Though I took this trip earlier this month, I didn't want to forget to share some snips of my first visit to Kuala Lumpur. I think I pretty much ate an all-carbs diet while I was there, filling up on my share of Asian bakery breads, fresh-made breakfast roti, and anything made with rice. The weather and people were lovely, I was glad I had an opportunity to visit.

KL1 KL2 KL3
My hotel was located right across City Centre Park from the Petronas Towers - what a spectacular view to walk out to every day! ♥ Showing some love to Malaysia (rings are from F21). ♥ Another lovely park view.

KL4 KL5 KL6
♥ My trip coencided with the Mid-Autumn Festival - so when in an Asian country, eat moon cake! Top floor of my hotel - it's the hotel pool/slash bar and you literally had to walk along the edge of the water to move around. I'm surprised no one fell in! ♥ Bukit Bintang - party area filled with bars and restaurants ... and endless happy hour ...

KL7 KL8 KL9
♥ How many shops can you fit into one building ... ♥ The twin towers by twilight.
♥ Just part of a yummy Chinese spread.

KL10 KL11 KL12
I love soup dumplings. ♥ Spoiling myself a bit with a spa evening at the Impiana
♥ Pool bar by night - it's called the Sky Bar at Traders.

KL13 KL14 KL15
When life asks you why ... ♥ Yes, we had Mexican food for dinner one evening. And the use of Asian chiles in some of the salsas made them pleasingly tongue-numbing hot. ♥ My first glimpse of Taiwan since my teens - unfortunately just a short layover in Taipei.

KL16 KL17 KL18
♥ Hello Kitty rules at Taipei Airport. ♥ As well as a menagerie of other cutesy friends. ♥ Sure sign I'm back in 'Merica - my flight home had a special VIP passenger (on her way to Dollywood).

  1. Okay, first of all, I love that dress. Pairing it with the shirt underneath was styling genius. And THOSE SHOES!!! Those shoes. Are. Amazing. Also amazing? That trip. How fun! I love a trip filled with carbs! And the last photo and caption made me lol.

    1. Many thanks, girl! I adore these shoes but they are borderline too tall for me to walk competently around in - I save them for office days where I know I won't really be going anywhere, hehe.

  2. I love the dress, obviously, lol. :D But two things from your photos--that spa treatment--my feet are in heaven looking at your photo, and that eagle, how wonderful you got to be so close that majestic animal, so beautiful!

    1. The eagle at the airport was way cool - I actually had my back to her at first and was looking around me when she was making noise, thinking there was some seagull or something in the terminal. Nah, just a bald eagle, same ole same ole, right ... ;o)

  3. Your outfit is stunning. That color is perfect on you. I would not have thought to wear the earrings with the embellished collar, but it really works!!
Thanks for sharing pics of your trip. It looks like a lovely place!

  4. Your food pics look delicious, especially the soup dumplings. I still haven't been able to find authentic ones here in the US.

    1. I'm sure there are likely some pretty good places in Cali or Seattle, but the best soup dumplings I've had in the States has been at Joe's Shanghai in NYC - they've got Chinatown and Flushing locations. But you're right, good ones are so hard to find in the states!

  8. I love red on you! And with the sweet embellished collar poking out too. :) Hooray for mooncakes! I love the plain ones with the egg inside, and my mom sent me a few this year, including a savory one that I was not a fan of -- it included pork and beans?? :/

Amazing photos, though! I love the look of that lake in the park -- is that a whale sculpture? And what kind of VIP person has "live bald eagle greeting at airport" on their rider list, haha...

    1. Oooh, savory moon cakes? Not sure how I feel about that ... I think egg yolk ones are the craziest I've ever tried, my fave are still the plain red bean ones.
