Tweed Printed

sleeveless ponte sheath

I often have to go into work environments where business attire is required, so a lot of pieces in my closet are pretty much suit separates. But let's face it, business attire is not really super duper comfy - and I haaaaaaaaaate being uncomfortable - so I've been real happy that ponte knits in more business-y cuts have been gaining popularity with retailers these past few seasons.

So this dress from Lands' End is right up my alley. It's stretchy and soft, thick enough so that I don't have to worry about what kind of underthings I'm wearing, plus it's got a cool tweed-y print without being actual tweed (ew, itchy, thick ...) And I knew the fit would work for me since I already own the keyhole version in black and teal. And I also own about 2,367 other knit dresses from Lands' End because - hello, comfortable!

* I received a gift card from Lands' End to check out items from their fall collection but selected this dress myself. If you've been reading my blog, you know I'm a years-long LE fan, so I was thrilled at the opportunity to work with them.

  2. Super neat that it's a tweed print instead of a traditional tweed fabric. Like you said, the look of tweed without the heft and itch! And I just adore the top you have layered underneath with the bejeweled collar. I love that you always bring a bit of surprise glamour to your work looks!

  3. I've recently rediscovered Lands End. For years I considered them dumpy, middle-age clothes, but now I'm middle-age and don't find them dumpy. And you are much younger, so that's double affirmation!

    1. I used to feel the same way about LE - my parents bought clothes there, not me - but they've been getting better and better these past few years. I wouldn't consider them the go-to place for super on-trend pieces, but they've got great basic and very wearable styles, IMO.

    1. Most of my knit dresses and gingham shirts are from there, hehe. They're definitely not super-trendy or anything, but they've got great stylish pieces for work and play.

  6. Woot, three cheers for Lands' End! I have also been a long-time collector of Lands' End items, including coats (the best) and easy-to-wear dresses and skirts. LOVE LOVE LOVE that the pattern is tweed without it actually being tweed.
