I'm currently Netflix-binging Mad Men, so I felt inspired to break out a full skirt silhouette. I'm into Season 3 right now and so far Betty Draper is one of my fave characters ... though for she's-a-style-icon-ice-queen reasons than for anything else. I mean, I don't really think there's anything likable about Betty as-of-yet but I am keeping my fingers crossed that she gets redeemed later in the series. For now, I'll just admire her perfect early '60s style from afar.
Top: F21 eyelet crochet (worn before - sim under $30, sim)
Skirt: Maeve by Anthropologie sumukhwa (sim hues in fish print, sim luxe, sim in pinks)
Necklace: Kenneth Jay Lane two row wood bead (sim statement luxe)
Bracelets: F21, Old Navy (sim), c/o Style Lately (sim)
Shoes: Guess kissani (worn before - sim peep-toe, sim chunky heel, sim glammed up over-the-top)
Bag: Brahmin anytime (worn before - sim, sim under $60, sim perforated under $40)
nice skirt!

DeleteBetty's beautiful - but soooo unhappy! Don's in no way perfect but Betty never seems to be happy with anything!
ReplyDeleteI agree with you, but now that I'm into Season 5, she seems to be maturing and I'm actually beginning to like her as a character.
DeleteGreetings Lisa – Mad Men is one of the best series on television EVER! I was hooked from the premiere several summers ago. Peggy, Joan, Betty, and all the women are amazing, and Roger Sterling has the best lines. Go to the AMC Mad Men site to read recaps, also read recaps on Vulture which started in Season 2, Entertainment Weekly, and Vanity Fair. Tom and Lorenzo do in-depth fashion analyses, although they did not start until a few seasons in (http://tomandlorenzo.com/tag/mad-style/). Enjoy! Jennifer
ReplyDeleteThanks for the info! Yep, Joan is probably my most favorite character and now that I've gotten to season 5, I actually am beginning to like both Don and Betty are characters. I've been Googling reviews and analyses (sp?) as I've been watching to get more insight on some characters, so thanks for the recs, I will check them out!
DeleteAaaaaaah your necklace, and the shoes/bag look classy without being too matchy matchy. Big MadMen fan here, I fell in and out of love with almost every character, good TV, so well done.
ReplyDeleteI'm up to Seasons 5 now and I'm getting a bit sad since I know there's only two seasons left for me to watch. What am I going to do with my free time after that?! ;o)
