Colorblock

I know that I am borderline channeling a cruise ship director here, but it being spring break season, what better time to break out some bold and bright solids? All I need is a clipboard and megaphone (do people still use megaphones, or am I behind the times?) and I'm ready! All aboard for colorblocking!

Pacey wants you to know that in honor of it being Tuesday, it is time for the next Respect the Outfits reader feature! This time, at my pup's request because she wants proof that she is not the only pet made to wear funny pins and to pose in front of a shiny flashing box, we're going to feature You & Your Pets (check out the last reader/pets feature here)!

Send in an outfit pic with you and your adorable animal(s) - tell me your outfit details, your pet name and your blog link, if applicable. And it doesn't have to be a specific new outfit/pet pic either - if you have a great fashionable pic of you and your dog/cat/snake/fish/hamster/ant farm, send it in! We all love checking out each other's great style and cuddly companions!

Feature will go up next Thursday, May 5, so please send me your pics by Wednesday evening! Pics can be sent to respecttheshoes(at)live.com. Thanks for keeping this great feature going, ladies!

  1. I ADORE your shoes and how you've dressed them (I'm a firm believer of shoes being the most important part of an outfit).
Really great color combinations, vivid and great for the season.
    Have a fab day!

  2. I've never been on a cruise, so I can't say for sure, but when I think cruise director I think ugly oversize polyester suit - you look way more stylin' than that!

  3. I think it's the jacket that gives it that nautical feel but without it you've got some great colors for colorblocking! I really like the top!

  4. I think you did great at colorblocking! I still need to give it a try! Aww, Pacey looks pretty!

  5. I LOVE this color pairing, Lisa. No cruise ship director vibe from me :) I've been wanting to try the colorblocking trend, but two bold colors seem so in-your-face to me. The neutral jacket really tones the overall look down a bit -- I'll have to remember that!

  18. Yeah, cruise directors don't look 1/10 as chic as your outfit. I love the blue and green pairing.

Aww, you dog is too cute, especially in the last pic that looks like he's saying, she made me wear this silly flower. :)
I wish I could take part in your next reader outfit feature, but sadly I don't have any pets. I will get a dog one day (name: Prada Miu Miu)when I have more space.

  20. Ant farm, lolololol. I love it! Well, not really -- I mean, ants give me the heebie jeebies.

I totally don't see a cruise ship director here. I see an outfit I want to copy. That blazer is INCREDIBLE. You look so spring/summer ready! I really love a good colorblocking, and you succeeded here!

  24. I don't see cruise director here at all. I think you look so totally on trend! I've been wanting to get on board with color blocking, but I've realized that I don't really have any bright solid colored bottoms! I'm going to need to remedy this situation! I also have to mention that I'm really digging the cut out detailing on the blouse! It's such a subtle but nice detail!
