For your Monday enjoyment, here are some random things you may not know about me:
I've always wanted to be a mascot. A got a bit of a taste of it a few years ago when I got to dress up as a chili pepper for a race around the bases during a local minor league baseball game. Ah, the cheers of the fans - and I won the race, even after getting tripped up by a fellow pepper after the start!
Grown-ass adult here - still scared of the dark.
I have my mom to thank for this, but I adore garlic. I think a few slices of raw garlic is a fantastic accompaniment to almost any meal - though I rarely ever do this (those around me rejoice). As much as I like garlic, I can't stand the taste of garlic on my breath and it practically impossible to get rid of!
Doomsday Preppers is one of my guilty-pleasure shows. More so, probably, than anything on Bravo. The folks on Bravo are plain ole over-the-top. The eccentric people on Doomsday Preppers may be right. Shhh, and get in your foxholes!
I get way seasick. I went deep sea fishing once and it was a lovely day out on the water until ... the captain turned off the engine and the boat started swaying side-to-side. And that was about the end of my day. Except I didn't want to ruin the trip for everyone else on the boat so I laid down sick on the boat for hours. Not one of my more fun excursions.
Chocolate chip cookies are my fave, especially the chewy ones. I love everything about them except for the chocolate chip part. Really.
I've been to Disney World three times, all times with friends, no kids. I love Epcot. Space Mountain is awesomely scary. The hot dogs at Casey's Corner in the Magic Kingdom can't be beat. The blue glow-tinis at the Prime Time Cafe in Hollywood Studios are wicked. And some of us may have snuck into the Honey I Shrunk the Kids exhibit after-hours, thanks to too many glow-tinis.

OMG I'M still afraid of the dark! And I also love garlic. Not enough to eat it whole, but I love adding a ton of garlic to everything!
ReplyDeleteI love garlic as well...the best is when it's roasted and it's soft like butter..yum! Now that I have a little one and live 15 minutes away from Disneyland, we go there a lot. But I never got to go there until I was an adult.
ReplyDeleteLove the stripes with the lace!

Mm, mm, roasted garlic!
DeleteI am afraid of the dark too. I was not a happy camper when the power went out for days during Hurricane Sandy.

i get way seasick too. motion sick. anything. yesterday went on a ride at a fair with my son, and i was out of commission for the rest of the day. i love the lace dress with the blazer like that. very cute!
ReplyDeleteI love garlic, too, but can't get rid of the smell until the next meal! You look great, that dress is gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteCute dress! I loved these "about me" facts! Garlic breath IS potent but the flavor garlic brings to a meal is fantastic. Interesting tidbit...my grandfather claims that rubbing garlic on itchy skin rashes helps them go away. Not quite sure about that but he swears by it!

This year I've gone to putting toothpaste on mosquito bites. I guess it dries the area up a bit so I don't itch, but my legs look awful funny!
DeleteI'm still afraid of the dark too . . . and rabbits. I don't know why, but they've always creeped me out. Love the blazer with this dress Lisa!
ReplyDeleteI'm envisioning you trembling in fear every time Easter rolls around, haha. ;o)
DeleteI'm afraid of water. I really love the dress and blazer. It's so summery!

Love this outfit on you, Lisa!
ReplyDeleteHey! I also love plain brown cookies. My baker friend gave me endless grief over it. She'd grumble and complain whenever I requested a few plain ones in the mix. :-)
ReplyDeleteSomething special about that chocolate chip cookie batter ...
DeleteI put hot sauce on nearly everything. This is what happens when you start eating chili as a toddler - nothing ever seems spicy enough!
ReplyDeleteAlso - I could be on a boat for hours - I feel so sorry for you and others who can't!
Going out on the lake, I'm fine. Rocky ocean on a not-so-big boat, no thanks!
DeleteRocky = rocking, d'oh!
DeleteI hear you on the seasick thing. You and me both, sister.
ReplyDeleteI have 4 tattoos. I am deathly afraid of snakes. I almost never wear high heels, even though I think they look great on everyone else. I own 2 chinchillas.
I love these fun facts! I like garlic and garlicky food too. And I've never had the opportunity to be seasick yet, but I get so motion sick that I'm sure I will be sick at sea!
ReplyDeleteCan we be friends? We can have an entire weekend devoted to garlic and chocolate chip cookies! Honest! Those are some of my favorite foods!
ReplyDeleteYou can have my chips!
DeleteLove this dress with your striped blazer. That is too cute! I have a lot of strange visualizations of falling down stairs in heels. Thankfully it hasn't ever happened!

