fun. Would it be too short for a long-waisted lady like myself?
Jen @ Librarian for Life & Style
I don't think it'd be too short, but I've only tumbled the top in the dryer to freshen it, I've not laundered it yet, so I am not sure if it will be bad to shrink yet!
DeleteLovely outfit Lisa! You look great here!
ReplyDeleteDying over your skirt. It's so unique and gorgeous. Great outfit, Lisa! Hope you're enjoying your Monday!
ReplyDeleteInteresting top.... and of course marvelous pattern mixing.
ReplyDeleteGreat pattern mixing! I love when online retailers take the time to provide measurements for individual items.
ReplyDeleteI quite love this! The top and skirt work so well together!

Great top, great skirt (and the rest, not mentioning the shoes as that is obvious).
ReplyDeleteCombining them is not what I would have done, but you know I am chicken in this field. Love the back of the top.
I love shopping online too, but sometimes I regret not being able to try things on. That outfit, however, looks killer on you!
ReplyDeleteI love that flair in the back!
ReplyDeleteOMG! Thank you for posting the information for this beautiful top! I ran across this top on another style blog but I could not afford it. I think the original designer is Sacai and the top is carried at Barney's. I think this is a good replica and I will definitely buy this item. Did you have any issues with taxes on the item coming from Hong Kong? I attached a link to the top on the Barney's website.

Thanks,
Thanks for the link, tseabrook!
DeleteNo I had no issues with duties or taxes shipping to the states, though the delivery was via DHL, who required a signature to delivery. The DHL folks were really helpful and nice in rescheduling delivery though.
oh my gosh awesome! I want this whole look!
