You know me. There are some things I hate with absolutely no logical reason. But as much as I like to randomly assign animosity to things or people who have never done me any wrong, I can also just as easily feel sheer elation at the thought of certain things or beings that I have absolutely not an inkling of experience with.
I'm not talking about things with meaning here, like loving when the I get cuddled by the pup (or BF for that matter) or rereading a favorite novel or going to DisneyWorld, one of my fave places on the planet. I'm talking about getting giddy over a whole lotta who knows why.
And these items of unwarranted favoritism? Well, in no particular order (because that would be playing favorites, right):
And these items of unwarranted favoritism? Well, in no particular order (because that would be playing favorites, right):

Mini Coopers. Especially the new ones with the fat tires that only enhance the bulbous shape. I think I've ridden in a Mini maybe(?) once in my life.
The prospect of lunch.
Male actors from the UK. Like Ralph Fiennes. Michael Fassbender. Christian Bale. Actually, nix Christian Bale because I have about 2,674,386 reasons why I adore him.
Maruchan chicken flavor ramen.
Tutu skirts. Never had one, never tried one, will never buy one. But - love!

"Monchhichi, monchhichi, so soft and cuddle-y." I don't think I've ever even seen one and don't really know where the tune came from, but I can mumble that jingle to myself all day long.
Marshmallow Peeps. They taste terrible, they fight well.
Call Me Maybe by Carly Rae Jepsen. Can't. Get. This. Fluffy. Song. Out. Of. My. Head.
Gummy things. Like bears. Worms. Cola bottles. Fruit shapes.
Pinning things I'll never wear, eat, make, buy, cook, craft, do on Pinterest. Wanna follow my boards, haha?!
Kristen Stewart.
Really dark stained wood floors. I bet they are hellacious to keep clean.

Heinz Ketchup. No other brand of ketchup will do.
Thinking who would play a good Christian Grey. Though I honestly don't want to see a movie version of the book series. And I only read one of the books. The third one. And didn't like it.

Heart or star patterns on clothes. Even though I don't own a single garment with either pattern.
Monograms. I know what my name is - so should everyone else, I guess.

I'll be mostly absent from blogdom this week due to work - please enter my Too Much Soul giveaway while I'm away!

I love hearing more about you and the things you love! Your necklace is adorable, hope work isn't too stressful this week!
ReplyDeleteI love your accessories! I can't get Call Me Maybe out of my head either! lol
ReplyDeleteMaria
Dainty and Decadent
Ha, I can't think of anything that I love for no reason. I mean, I share your love of British actors, but that's totally warranted...they have great accents!
ReplyDeleteLove the necklace with that top, but I love everything turquoise so it's not a surprise... :)
I almost bought that exact top this weekend in Chicago! But I decided to wait and reconsider next month when I'm back in a tax-free state, heh. Can't quite stomach the 9.5% sales tax out here.
ReplyDeleteI love circus peanuts and tootsie rolls. My favorite ever. My husband hate both, so he thinks I am crazy. Nothing like cheap candy for me! I also love some brits (except Hugh Grant. He always seems to need a good punch in the face)
ReplyDeleteYour lists are always super fun! Have a good work week!
It´s a nice summer look!
ReplyDeleteHaha, is there a reason why you skipped to the third 50 Shades of Grey and didn't read the rest? I feel like the third book wouldn't make much sense unless you read the others. I'm dying to know who they cast in the movie!

