book. It feels the teeniest bit retro glam to me, like what I envision stylish Katherine Hepburn-types in the '40s used to do (my level of historical sartorial accuracy is based largely upon what I imagine in my head, so just bear with me). So I'm keeping it simple in today's outfit sans any sort of big ole statement necklace or armload of bangles, but still feeling like I'm got the littlest bit of glam with me.
Top: J.Crew perfect stripe (worn here - sim, sim, popover)
Skirt: J.Crew collection lace-stripe silk (worn here - sim, sim, mini, 3D floral for fun)
Belt: Anthropologie ekbal (worn here - sim blue, pewter, neutral)
Bracelet: INPINK barnacle (worn here - sim, sim)
Earrings: Ann Taylor (worn here - sim, sim)
Shoes: Zara block heel (worn here - sim, flats)
Bag: Dooney & Bourke equestrian (latest version, sim tasseled, rounder, western)
There is definitely enough detail in both the op (pinstripe) and the skirt (lace), to make this outfit pop sans multiple accessories. I love it, of course! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks, girl!
DeleteI so love this skirt on you!

Deletehow do you pull off yellow so well? the little details are great and you always look good in button-downs.
ReplyDeleteI opt for the bright lemony hues or mustardy yellows - they seem to work the best on me.

That neon looks really good on you~ I don't have any neon things. I gravitate towards black :)

This is one of my fave button-downs!
DeleteI agree! Popped collars are pretty rad. I am loving the colors here!
ReplyDeleteSuch a great punch of color. I love that you went really neutral and muted with your other pieces but managed to sneak in some color and glitz in your smaller accessories. It strikes a great balance of loud, zesty elements and more muted, subtle elements.

You always look so fab in bright bold hues!
DeleteOoh I love this. The stripes with the bold neon are perfection, and that belt adds just the right amount of "pizzazz". Very glam, love it!
ReplyDeleteI have never popped my color - not sure I can pull it off. You look stunning as always!

I like a turned up collar so much I even had the seamstress put something stiff in the collar of my silk blouse. Cause it is lime coloured but with black and white stripes if you turn the collar up.
ReplyDeleteMy husband is very unaware of these things and did the photographing of the blouse for my blog.... with the collar down....
