Tuesday Morning Rambles

My brain is a jumble today so I thought it'd be easier just to be random than to try to formulate an entire post (lazy-headed, I know):

"Call Me Maybe" singer whose name I have trouble spelling, you've been usurped. Who has taken over in my brain as the can't-stop-singing-it pop song of the moment? Miss Teen Queen herself, Selena Gomez with her "I, I love you like a long song, baby" tune keeps hitting "re-peat-peat-peat-peat" in my head.

I know I have the hair of a 50s housewife right now. But this at least makes my hair look like something other than a frizz ball and doesn't take much time to do. More curling iron experiments to come.

How come 30 20 grueling minutes of exercise won't negate a dinner of Krystal burgers, fries and peach ice cream?

I stood in the garage for no more than five minutes the other night and walked into the house with no fewer than four mosquito bites.

Yesterday's post talked about hiding the Crazy from potential mates at least for the first few dates. But what is considered Crazy versus something that is just deemed cute/quirky? Is a Hello Kitty toaster hoarding considered crazy or quirky? Dungeons and Dragons cosplay? How about a hobby of making voodoo dolls? Getting all emo during Disney animated movies? Dyeing your dogs to match your outfits? Getting a tattoo of your date's face on your arm after a week of seeing other?

The J.Crew bubble necklace and the bazillion copy cats out there. I don't know if I am just obsessed over the necklace and should finally buy one, or if I just notice it because it is everywhere and I am over it.

I live in the SE and still can't wrap my mind around the fact that school has already started around here. I grew up in the north where school didn't start until after Labor Day. It's still summer as far as I'm concerned, though around here, I think I am the only one who got that memo.

Currently addicted to playing Jewel Star on my Kindle. All reading before bed (or of any kind) has ceased. Except for you, Star magazine, that I receive weekly thanks to a free sub from Forever 21. I need to stay up-to-date on the latest made-up drama between KStew and RPatz - say it ain't so, Bella!

I was born sarcastic with foot-in-mouth syndrome. Are there any known cures? I've tried the alcohol method - doesn't solve my problem, but sure makes me not give a rat's ass about it ...

It's only Tuesday. The week's still fresh. You ladies got any rambles you'd like to share?

    1. Yeah, why do fried foods and things slathered in cheese have to be fattening? ;o)

  2. Such a nice outfit. I love the skirt.... and the hair :) .... AND the shoes!
I am also in the SE and mosquitos have gone CRAZY around here too, reason why I do not wear skirts in the afternoons.
Hope your week is going well,

    1. I was ignorant to think I'd be safe in my own garage. Argh, mosquitoes!

  3. LOVE the pattern mixing. AND the hair.
Rambles? School starts for my kids Friday! What happened to summer?!
I made muffins today. From Pinterest. Yummy.
I need to go for a run, but the heat is telling me otherwise.
My house desperately needs a scrubbing.
    That is all.

    1. Ooh, I have yet to actually do/make/try anything that I've pinned on Pinterest, so big props to you for the muffins. I love muffins - they're like cupcakes without the frosting.

  4. Sarcasm is not a disease; it's the cure! Release valve. I once promised my boyfriend - now husband- that I would refrain from sarcasm for a whole day and after two hours he told me to give it up. Holding it all in was making me grouchy, lol!

  5. i really want a burger. like really. but i don't want to puff out before sat. why can't burgers be fat free?!

    1. We can send people into space and build a fancy schmancy space station out in the middle of nothing, but burgers still make us fat. Sigh.

  6. Oh so many things to say here.

    1. That song is now stuck in my head as well, it's so catchy..don't tell anyone I like it...alot.
    2. You look awesome, as per usual, 50s hair or not (I think it's cute!)
    3. I think crazy refers to any sort of obsessive behavior that one knows would totally scare a guy off but chooses to ignore anyway. Voodoo dolls = crazy, hello kitty toaster = quirky
    4. Sarcasm...don't try to cure it, just let it rub off on people instead. That's my method and it's already worked on my boyfriend!
    5. Ok what is actually going on with KStew and RPat? I have not kept up on my celeb gossip and while I know cheating was involved and there may or may not have been a planned proposal that's the extent of my knowledge...please spill the info.

Also, you're now on my blogroll. Love this blog.

    1. Aw, thanks, Stephanie!

I don't know what's really going on with KStew and RPatz. They were my fave celebrity couple. Guess the girl cheated with her director from a previous film she did, pics came out of a rendezvous, KStew issued a public apology then moved out of the house she shared with RPatz and now ... who knows? I know she did a dirt bag thing, but I still kind of want them together ...

    1. In my book, the NE does the school year right. Start after Labor Day, end at the end of June - that's how I grew up with the school year. So of course it must be right. ;o)

  10. KRYSTAL!! Now I want a Club Chik.

The bubble necklace goes with ANYTHING (just like a Club Chik, actually) and I just ordered my second one off eBay last week in white. I just loved the way the white one popped off any colored shirt.

And as you can see in today's post, I need the kids back in school. They, and their mommas, are stressing me out when I mall walk at lunch.

    1. Mall walk at lunch ... that sounds dangerous for the wallet. I used to intern on 34th Street right across the street from Macy's Herald Square - it was baaaaaaaad, in a good way.

  11. Ok, your hair is darling. I love it!

I just ordered THREE faux bubble necklaces off eBay yesterday. Navy, white and black. They really do go with everything! And if I get sick of them, who cares, they were only $14.

I am really mad that Hunt's ketchup, which I switched to a few months ago after realizing it is made with sugar and Heinz is not, is now also made with high fructose corn syrup! They are so lame, seriously. It was emblazoned on the bottle, "No high fructose corn syrup!", and now they quietly started using it and the bottle now says, "All natural!", as if that means anything/is fooling anyone. I hate that kind of crap. What ever happened to being a real company and standing for something? I guess I shouldn't expect that from a giant like Con Agra. But hmph!

  17. I love your Forever 21 necklace, such a great place for neat, inexpensive costume jewelry.

Mostly those eBay knockoff J. Crew bubble necklaces make me crazy, but it may simply be that I'm real jealous 'cause I'm too short to pull one off :(

I have permanent scars on my legs from mosquito bites. I've been a magnet for the li'l blood suckers since I was a kid.

  18. Loved all your ramblings Lisa and I have had the SAME inner turmoil over the babble necklace. Argh! Also, that is why I try to stay away from local radio--they play the same songs over and over and they are bound to stick in your head.

Love the pattern mixing girl! That skirt is too cute!
