A Little Wishlisting in Gingham

black stripes + green gingham

Granted fall is my favorite of the seasons, but living in the SE means that fall weather is still at least two months away. So I'll still be sporting bare toes and exposed limbs for a loooooooooong while longer, and the thought of scarves and boots give me the hives right now.

Buuut as an avid online window shopper, there's no avoiding the fall gear hitting up some of my fave shops already and I have to admit my wishlist for fall is starting to grow. Like the lovely textured sweater and flippy skirt that would make a lovely monochromatic ivory ensemble (thank you Marissa Webb for joining BR and making me start loving the brand all over again) ... or this perpetually popped collar camel blazer ... this faux-furried coat/sweater/poncho thing that kind of makes no sense but I am adoring ... and these studded suede pumps that I want both in the neutral and burgundy hues (sale, please)!

What's on your fall wishlist? Have any of you ladies already made some fall-worthy purchases?

  1. Cute outfit Lisa! Fall is also my favorite season, but I feel like we really don't have a true "fall" here is Southern California. I will also be in shorts, sandals and other warm weather items for at least a couple of months!

    1. Same way here in the SE - it feels like fall for only about two weeks. I do sometimes miss the "true" fall of the NE - crisp air, turning leaves, getting to wear cozy layers for a few months before it gets real cold.

  2. I swear you are the queen of pattern mixing! Everything you do is perfection! I love the stripes with the big gingham print :)

  3. No fall wishlist yet... I'm still desperately clinging to summer.

Love your outfit, especially the two tone shoes and the pattern mixing.

    1. I know what you mean - it's going to be December before we know it and I'll be chattering my teeth here begging for 90-degree weather!

  4. I am going on a spending fast for 90 days so I'm avoiding looking at anything new. Sigh...

  5. I'm looking forward to trying on the new collection. In years past it's been rather boxy so I'm hoping with Marissa Webb on board their cuts are little better fitting.

  6. I like fall just fine . . . and I would like it more if it wasn't directly proceeded by winter. Blech. I don't think I'm quite ready to say goodbye to summer! Although I have always adored gingham in any season!

  9. That's so true--fall doesn't really arrive here in the SE until November, and even then it's iffy. It was 80 degrees on my wedding day, and that was November 3rd! Nonetheless, I am still lusting after all the boots and plaid I'm starting to see online!

    1. Me too - but it's going to be a loooooooooong while before either of us will have an opp to wear boots and not feel hot/weird about it, hehe.

  10. We are the same out here in California. The weather doesn't start to turn cooler until November.
Right now I am waiting for that red plaid blazer to show up on Anthro's website. Not sure why it caught my eye since I am not crazy about plaid. Never say never when it comes to fashion! LOL
Love the gingham with the stripes!

  14. Fall won't be here in Southern CA until maybe November if we are lucky. All the new arrivals + sales has made it too easy to start shopping for fall.