I've fallen down stairs in flats before. ;o}
DeleteI often make a batch of chocolate chip cookie dough to snack on, but I pick around the chocolate chips!!

Most people would not know that I love the smell of gasoline, do not like to drink and love antiques.
ReplyDeleteI just love the blazer!!so chic!
ReplyDeletekisses from Milan
I really love the white eyelet with the stripes! I love garlic too, but it is definitely best enjoyed raw when alone!
ReplyDeleteChic on the Cheap
Absolutely!
DeleteI can eat raw garlic when I'm with my mom because she loves it too, but then we can't come near each other. ;o)
great outfit!
ReplyDeletei also love chocolate chip cookies and garlic!!
I love that dress Lisa! So gorgeous! I like some country music :D

Cute nautical blazer!:)

Lovely lovely outfit ;) Love how u put the striped blazer over the dress!
ReplyDeletewww.speakstyleandrock.com
Great outfit! The dress is so cute and looks just like the J. Crew teardrop lace dress/blouse. Forever 21 has some great finds if you hit it right.
ReplyDeleteI also enjoyed your list of random things, especially the chilli pepper incident! I guess one random factoid about me is that I have no sense of smell.
Sometimes I wish I had no sense of smell when my pup sleep farts, haha!
DeleteThis was hilarious, I love that you enjoy bad (but so good) reality television as much as I do!
ReplyDeleteI'm not very good about being secretive, so I can't think of much that my friends or acquaintances don't know...I'll go with the fact that I go through major phases with food. For weeks on end I'll just love eating one specific thing and have it for most meals back to back to back(I've been through it with plums, sea bass, pumpkin/squash, and spinach) and all of a sudden I'll be over it and want it in regular quantities. Not as fun as your glow-tini story!
Oh, I'm over glow-tinis, haha. We originally held onto the plastic light up ice cubes that came with each drink but eventually I had a purse full and we just told the bartender, no cubes, more drinks.
DeleteI love that you want to be a mascot!
ReplyDeleteThis outfit is phenomenal. I am in love with the print and the texture combo!
ReplyDeleteI love garlic, too! Something people don't know.... hmm... I really like Indian food? hahahahaa
ReplyDeleteI'll eat naan all day long ...
DeleteThe nautical blazer over that lace dress is incredible!! I'm such a huge sucker for Epcot...and all things Disney too :-)
ReplyDeleteYou want to be a mascot? What about having to wear the hot, sweaty, yucky, gross costume?
ReplyDeleteThis is such a fresh, pretty look, makes me regret passing on that jacket.
What people don't know about me shall remain what people don't know about me. ;)
Yeah, it was kind of gross in that chili pepper costume that's obviously been worn a lot before. But to be able to dance for the people in an oversized outfit that's cute and hilarious, ah, dreams ...
DeleteGorgeous outfit, Lisa! In fact, I have just ordered those Sam Edelman sandals due to this pic! I hope they fit - I got the whiskey colour in my usual size 6!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the sandal inspiration!
I think you'll like them. They fit TTS in my opinion and the insole is padded, so they are comfy!
Deleteyou dressed as a chili pepper sounds hilarious. this dress is just gorgeous on you! tot a look i'll have to try to recreate for the office w/ the pretty dress & classy blazer, nicely done!

omg i'm totally scared of the dark too!! when i'm home alone and i'm like in the shower i always think someone's coming to kill me HAHA. love that striped blazer!
ReplyDeleteI love garlic- the more the better! And definitely Doomsday Preppers can occupy a whole lazy day for me :)
ReplyDeleteI love this outfit!! and I totally love chocolate chip cookies without the chocolate chips and try to pick ones with less chips so I can eat around them. Regular cookies without chocolate chips just don't taste the same.
ReplyDeleteCan't believe I missed this post before & I can't believe that's a F21 dress! Sooo cute!
ReplyDeleteI get WAY seasick too! I had the exact same deep sea fishing experience as you back in college. I can get pretty car sick too if I'm not careful. It's the WORST.
