I was thrilled to no end to have a full weekend completely to myself -
no work, no appointments, no other people and not a single thing that I
had to do. Even pup was away.
So I spent two days doing ridiculously mundane things that make me happy. Like I got caught up on my Bravo TV shows (Princesses Long Island?
Love!) and blog reading. I vacuumed and wiped down pretty much every
single flat surface in the house. I loofahed. I washed clothes, sheets,
throws and covers. I got my nails did. I went to the market to stock the
fridge and to the most wonderful place on earth - Target. I made enough fajitas for 10 people, for me. I decluttered - kind of (check out my blog sale! New items!). I slept - in the bed, in the guest bed, on the couch. I fell asleep to YouTube episodes of No Reservations. I late night online shopped (and am now expecting this and this. OK, and this). I ate my weight in Pretz and nectarines.
And I did manage to squeeze in some treadmill time, so I am giving myself a high five for a highly successful weekend.
What do you like to do when you've got time for yourself and nothing on the agenda?
Jacket: Gap striped twill (worn here - sim, sim, pricey, pricey peplum)
Dress: H&M (worn here - sim, full skirt, pricey)
Necklace: J.Crew factory chandelier (worn here - sim, sim, over-the-top)
Bracelet: Yunikelley via Etsy (Elisharon giveaway win - smaller, sim, sim)
Clutch: J.Crew factory dorset (worn here - sim, luxe)
Shoes: Vince Camuto bello (worn here - deal, sim, flats pricey)
I'm all for mundane weekends, ours was crazy busy so I'm a little jealous. :) love this outfit, this striped top is my favorite thing of yours.

I love this yellow dress and how you paired it with a striped jacket! So cute! I really enjoy low-key weekends. It sounds like you had a perfect one!

Ah I remember those types of weekends fondly, glad you enjoyed it! Now that we have Elodie I don't get much time to myself so when she takes her nap on Sat/Sun I try to just sit down with a magazine and a cup of tea for some 'me' time. Small thing but makes a big difference :)
ReplyDeleteI love it when I can catch up on all of my guilty pleasures on Bravo. I am addicted to the Real Housewives of New Jersey but I won't allow myself to watch it when someone can catch me doing so!
ReplyDeleteI watch the RHONJ only because I am hoping someone will take Teresa down! ;o)
DeleteOh I LOVE to catch up on the DVR when I'm alone. I get home from work about 2.5 hours before my hubby does and some of that time is always devoted to watching my shows :)

Such a cute dress! Too many things I like to do during "free time" - browse the internet, shop, bake...
ReplyDeleteI love that pretty dress, such a great color!
ReplyDeleteOh I LOVE alone time!!! Yay for you! And it sounds like you were equally as productive as you were relaxed. Well done! When I am in that situation (hardly ever), I like to blare the music and just sit around. It sounds lame, but usually I have 35 people (often little people) pulling on me so it's nice to not have to answer to anyone--even if only for a few hours. I love your dress! It looks great with the striped cardigan!
ReplyDeleteThat dress!! Gorgeous! I love my alone time too, though sometimes I find the need to pencil it in my schedule because life gets so crazy!

That dress is such a beautiful color on you!! On my free weekends I do about the same as you, right down to the fajitas. Just swap in HGTV for your reality TV and we could be the same person. :)
ReplyDeleteOoh, I do love some House Hunters International!
Deletei read and nap. ;) pretty much, i'm a sloth. bwahhaa.

