Now, Later and After: Trench Dress

We're inching towards cooler temps here in the Southeast, so I thought it's time to another wearing now, later and after post, this time featuring the sleeveless trench dress.

Now granted when I started seeing sleeveless trenches take off last fall, I had a bit of a Why? moment. Like, if you wanted to wear a trench coat, don't you want your arms to be covered so you can actually stay warm/dry? What is up with some sort of long half jacket?

But then retailers started making the look a little softer and calling it a trench dress and it was like some cartoon balloon went up over my head and a light bulb danced around in it. Because suddenly, hello layering possibilities

  4. This is great. I was a bit iffy on the sleeveless trenches and jackets at first too, but I really do think they're great layering pieces. And you've demonstrated that perfectly!

  5. I had the same thoughts about the sleeveless trench, but you're right, a trench dress makes so much more sense. And I love how you've styled it for several seaons - so smart!

  7. You are so right! A sleeveless trench seems useless but a sleeveless trench dress has endless possibilities! I am seeing this trend all over now and am starting to really like it! Love how you styled this one!
