I drifted towards this top at my local H&M because it is a beautiful pale pinky/nudy shade of ballerina pink and it reminded me mildly of the Anthro Free Flow tank. And I thought by layering this necklace over the top, it would make take the pink away from my face a bit (i.e., make me look less like death warmed over). The cardi was a must as I get cold every time the temp dips below 65 degrees (I'm such a chill chicken!) and I braved skinnies today to complete my look.
My fave new acquisition? This gorgeous necklace from White Owl on Etsy. They make really fabulous jewelry out of vintage lace and I've been eyeballing their stuff forever. This necklace is so light and seemingly easy to wear that I may have go back for more ...
Top: H&M (now in stores - similar online here or Free Flow-like here or with black here)
Sweater: J. Crew marled wool cardigan (worn here before - similar-ish online here or here, fringy here)
Jeans: Forever 21 skinny (who else can sell jeans for $9.50?!)
Shoes: UO Kimchi Blue wingtip (worn here before - preppy version here, luxe here)
Necklace: White Owl via Etsy (sequin-y alternate here, blinged out here)

Lisa, you look adorable and cozy today!!! I'm a HUGE fan of F21 skinnies, as you know.
ReplyDeleteCan I sent a reader outfit with just one J.Crew piece, or does it have to be head-to-toe J.Crew?
I love your outfit today! You're so lucky you can wear skinnies to work. I need to try those F21 skinnies out. Right now my fave skinnies are from BP at Nordies. Haha. Love cheap jeans!
ReplyDeleteI love this! I'm sort of lusting after anything in that ballet pink color right now. I wear my f21 skinnies more than the expensive ones I bought. They fit better:) And, those shoes are to die for!
ReplyDeleteKim - after seeing you rock yours, I had to get them too! And for $10, I figured I didn't have much to lose!
ReplyDeleteAs for the Crew outfit, it definitely doesn't need to be head-to-toe, one pie is perfectly appropriate!
Cindi - I love me some cheap everything! ;o)
Courtnee - Go to H&M! They have so much stuff there right now in that ballet pink color, I had to refrain myself when I was there!
I love White Owl. I actually made a few necklaces that were inspired by what they make for our weekend craft project a year or so ago! I am wearing one today even!
ReplyDeleteMy dear Lisa!
ReplyDeleteYou have to know this as this is a fact - your photos ALWAYS make me smile or laugh! Either way, they brighten me up!

Cuuuuute! I love it! That necklace is WOW. The close-up really shows off that lovely lace! I think the cardigan and flowy top are just gorgeous, and those shoes are amazing! You shouldn't be afraid to rock the skinnies -- you look stunning in them!
ReplyDeleteSupercute look here. I love the ruffles of course!
ReplyDeleteI sent you my J. Crew outfit a few weeks ago. Did you receive it?

I totally do that: get it in my head that I want to wear a certain item or a certain combo and then literally cannot live in a world where that doesn't happen!
ReplyDeleteI love your new necklace and it looks so great with your whole outfit! Great job!
I love that necklace. it's gorgeous! And your outfit is so feminine and cozy.
ReplyDeleteWow! You look awesome. The outfit is so girly. I loved how you toned down the lace and ruffles with the Cardi and skinnies. Anthro has a similiar necklace in White for $200. I like the Etsy necklace even more. Those T straps are gorgeous. It's a treat to see the lovely Lisa all dolled up.
ReplyDeleteYou look marvelous!!! I love this outfit on you, whether it's "you" or not!
ReplyDeleteThat blouse is fantastic, the skinnies are gorgeous on you and I simply adore that necklace!
LOVE your ruffles....the necklace is fab hunnie!!!

I love this outfit, but you know what I love even more? The pic where you're holding your cardigan open and making that face. You have almost a guilty expression on your face, like you just flashed someone lolol! Love it ^o^
ReplyDeleteThe ruffle top is so soft and pretty on you! We are only in the 30's here - brrrrrrrrrrr!

This is such a pretty outfit! I love that flowy top!
ReplyDeleteLOVE this look, especially the top. I need to keep my eyes out the next time I'm at H&M! I say this is still a "Lisa look" because you incorporated a J.Crew item in ;)
ReplyDeleteYour outfit turned out great! I've definitely had those days where I end up wearing something that just isn't "me", but that's the fun of fashion!
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh, I love this outfit! The top really is fabulous, and I think its a great color, and the necklace just works with it! And those shoes are pretty fabulous too! Oh, I get ideas about things I want to wear stuck in my head all the time, and sometimes just get totally stumped on how to make it work! And I so do not like the cold! Stay warm!! :)
ReplyDeleteYou need to rock those skinnies more often because you look great in them!!
ReplyDeletethe entire outfit is perfection. I love the feminine look of the tank with the rocker-esque look of the jeans. so great!
Ady - that necklace of yours is gorgeous! I can't believe you made that yourself!
ReplyDelete20 York Street - I'm here to entertain! ;o)
eek - definitely! I've been behind on e-mails this week, but yes, I've got your outfit, thanks so much!
Laura - I did feel kind of dressed up today, even though I was in jeans. But lace and chiffon can make any gal feel feminine!
Tara B - you know me, I can only hold a serious pose for a pic or two before Goofy shows up! ;o)
Matt - cold bad.
I thought at first the necklace was part of the top. They go great together! I really love the color combination of this outfit.
ReplyDeleteThere's usually one thing I want to wear, or I'll look around till I find one thing I want to wear, and then I build the outfit around that. A lot of the time it doesn't work out but I'm learning, I hope.
What a gorgeous necklace Lisa! it looks so intricate and oh-so-pretty. It looks wonderful with your ballerina pink top. Your poses are too cute :-)
ReplyDeleteThat necklace looks like it BELONGS with that top! Beautiful.
ReplyDeleteAs a side note, your mantel looks fabulous. So pretty and festive!
Merry Merry.
Leaving the House in THIS?!?!
I love this whole outfit! That lace necklace is simply amazing!
ReplyDeleteI heard you say lace and I thought, hmm. But that close up of it, I have to say that necklace is gorgeous. I love it!!! Will definitely be checking out this Etsy shop now.
ReplyDeleteI love that necklace, Lisa! It figures you found it on Etsy... I am always seeing gems like this on there :)
ReplyDeleteI basically skipped to the comments section the minute I saw your shoes!! They are adorable! Hoping to find them at my local UO tonight :) Have a good weekend! xo