Ohhh, that sounds like the perfect weekend! So jealous. And also, just finally saw Princesses yesterday and might be hooked. Having just moved, I don't foresee a relaxing weekend for some time. :)

I love your yellow and blue combination outfit, Lisa. And your solitary weekend sounds perfect! Reading, closet cleaning, ped's, mani's and cooking are my quiet weekend faves too. :)
ReplyDeleteI need a weekend like this ASAP.
ReplyDeleteSounds like a fabulous weekend! I'd probably do all the same things, except for the cleaning of every surface. That so wouldn't happen.
ReplyDeleteI gotta clean a bit or it drives me crazy and I can't relax!
DeleteThanks for stopping by my blog today :) I love those bright pops of color! Oh, and I think your shade of lipstick is really nice too. Have a great week! A lot of the things you mentioned are what I like to do with nothing to do - watch movies/TV, plan to clean/organize (though I'm so slow and take too many breaks, it does't usually actually get all the way done), maybe try out a new recipe or bake a dessert or something special.
ReplyDeleteYou accomplished a lot! I love your striped jacket!
ReplyDeletexo,
Angela
I would have done everything but the cleaning. I leave that for special days, like the day before relatives or friends come to visit.
ReplyDeleteLove the yellow on you.

ReplyDeleteyou look so chic and I love the make-up.This color of lipstick suits very well!
Oh,I love it when I have time only for myself. It's been like this since I was a child. One thing that I love to do when I'm all alone is watching trash TV :))) and going to some of my favorite shops and being there for hours.Another thing that I like to do is going to McDonalds...but about this one, please don't tell anyone ;)))!
I'm happy you had a great weekend :)!
XOXOXO
McDonald's sausage egg mcmuffin - still my favorite breakfast ever.

ReplyDeleteThe color is Sephora Rouge Shine - No.18. It's a fuchsia, but looks like pink when I only put on one coat.
DeleteI LOVE those weekends! My hubs travels a lot and even though I (obviously) miss him, I love the time to myself, too. :) Sounds like you had a wonderful time!

I'm tired just hearing about what all you did in one weekend. Love that Gap jacket. I remember seeing it in the store.
ReplyDeleteThat would be the most perfect weekend to me, what you did, if I could get all that done! I'd likely only get accomplished sleeping in, catching up on TV shows, trying on stuff from past online shopping to see what stays and what goes, packing up what goes to return, one load of laundry and maybe trimming my nails and making a pot of soup. You did excellent girl and well deserve the high five.
ReplyDeleteCute, cute outfit.
When the weather gets cooler, I love making pots of soup!
DeleteYour weekend sounds like my idea of bliss!
ReplyDelete"Enough fajitas for 10 people, for me" - you are a woman after my own heart. :) Sounds like your weekend was a great balance of productivity and relaxation! Whenever I am left to my own devices, I end up eating chocolate ganache out of the container and reading.
ReplyDeleteThe triple dose of yellow is great - I'm particularly liking the necklace! :)
You sound like you had a very productive weekend! We have the same shoe size and those J Crew shoes are just adorable! Are they comfy?

These aren't the most comfy shoes I've owned, but the stack heel makes it wearable. I just can't wear it on days where I know I'll be doing a lot of walking though!
DeleteI love doing my nails or just vegging out in front of the tv watching dramas or chick flicks :)

I cannot believe this jacket is from the GAP! i a saw a very similar one from JCrew.
ReplyDeleteAND that sounds like the perfect weekend - because you did whatever it was you wanted.
Definitely!
DeleteDamn girl, what a perfect and cute outfit! And that dress is from H&M?! I thought J.Crew for sure!
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear you've had a chance to unwind from all your travels. When my husband and I have a chilled-out weekend together, it involves Victor sleeping in, me making him tea when he wakes up, going into town and ending up at our favourite Japanese place for lunch, then getting Asian food groceries (this time it was udon! Green tea icecream! Shokupan!) and going home to have some of the ice cream on the balcony while soaking up the last bits of sunshine of the day. Perfect! :)
Gwen :)
Wow, I'd love to be able to sit on the balcony eating ice cream too - can I come over? ;o)
DeleteWhat a lovely weekend. This is exactly what I would like to do. Oh and reading magazines on the couch in my T-shirt with no make-up on. Hardly ever have such a weekend, so I envy you.
ReplyDeleteAnd you look gorgeous in blue and yellow with yet another pair of wonderful shoes.
Time to decompress and veg out = discovering new series for TV marathons. Hellooooo, Orphan Black! :)
ReplyDeleteOoh I love those heels! :) Sounds like you had an awesome couple of days!
