Sweatshirt Dressing

floral eyelet floral eyelet

For those of you ladies who have been checking out my blog for a while, you know I adore "cheat" clothes. Those are the pieces that are soft, stretchy and oh so easy, it's like home clothes that masquerade as outside clothes.

This sweatshirt dress is a perfect example of "cheat" clothes - it is way too easy to put on and soooo comfortable. I may have napped in this piece over the weekend, then fluffed my hair, grabbed a purse and gone right out.

What are your "cheat" clothes?

  2. Such a great dress! You are making me want to head right over to gap.com to buy one for myself! I have a sweatshirt-material from Gap that I purchased this fall and it is definitely a "cheater" piece for me. I have to try not to wear it once a week.

  4. That is such a pretty dress! Bonus that it's comfortable too! :)

I like maxi dresses and maxi skirts - you can laze around in them at home but they look so put together when you step outside, haha! :)

  5. That looks SO cute on you! I ordered the navy and white eyelet and I sent it back :( It just did not look good on me, more like a sack. Maybe I should have tried a smaller size. It was OH, so comfy though. Seeing it again on you, makes me want to try again.
I love it with your Coach. Perfection!

  8. OMG, cheats are the best. Anything knit, anything with an elastic waistband, those are my cheats for sure. I recently picked up a cotton knit maxidress and it's like wearing a nightgown! I love the blue and white with the necklace.

    1. I'm wearing a PJ top as a real top today - is that liking cheat dressing too, or is that too much leaning towards the "plain lazy" category? ;o)

  13. I have a sweatshirt dress from the Gap that really looks like a sweatshirt (it's grey). My other cheats: maxi dresses, some of the anthro chemises, skirts with stretchy waistbands...

I wore a leopard print dress from Banana Republic two days ago and the waist was pretty constricting. I was glad to have it off when I got home.

    1. I have a bunch of lovely structured pieces that don't get a load of wear because they're constricting! Why should I wear a dress I can't pick my arms up in? Who do that to myself? ;o) (BC it looks good ...)

  17. I can't believe this is a sweatshirt!! It's gorgeous! And I would totally nap in it too.

My cheat clothes are all of my maxi dresses. I wish I had known about those gems in college - I would have worn those to class instead of my sweats!

    1. Ugh, don't remind me of college! Class-day dressing was the worst! Let's see what's the most terrible thing I can put together in three minutes to go to class in!

    1. I kind of resemble a couch or wallpaper pattern, but if so, I'll just consider this dress as "granny camo."

  26. I love that you call these "cheat clothes." This dress is so cute, I may have to check out the Gap.
My cheat clothes would be polo and t-shirt dresses, comfortable yet nicer than sweats.
That necklace is beautiful by the way. You mentioned that it is from GroopDealz, but is it a particular brand?
    Have a nice evening,

  28. After reading your description, I'm pretty sure I only wear cheat clothes. I'll take stretchy knits over wovens any day! I really love this color combo. Pale pink and blue were my parent's wedding colors, some 30 years ago. I love looking through their wedding day photos and how they sprinkled those lovely colors throughout the day. And this outfit reminds me of that. So pretty!
