How did the past week and a half just fly by? Shoot, how has May just flown by? Where did spring go?
Well, in thirty seconds, here's some of what I've been up to -
- Funnel cakes, beer, things on-a-stick and much huzzah-ing over the weekend
- Not sure if I picked a tick or a crumb off my dog while in a groggy state a few mornings ago - then decided to Google Image "tick" today don't do it and am having mild freak out
- Bad weather = diverted planes = smallest-vehicle-left-is-a-minivan rental = late for meetings
- New latest book series addiction - I guess I'll always be in the YA book demographic
- Proud owner of no fewer than 16 mosquito bites on my legs from one evening by the water
- Pedometer is my friend - surprisingly doing well with this walking challenge!
- Banana pudding has been added to my repertoire (I threw in an extra egg yolk and used only 3T flour - custard was a bit runny, but coats all the Nillas well and thickens when cooled)
I feel like I've been out of the loop forever - so what's been going on with you lately?
Sweater: Gap v-neck pullover (sim, cardi, deal crew)
Skirt: Limited pleat front (worn here - sim, colorful, as dress)
Necklace: Elizajay Charm via Etsy (worn here - sim, sim, sim)
Bracelet: Ann Taylor pearl & pave cluster (worn here - sim, sim, sim)
Clutch: Rebecca Minkoff (worn here - sim, sim, w/ heart)
Shoes: c/o ShoeMint rosemary (worn here - sim, steal, pricey)
Oh my god, NEVER, ever google image insects! You will be terrified of everything and never want to go outside. I once did this, NEVER AGAIN!
ReplyDeleteYeah, after Googling "ticks" I don't think I'm going to be eating corn again anytime soon, bleh ...
DeleteI know what you mean, I totally fell off the blogging wagon too. May has just been bananas! You're looking great, though, in a cool 1950's way!
ReplyDeleteAnyway, I hope your dog is okay. If you're in any kind of doubt, why don't take him to the vet for piece of mind? :)
I'm beginning to think it was most likely a sprinkle ... I think.
Deletecute outfit! love the stripes of your little bag with your outfit!!
ReplyDeleteI can't believe you have that many mosquito bites!!! yikes, no fun!!!
I am a total mosquito magnet - I should have been more prepared, bah!
DeleteI love that skirt! I tried on the pants version and didn't end up getting them, but it was a very pretty pattern!
ReplyDeleteI may need to get a pedometer. A girl at my office has one of those armbands that measures lots of things and syncs it with an app on her phone. I think I could just work with a regular pedometer, though. However, I'm wearing a dress today--where would I attach it? Hmmm...

The one my company gave me looks like a little pager, but I found it works better than an old wristwatch-looking one I bought myself a while back. I am a total nerd though, I clip it on my belt or waistband if I am wearing a skirt or dress.
DeleteThe combination of the pink sweater with floral skirt is adorable! AND, I LOVE YOUR SHOES!
ReplyDeleteWOW! LOVE the new layout! Clearly it has been too long since I've stopped by! SO cute!

The pink and floral look great together! :) I haven't read "Beautiful Creatures" but I think they're making it into a movie? I seem to fall permanently into the YA demographic, too ... but at least I can (kind of) claim that it goes along with being a librarian. :)
ReplyDeleteThere are cool librarians in BC ... I haven't seen the movie yet though, I wanted to finish the series first.
Deleteinsects scare me up close. well, some humans scare me up close, too. may has been busy, but it'll only be getting worse for me. i'm so nervous! i start out in the icu next month :/
ReplyDeleteGreat outfit, love the bright pink colour on you! Didn't "Beautiful Creatures" come out in the theatres last fall? I did try reading "Twilight" but couldn't get past the terrible writing. I can't believe how fast May has gone by - it's been a stressful and exhausting month for me... I've been trying to put more work into my blog and also trying to figure out kindergarten and day care for my kids.
ReplyDeleteGranted the story lines are totally dif, but BC is way more Hunger Games than Twilight category in terms of writing. I read the first Twilight book, muddled through the next two and couldn't bear to read the fourth.
DeleteLisa! I ADORE this outfit! It's the perfect color pairing for this quite grey morning back to work. I opened it up on my screen and literally squealed. Good thing I'm teaching electives right now instead of core, which allows me to squeal with abandon.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the life update. Always good to hear what my fellow fashionistas have been up to aside from clothing. ;p

Pretty outfit. Of course I love your shoes, but would very much like your skirt to be in my closet as well.
ReplyDeleteOh.. and you write well. Most of the times reading your articles brings a smile on my face.
Lovely outfit - the neon is just great on you.
ReplyDeleteGreat colors Lisa!
ReplyDeleteAren't you just happy to be home ?!

DeleteThat clutch is darling! And it sounds like you've had a pretty nice May so far - I can't believe how the time is flying by!

Such pretty colors! I Google everything and then always live to regret it afterwards...on a positive note, at least you found the tick (if it was a tick)!
ReplyDeleteI Google image everything too - still shivering over "ticks." yech!
DeleteMay has flown by! I have a feeling the summer will too - it better be a hot one! April showers bring May flowers...this skirt is perfect!
ReplyDeletethis outfit is perfect for it almost being summer, lisa!
ReplyDeletenot much going on ;) heading back to school this week for one course in person and an online course. a little nervous but fun school supplies make it allll the much better!
I am suddenly envisioning Trapper Keepers and all the cool accessories that came with them!

Boy I hope that wasn't a tick. I saw photos of that in my vet's office and I've been trying to scrub that image out of my brain ever since.
ReplyDeleteOnly you can get away with this bubblegum pink : )
bisous

Worse than "tick" is "tick infestation." Ooh, I am getting the shivers as I type!
DeleteI've never heard of this Beautiful Creatures series -is it addicting? If it's as good as the other YA series, I am in! I am the same way with mosquito bites, my husband & I can be standing each other and I would be covered with bites and he would have none. I say we just have sweater blood! Great outfit.

I am totally the same with mosquitos. Bring me to an outdoor party and no one else will need to worry about getting bitten.
DeleteI got sucked into Hunger Games a while back and I think this series is just as good, in a totally different way. I've read the first three books back-to-back-to-back and am trying to slow down for the last.
I absolutely love that pink top with that pretty floral skirt! Such a pretty outfit!

That skirt looks so fine! I love the look of the fabric and as always you pair it so well. I love pedometer.. use it to walk around the park but now I know that 2 rounds will get me 7,000 steps!

Yeah, who knew I took all those steps just bumbling around every morning?!
DeleteGreat color mixing. I don't think I can pull off a hot pink top but you did well =)
ReplyDeleteLove that bright pink and ticks! ugh. I did have to pick one off my dog and it was awful. those things don't die. the only thing I don't like about summer.
ReplyDeleteChic on the Cheap
I can't stop reading YA novels either. I'm currently on the 3rd book in the Watersong series. They're cheesy, but good.
ReplyDeleteeeps! the colors in this outfit are sooo cute! i love your pink sweater! so pretty!
