Monday Morning Rambles

Hello Monday, do you ladies! Here's an inkling of how rambling my mind can be:

Short hair bed head is no bueno. Suddenly all my hair products and accessories don't work right on my hair.

Pup may have allergies. Or pink eye. Or dust in her eyes. Or she may have picked up a weird habit of creepily winking at me from the other dogs at the park.

I must have a sixth sense when unexpected visitors are about to drop by. Because I busted my butt cleaning up the guest bedroom on Saturday morning and come Saturday afternoon - surprise - I had guests.

Non-coffee drinkers should not make coffee for coffee drinkers. That said, coffee drinkers should not complain about the bad coffee made by non-coffee drinker because non-coffee drinker was being gracious and nice and coffee drinkers were lazy and couldn't scoop their own dang beans.

It's already begun. I no longer put on cologne in the mornings because I mist myself in the sweet sweet scent of DEET before I leave the house each day. Then proceed to hack and choke on it in the confines of my car.

I just placed an order with J.Crew for more clothes but I don't want to spend the money to upgrade my ancient Blackberry to something that is more up-to-date - say, circa 2008? Priorities ...

I am wearing a lot of white today. Errant ketchup packets and just-painted walls are giddy with their potential field day.

There are the rumblings of something bump-ly growing on/in my chin. I have a feeling it is going to be angry because I keep poking at it. Enjoy the chin pic below while it still appears its normal size and shape.

And with that randomness done ... what are you ladies? Have a fine rambling or two to share with everyone on this fine Monday?

  1. Oh mosquitoes love you too? I, too, attract mosquitoes like crazy and yes, Deet works but the scent, oh no. So now I just put Off Skintastic and it works, not as well as Deet but ok.

    1. I need to use some heavy-duty stuff because they are still biting me! I may pass myself out one day though, haha!

  2. I swear I am a mosquito magnet and then after they bite me, I am left with scars for the rest of my life. Ugh!

I'm loving this outfit, as usual. That lipstick color is SO pretty on you. What is it?

  3. already fighting the mosquitoes here too!

this outfit is so crisp and fun... I love it.

hubs has graciously shared his sicky germs, so I think I'm coming down with the crud... however, since he was sick in bed all weekend I also managed to get a ton of cleaning done (hello, clean shower!)... and break the dryer. ah well, you win some... you lose some.

  5. My husband left me alone today with my two small boys. Apparently you need to work to provide for your family?! I am 5 days post- op abdominal surgery and can not lift more than 10 lbs. SO changing 27 lb toddler diapers has been a challenge. We haven't gotten to the whole "it's nap time-get him into the crib" scenerio yet. Happy Monday to all ;)

I adore your skirt and shoes. So lovely. I put on mascara today. That is my big fashion success of the day.

  8. Oh Lisa! You are hilarious and I love chuckling through your posts. Yes to the chin-mountain-growth (on me, not you). Yes to spending money on things I so don't need (that swimsuit was on sale at Anthro; I don't care I just bought one from J.Crew!). And yes to Deet ... oh man, I was bitten on the EYELID last week while on vacation. Cyclops on the beaches of Kauai: hawt.

  11. I feel it is acceptable to complain about bad coffee or tea, even if the act is gracious...better still, it is optimal to closely supervise their production of said coffee or tea to make sure it's done to your/my satisfaction. "DON'T PUT THE MILK BEFORE YOU POUR THE TEA!!" Yes, I've said this. :P

My dog Jinx has seasonal allergies...it's the worst. Poor thing mopes around the house for months till the pollen goes away. The only thing we can do is give him Benadryl.:(

  18. Love these kinds of posts. My mind often works this way. Pup allergies are the worst BTW..mine dealt with them for a while (she'd break out in hives if she ever came into contact on the carpet with any kind of spray - air freshener, cleaner, etc.). A change of diet seems to have cured her.

Anyway, love this outfit! That skirt is so cute!

    1. Thanks! I may have to give pup another day or two to see if things just clear up on their own or if I need to take her to the vet. Pacey goes to the vet more than BF and I go to the doc combined - partly because she gets into stuff, and probably because I have worried mama syndrome.

  22. First I love the skirt and the shoes with it is just divine! Second, OMG I refuse to upgrade my ancient Blackberry too! When the guy at the phone store tried to sell me a touch screen, I had a meltdown. WhAt??

  23. The buggers love me too. Don't forget exploding pens and unidentified gooey substance on your desk when wearing white. And I ALWAYS rub up against a dirty car when I have white on.

That skirt is darling. But was it a subconscious reflection of your random thoughts? ;)

  24. Ahhh... DEET! That cracked me up. You just can't get more eau naturale than that. ;)

  28. i love those shoes and the necklace is gorgeous! i also spend money on clothes rather than updating my phone! :)

  29. heehee...I have the same priorities. I went runnning regularly in taped-together sneakers before having the brain-wave of asking for new ones for christmas! Heaven forbid I would spend 100$ on useful sneakers for myself when there are $400 chie miharas calling my name...

your puppy is totally winking at you, cutie!

  30. I am so going to knock you off.

Wait, that sounds bad. Knock off your outfit that is.

Will it make you feel any better about pimples if I tell you I still get them at almost 50 y/o?

    No? I didn't think so :P

  31. I will absolutely spend money on clothes before phones!!! Your outfit is gorgeous, especially the SHOES! And oh yeah, I agree with the coffee comment, as well. Don't offer me coffee if you don't know how to make it! Or just let me do it... :)

  33. Fingers crossed no mosquito bites for me this summer. I love that skirt and all white in the summer is always perfect.

My rambling from Monday was a random work day where I did nothing and went home early. Finally went to see MIB 3 after eating a burger at my favorite diner. Yes, joining the gym soon my waist is expanding...haha.
