Hair Less

Remember this post? Well ... it is done.I am officially shorn.

And while I am still mentally vascillating between elation at a major physical change for myself, sheer what-did-I-do terror, pat-myself-on-the-back bravery, and hesitation at what would everyone else think - it's really too late to do anything about it now anyways, isn't it.

I do know that I can't stop playing around with my hair now. My head feels so much lighter. My frizzy split ends are gone. I can feel the breeze on the back of my neck. I got some fresh new hair for summer. (Though short hair problem I had forgotten about? Waking up in the morning and having hair stick out in directions unintended - and staying that way).

Don't you love that "new 'do" feeling you get after hitting the salon? No matter the cost, I feel like there's something indulgent about having someone else wash your head and blow out your hair. "New hair" makes me feel like dressing up (or in this case, down) and going out to do something special, regardless of the day of the week.

What do you like to do when you come back from getting your hair did?

    1. Thanks - though I did forget this is about the perfect length for the bottom of my hair to end up wanting to stick every which way!

  6. It's lovely! Very ladylike, professional and just a liiiittle bit bouncy and youthful. It really works great with casual outfits too. You picked well!

  7. I love the new hair. It looks so great on you. I always love getting my hair done at the salon. Somehow my stylist can make my hair look like "model" amazing hair with just her round brush and a blow dryer. I can not do that on my own, so I love getting it done. Love the bright pops of color in your outfits!

    1. Absolutely! Because the stylist can do to my hair what I am completely incapable of. Just wait until this weekend when I wash this "salon hair" out and then have to wrangle with it myself to see what really happens, haha!

  8. I love the new 'do. It really frames your face well. I cut my hair short a few months ago and couldn't stop playing with it for days. Have fun with it!

  10. Love the cut, it suits you like a perfect J. Crew tee. I chopped about 8 inches off of my hair back in March. I agree with the bed head, not a good look when I take the pups out 1st thing. I'm already thinking about growing my hair out again. I'm too lazy for the upkeep.

    1. Yeah, bedhead is going to be the worse. Totally didn't think about that part!

    1. I got these in my usual J.Crew pants size and I would say they fit TTS. I'm typically a 2P/0 in the skirts, 2/4P in the pants.

  15. I love your new do Lisa, and I can see that it is pushing you in some new directions stylistically, always fun to reinvent yourself. I think this new hair wuits you personality and gives you more edge. Of course it is more upkeep so the real value of a haircut only shows later, when you find out what you can do with it on your own, but I think this hairstyle will work for you well. It looks like you can still put it up if you wanted to, just in case for those sticking out days.
Actually this post (and the previous one) have perfect timing for me as I have gotten a new, much shorter cut (also a bob) and changed color as well. I will have a post about it this weekend.

    1. Ooh, I can't wait to see your hair! I haven't washed out my "salon hair" yet so we'll see how I really feel when I wash it and have it handle the styling completely on my own! ;o)

  16. Great hair 'do! I haven't changed my hair style in years due to I hate the growing out phase. Your new hair cut is adorable. I like the lenght and it seems like there's a little layering going on for volume on top that makes it more interesting than a regular flat bob.

  17. the new cut is very cute!
I'm one of the few weirdos who doesn't like getting my hair cut; for the cost, I've never felt pampered or relaxed, I liken it more to going to the dentist, only I go to the dentist more often than I get my hair cut.

Jeans and a white tee are always so classic and cute!

    1. Oh no, salon to dentist?! I jack my hair up too much when I am left to my own devices - if I don't at least go to the salon every few months, my hair would be a wreck!

  18. Lisa, your new haircut is SO CUTE. I love the way it frames your face. Did you get any keratin treatment done for the sleek effect? I really want to chop off my hair too but don't want to spend the extra time in the mornings with a straightener.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. I am going to sound dumb here but I don't know what a keratin treatment is - which most likely means I didn't get one. My stylist flat ironed my a hair a bit and that was pretty much it - though that does make me think that all my hair "gadgets" that I have now are all wrong for my length hair now.

      Delete
    2. Hehe, it's ok. I didn't either until a friend told me about it. Keratin is a chemical treatment that will basically take away the frizziness and leave you with straight/pretty straight hair, so there would be no need for flat ironing in the mornings. I'd be curious to hear about your hair routine after you get used to this haircut.

      Delete
    3. Do your research before getting the keratin treatment, I think there were concerns about formaldehyde in the formulation a while back.

  25. Your hair looks wonderful! I also loooooooove getting my hair done. I could sit in the chair & let someone play with my hair every single day. I always feel like going out too. I'm going next week & I can't wait! I recently spaced my appointments to 12 weeks instead of 8 & I'm kinda dying over all the split ends I've been discovering.

I really love both these looks too. One of my favorite looks of ALL TIME is a white tee with jeans & heels. Have a GREAT weekend! Enjoy that new hair!!

  26. Ah! You got your hairs did!! It looks fantastic! Nice and fresh for summer :) I haven't gotten my hair done in FOREVER so I can't quite remember the feeling... but I DO remember when I had a super short pixie cut and I'd get it cleaned up I used to love to run my hands all over it and feel my head - I know lots of girls aren't short hair people, but, man - that was a cool feeling!

    1. I've always been envious of gals who could rock a pixie - like Halle Berry or Ginnifer Goodwin. I am not nearly brave enough to pull it off, plus my head is pretty round, I am pretty sure I'd end up looking more 6th-grade boy than gamine muse.

Ha ha , first I thought you are going to feature cute hairless puppy as a newest must have accessory and then I read closely- it's hair less, not hairless.:)))I like your style, it's chic and easy to manage, I think you'll enjoy it too. Best part? Hair will grow back and you can decide what do next, it's fun to change.
