Hey ladies! I’m in week two of my deep dive work projects extravaganza (makes it sound cooler than “I will have no personal life for at least two weeks”) but wanted to drop a line to see how everyone in blogdom is doing! The last week or so has been a whirlwind of little bits of awesomeness mixed in with some of that good ole WTF.
Cases in point …
Cases in point …
WTF: Last week included a business trip that started off with my flight being delayed due to a mechanical issue with the plane. Then the replacement plane brought in was missing its trash cans (!), so we had to wait even longer – long enough for me to miss my connecting flight and having to spend the night in an unfamiliar country while missing my first day of meetings.
Awesomeness: I had an opp to try out my first Thai massage – in Thailand!
WTF: While I was gone, I left too many leftovers in the fridge. Now I’d rather sacrifice some Tupperware containers than figure out what kind of chemistry experiments I unwittingly created in my fridge. Why does green and furry mean gag-inducing stink?
Awesomeness: Being able to fall into my own bed after a long whiles far far away. Is anything more comforting?
Awesomeness: Being able to fall into my own bed after a long whiles far far away. Is anything more comforting?
Awesomeness: I managed to lose about three pounds with my healthier eating initiative by the end of September.
WTF: I gained all the weight back in the last week. Curry crab, pineapple fried rice and international buffet breakfast weight ...
WTF: I gained all the weight back in the last week. Curry crab, pineapple fried rice and international buffet breakfast weight ...
Awesomeness: Seeing how genuinely excited my pup is to see me after time away from home. There’s really no better greeting.
WTF: Pup butt-scooted on the carpet the other day – typically kind of groan-inducing but still funny and cute. This time, she left track marks. Seriously?
Awesomeness: Breaking out a kickass new pair of heels for a trip.
WTF: Realizing very quickly – but nonetheless still too late – that those same shoes will leave my feet as bloody stumps.

ReplyDeletewow...life HAS been a whirlwind for you as of late. hope the next few weeks are a little more laid back :) P.S. LOVE THIS OUTFIT!!!!
ReplyDeleteHaha, I feel like every day usually includes some sort of "awesomeness" or "wtf!" occurrence for me:)
ReplyDeleteYour outfits ALWAYS look so cute. Wish I could pull that off every single day:(
Busy, busy lady! You look quite fabulous for dealing with a whole lotta WTF's and Awesomness:) Loving your necklace to pieces! xo

Loving this look so much! Sorry about your flight, a similar thing happened to me when I was trying to get home from vacation in the outerbanks. My flight was delayed around 4 hours and it was a pain! As for my awesomeness: I leave tomorrow for a weekend cruise to the Bahamas with my boyfriend (much much needed R&R). WTF: Tried to walk our pup this morning only to find she is terrified of the garbage truck -sigh-. Have a great weekend!

That's too funny about your dog butt scooting! Sounds like you've had the good with the bad! You outfit is perfect! I love the necklace!
ReplyDeleteFabulous outfit! And you look great, so enjoy every bite.
ReplyDeleteI love the dots and the pink.
ReplyDeleteSounds like you're still finding awesomeness amidst all the wtf moments -- good for you!
Your dotty and bright outfit = also awesomeness. I also love seeing my pup when I get home from a long trip, (or even just getting home from work!) she's so excited!
ReplyDeletethis outfit is awesome! i love that you find awesomeness to balance wtf moments. most recent wtf moment for me was also plane/flight related. i am at the departure gate and the plane that is supposed to be coming in hasn't left the other city. 3 hours later, i'm heading back home. the awesomeness part - was during that trip i scored at the barney's outlet store. :)

