A June Must Have

Subscription boxes have been around for a few years now but due mostly to mass indecisiveness, I've yet to partake. There are food-related ones, beauty, fashion, etc. and I didn't know which to try. So when POPSUGAR sent me their latest Must Have box, I was seriously intrigued.

What makes the POPSUGAR Must Have boxes immediately stand out to me above the other box services out there is that their monthly boxes cover a little bit of all my fave things - food, fashion, beauty and a little stylish miscellany. Plus I get access to full-size products versus little samples.

Boxes are $39.95 per month (including shipping - discounts apply if you sign up for multi-months, though read their terms so you're aware of their cancellation policy) for the program. Mini boxes are also available for $18.95 per month.

I received the June Must Have box and received the following:

Hat Attack Neutral Diamonds-Printed Sarong
100% cotton and light-weight enough to pack up and use as a scarf or wrap.

Sister of Los Angeles "Cheers" Gold Bottle Opener
Nothing like a fun bit of flash when opening the ole beer bottle.

Wild and Wolf Ridley's Games Room "What Am I?" Quiz
Pop culture aficianados can rejoice over this easy-to-play guess-the-celebrity game.

NCLA  Born on the 4th Nail Lacquer
Sparkly red, white and blue polish.

Knock Knock Are You Ready (For Your Close-Up?) Compact
One side is a regular mirror and the other is magnified in this punchy compact.

Pacifica Underarm Deodorant Wipes
Vegan formula that can refresh and neutralize odors on-the-go.

Pressels Sriracha Thin & Crispy Pretzel Chips
Baked pretzel thins that were the first thing opened and consumed from the box.

Strappy Loreley

loreley top

This look to me is kind of business, kind of date night. This top is kind of sweet, kind of sexy without showing anything, and all sorts of comfy. No necklace necessary for me while wearing this top, which feels like a load off my neck when it's hot hot hot outside.

Simple Statements for Summer

Hot summer weather makes getting dressed so easy in a way - you don't need a whole lot to make a statement. Here's an idea on some pretty stand-alone pieces that I'm currently considering - and they can all be found on Shopbop. Shopbop has been my go-to online retailer for warm weather goodies since they carry a ton of designer name brands and styles with free expedited shipping to most countries.

Pink Scooters

Outfit from last week. The cute scooter print of this blouse felt like it just needed to be paired with a mix of pinks. I'm already looking forward to wearing this pairing again.

Things are Warming Up at the Office

The weather slowly but surely creeping its way up from tolerably warm to just plain ole H O T. Which for me means that it gets more and more difficult to want to be dressed in any style that remotely resembles professional.

So to try to beat the heat, I lean towards natural fabrics, sleeveless tops that aren't too bare for the office and stretchy printed knits (i.e., sweat camouflage - yeah, sorry). Here are a couple of ideas for how I'll be dressing for work as the temps continue to rise:

Striped Schoolboy

pink sheath + blue stripes pink sheath + blue stripes

I currently own three different types of the J.Crew schoolboy blazers and am constantly on the lookout for more in my size. They fit my broad shoulders well and the ones with the gold buttons have the bit of extra prep-snazz I adore. Unfortunately J.Crew has decided to move on from this style so new additions to my closet must be Ebay-scouted.

Wearing a Florie

This beautiful dress has a criss cross back which bares a bit more skin than I am normally used to, but with the temps and humidity being ridiculous lately, there's only so much covered up I can get. So this fun dress (with pockets!) gets layered with a little cardi for daytime at the office, and then I'll bare it for an evening out.

Pattern Play in Blues

Every time I pull these shorts out, they seem to beg for me to pair them with blue. I've tried them with blue stripes last summer, so it wasn't much of a reach to pull out the gingham this go-around.