The Tiny Heart
That asymmetric top looks stellar on you! So fun for the hot days!
ReplyDeleteI have an uncanny love for Steven Tyler- I don't know why- I know he has a freakishly large mouth and has more scarves than I do- but I just love him. LOL
You look so cute! I just love all of your jewelry. I love the prospect of lunch too... or any meal for that matter. Thanks for stopping by, I'd love for us to follow each other and keep in touch! :)

You're so funny! I love the prospect of going out to eat and I want to know exactly where, it's not good enough to know we're going "somewhere!" I love wearing my tutu skirt, too. And driving a Mini is pretty awesome, it definitely boosts my self esteem when I drive my husband's, as opposed to my ancient Honda Civic (which I love!)!
ReplyDelete--Vivienne
Love those neutral shoes! Perfect for summer :)
ReplyDelete<3, natasha @ twenty-something blog
Hearing a child/baby laugh, there is nothing more precious, when it's noon and I can eat lunch, seeing a cute dog walk by and dreaming about my future dog and taking a trip to the bookstore and loading up on a stack of new magazines and an ice tea,
ReplyDeleteLove the top!!
LOVE this list and LOVE this outfit! We share SO many of the same "likes". :) I should do a list like this on my blog, but I've been slacking altogether. LOL!
ReplyDeletehttp://bestdressedinthenest.tumblr.com/
What pretty rings! Can I just take a sec to thank you for consisting keeping a blog that doesn't make me want to stab my eyes out? It's always fresh, honest, and funny!
ReplyDeleteOk, things that I like for no good reason ... stale bread, K. Stew (I hate myself for this one), the Olsen twins, burnt pieces of meat, Tom Cruise (that man should be studied under a microscope!), books on FLDS (don't ask; can't explain!!!).
LOL I have the same adoration for tutus! I blame Carrie Bradshaw personally. Also, I love when people can do makeup. Mostly because I can't. And veggie trays.
ReplyDeleteYep, I'm loving Call Me Maybe too, and I'm very brand-loyal to Heinz as well. I also love ice cream, Coke (no, Pepsi is NOT the same), checking off my to-do list, and the word grapefruit in French (Pamplemousse!).
ReplyDeleteOh, good! I thought I was alone on the Heinz thing!
ReplyDeleteI love yours! Mine is when someone does something genuinely nice for me. It truly touches me. Lisa, I am loving your outfit. So cool girl and those shoes are BAD! Love em! Have a great week.
ReplyDeletehttp://www.averysweetblog.com/
hah i love this, this is so much fun! also, i want your necklace.
ReplyDeletei love stripes. and chevron (even tho i have nothing in this print..)ADORE.
i don't understand leather jeggings.
i have a love hate relationship with high heels. i love the look, but they hurt my feet.
I love Kristen Stewart, too! I will probably cry if she and Rob ever break up :(
ReplyDeleteI do not think it's illogical to love mini coopers (hello, most adorable car ever) or british actors (um, sexy accents) and really who needs extensive rationalizations for liking things anyway? I will probably love every device apple creates, every article of clothing i can find that is covered in sequins, and every blue car I see becuase I think blue is the best color for a car, ever.
ReplyDeleteChic on the Cheap
Ha Ha!!! I have a 10 yr old at home...can you imagine all the songs that get stuck in my head!!! oye..I love stripes and vibrant colors but always oooh over people dressed in black...they always look so classic..I hate when people wear chunky, too high heels and walk akward...like if the wind blows, they will tip over...I hate when I know more about a store than the sales girls that work there...those are a few things that came to my mind...
ReplyDeletethanks so much

Call me is such an addictive song, can't get it off our heads too. Loyal to coke, and like Shea said Pepsi is not the same. You look great - love the neutral tones, beautifully styled with the accessories.