You'd think that the airlines know that kind of stuff in advance and they could save you a few hours, couldn't they?!
DeleteLove this outfit!!! Especially the jewelry. As for the butt scootery, she may need to have her anal glands expressed...our dog needs that done about 2x a year - and super cheap at the vet's...thank goodness!
ReplyDeleteAwesomeness was wearing a sweater yesterday sans coat and it feeling perfectly fine. This inbetween weather is just great.
ReplyDeleteWTF was the price quoted to have the carpet cleaners was about five times more than I thought it would be. No thank you for teflon protection at an extra $100.
I love the dots on dots look and please don't tell me that those Madewell shoes were the culprits that messed up your feet? I was just thinking about ordering a pair of new heels from them.
Not these - though I'm still breaking them in since they squished my toes pretty bad. Patent leather usually does my feet in - though I love the look, they typically make the shoes stiffer IMO.
DeleteI love this color combination; it's unusual but really, really great.
ReplyDeleteLove the necklace with the rest of the outfit. Great pop of color. My most recent WTF is my body deciding to celebrate my almost turning 31 by bursting forth a nice new zit on the bridge of my nose. Nothing says welcome to your 30s like a pimple on your face... awesomeness is birthday discounts :)
ReplyDeleteSafe travels...hope to hear more about them and see some travel pics!
Sounds like an exhausting but fun trip! I love this outfit! Your jewelry is fabulous!

oh nooo lisa! i hope things get better doll. i hate wtf moments! lol instead of one they seem to compound into several like a domino effect. constantly testing your patience. my wtf is having to replace my desktop. thank god i have a laptop. my awesomeness is i have a new blog design. so that perked me up. i want to tell you i love love love that caramel beige and pink together. it looks so beautiful. adore that outfit.
ReplyDeletehttp://www.averysweetblog.com/
Cute post, thanks for the laughs with your up and downs. Your outfit is pretty awsomeness! But Lisa, Lisa, Lisa, never break out new shoes for travel. ;)
ReplyDeleteOh I totally know that. But somehow I never learn ...
DeleteI totally agree with the comfort of your own bed. I have been out travelling for work and even though we had a smashing hotel bedroom and all - nothing beats the comfort of your own pillow and bed! Loving the polka dots :)
ReplyDeletekatattack2000.wordpress.com
LOL I love this. WTF! I must say that to myself a billion times a day. Awesomeness = buying new fall clothes. WTF = deliveries that come midday while I'm at work and then I've got to travel to the other side of the city to pick it up!
ReplyDeleteYou look great. I need more polka dots in my life.
Lovin' the big polka dots on small polka dots! Super cute! Oh man, that sounds like a brutal trip. Missed connections are incontrovertibly the worst.
ReplyDeleteDude, I toss tupperware containers all the time. I buy the "disposable" ones, use them until I forget about them in the back of the fridge, and then toss immediately. No harm, no foul.
ReplyDeletexox
Yes, me too. This may or may not be true at all, but I think the disposable ones last longer than the real-deal Tupperwares sometimes. The rubber along the lid cracks on some of my pieces, bleh.
DeleteLooking great as always, Lisa! Crushing on your coral hue pencil skirt!
ReplyDeleteSwing by to enter to win a gorgeous metal collar bib necklace from LAB!

Awesome necklace and lovin those dots! The food on your trip sounds delish so 3 lbs isn't bad carnage! WTF for me: bronchitis and 3 days in bed. Awesomeness: 3 days in bed
ReplyDeleteOh no - I hope you feel better!
DeleteHehe, bronchitis for me would be "awesomeness" for some others since they would get a few days' reprieve from hearing my trap yapping!
One word came to mind as soon as the photos loaded: CHARMING! I love the coral shade of the skirt with the polkadot sweater/jumper. :)
ReplyDeleteA VERY recent awesomeness was finding a peplum dress with cutout shoulders for half the price! And the WTF? Lining up to pay for it and finding an elderly (70's) lady in front of me was wearing the exact same dress. I've never seen a senior citizen wearing a cut-out dress!
My brother literally couldn't stop laughing. I don't know what my face looked like, but it must've been hilarious!

Oh lady, I wanna see the elderly gal rock that dress! Let's hope she was buying it for her granddaughter or something!
DeleteSorrys but you made me laugh with the "bloody stumps" comment. My gawd, have I been there recently.
ReplyDeleteYou have a great figure - don't lose too much weight.
Lovely, you always look so put together. I love how this outfit is put together especially the addition of that polka dot sweater. Right now I just want to visit your closet because of this outfit...lol
ReplyDeleteI had to go buy that wildflower bracelet today, it is stunning!
