Holding onto Summer

liberty stripes liberty stripes

I've gotta give this easy light dress another spin or two before packing her away for impending cool weather. The addition of a nice ditsy floral blazer in the same color tone makes this whole ensemble (casual) office appropriate for me.

Are there any summer faves of yours that you still plan on wearing through fall?

  1. I have a quite a few sleeveless dresses that I will layer with blazers for the early fall months. I really like them because it's hard to predict in Kansas when things are really going to be cool or if it's just the morning.

    1. I agree - plus blazers seem to be able to make any outfit instantly more polished!

  2. Love the dress! You could try prolonging the wear of this dress by layering with a button-down and some leggings! :)

  4. I'm actually trying to figure that out now. It's starting to get chilly in the mornings but we have another couple of weeks of 80+ degree weather so I need to decide what to store and what to keep but it's hard!

    1. I'm the same way - it's September but it's still in the high 80s here every day!

  5. I love this floral blazer on you, it's definitely a piece you can keep layering into fall. I'm keeping some of my dresses and skirts out longer, anticipating layering with jackets/tights/boots. =)

    1. I have a love/hate with tights for cool weather. I like the look and how it lets me be able to continue wearing dresses/skirts but I don't really like the feel of tights at all!

  8. I don't know...I'm not trying to hang on to summer so much, but it's definitely hanging on here. I'm sure I'll be tired of tights in a few months, but I'm looking forward to a change. That might be because I have trouble with transition wardrobes, so I'll take inspiration from your totally cute outfit here!

    1. I know what you mean about transitioning. I feel like since it's technically September I should be wearing more fall gear, but it's still too warm and there doesn't seem to be any letting out of the warm weather!

  9. I'm ready for summer to end but I live in a place that has hot hot summers and doesn't have harsh winters. I love the combo of floral and stripes!

  10. This time of year kinda stresses me out. I look into my closet and see all the things I bought over the summer that I never got to wear and now it's getting too cold, so yes..there are several things I am trying to wear into the fall. Today that happens to be my LBD from the 70's and my gladiator sandals. Who knows what it will be tomorrow!

    Thank's Lisa!