Yes to the gummies! My irrational loves include anything navy blue and anything that comes in cute little shapes. I once bought a can of pineapple cut into sea animal shapes. It makes no sense when I think about it (how are sea animals and pineapple related?), but I just had to get it. :)
ReplyDeleteVery fun top and that bracelet is gorgeous. :)
You had me at gummie bears...and this outfit :) For no good reason I love old Degrassi Junior High episodes. It's a Canadian thing :)
ReplyDeleteI remember watching Degrassi on PBS when I was little - I think it was when the kids hit high school. Ah, big hair times.
DeleteI love this outfit! Especially the shoes of course!
ReplyDeleteHmmm... ballet flats... stripes... Confessions of a Shopaholic series:p... teeny surprises... WNTW/Clinton Kelly (haha)... that same book series that I also feel weird about seeing a movie version as much as I dig the books (hehe)... I can keep going, this is so much fun! Thanks!:) And love your rings!
ReplyDeleteI really like your outfit today...I'm going to have to check out Anthro for that shirt. It's really cute. Some of my favorite things that puts an insta-smile on my face include fresh baked bread, ice cream, barbecue anything and shopping of course. I'm a big fan of the Call Me Maybe song too. I heard it this morning on my way to work and it really perked me up for the day.
ReplyDeletecute top, it's now on my wishlist! And loving your jewelry too.
ReplyDeletelisa you are adorable! i love this look!!!
ReplyDeletestill being [molly]
I like your shirt. And references to pop culture.
ReplyDeleteI really like to read into why people like certain things. It's fun!
Just found your blog and love this post haha...its so true! I have random little things I love for no reason also...like small things (small soda cans, mostly) because I think they are cute. Does that even make sense?? Also, I just joined pinterest and do the same. I pin things thinking "I'm TOTALLY making this" knowing full well it will never happen. Looking forward to following your blog!
ReplyDeleteStephanie
Haha...this post totally cracked me up. I too spend time thinking about who would play Christian Grey. And my husband just rolls his eyes when I crank up the volume to "Call Me Maybe."
ReplyDeleteXO - Marion
I love period piece romance movies!! And of course chocolate and lattes!
ReplyDeleteSince you love "Call me Maybe", have you seen this version....

Aw, thanks, Londyn!
DeleteI love reading your posts, whether I agree or disagree. I have too many irrational, inexplicable things I love. But I feel compelled to comment on some of yours ;)
ReplyDelete-The prospect of lunch. - agreed
-Maruchan chicken flavor ramen. - LOL, but agreed
-Tutu skirts. - hmm, weird, but OK I kind of get this one, I wore one when I was a little girl taking ballet lessons, makes you feel like a princess or want to twirl
-Heinz Ketchup. - ha, thought I was the only person to notice, agreed
-Heart or star patterns on clothes. - agreed and I own too many garments with hearts or stars
I just noticed my comments are all food and clothes related ...
Food and clothes - that's about all that consumes my free time, haha.
Deletei love call me maybe too. my 3 year old's pre-school teacher was humming it and my daughter shouted out to the whole class that it was her mommy's favorite song. so embarassed!
ReplyDeletewww.pearlsandgreentea.com
I'm right there with you on the gummy candy. Dang. I could suck back an entire bag of sour gummy candy and then curl up in the fetal wondering why my stomach hurts. Hmmmmm, I wonder why?! DUH
ReplyDeleteGreat post !
ReplyDeleteReally like your jewelry
Love your outfit so much!!
You look amazing
Just stopped by your blog!
Loved it instantly so I have no choice but to follow you around!!

Super cute post, Lisa. You have such a gift for this kind of writing. :) Doesn't hurt that your outfits are totally adorable either.
ReplyDeleteI love mini's, no shame in that! :)
ReplyDeleteAlso, are you being discreet on purpose, or is that a new sparkle on your left hand?
xox
Ok, so in a little more perusing (stalking, really), that sparkle shows up sometimes but not others...so now I'm REALLY curious. :)
Deletexox
Haha, nothing to be curious about. Most times I take my pics in the AM before work so I'm still "fresh" - and I take my ring off when I get ready, so sometimes I haven't put it back on!
DeleteMonchichi was a funny looking little monkey doll. How'd you get the commercial jingle in your head? lol I love your handbag. So cute!
ReplyDeleteI blame one of my friends. He would sing that jingle sometimes. I never knew what it was but the jingle stuck. Dang, those marketing guys are good.
DeleteGreat list! LOVE those shoes and the top is perfect! I am currently obsessed with buying TV series (entire seasons and entire runs) on DVD and watching them. Yes, I have lots of other crap to do so it's crazy!!
