This is totally inspired by popular features created by Kim, Cat and Aimee: I think we all like to share our outfit choices and take inspiration from each other so Reader Outfits is always something of great interest in fashion blogs (plus that means you don't have to see just me all the time, haha).

I've always wanted to do my own reader outfits feature but with a twist - we'll do something different every week. No challenges and nothing complicated, but a great way for us to hopefully have a few laughs and share some fashion.

So introducing the new Respect the Outfits feature and Week 1's subject: Send me your outtakes!

That's right - we always take a bunch of pics for our outfits and and select the best ones, but what about the tons of unseen outfit pics that never make it? Did the photo get snapped when you weren't prepared? Were you totally out of frame? Were you just over it? Were you trying a new pose that just didn't work?

Send me those photos! The funnier the better! Please give me your outfit creds too and I'll post them this Thursday - send your outtakes to respecttheshoes(at)live.com. Here are some of mine:

  1. Those are really funny outtakes! You seem quite limber in the red sweater!! (love that anthropologie ruffle blouse).

  2. LOL Oh man I'm sure I have some out takes (timer going off when I wasn't ready....me talking to myself etc, etc) but I'm not brave enough to send them to you ;)

  3. haha so great! I've always thought about posting my own bad ones so ppl could laugh with me, but they always get pruned out due to space! I'll happily send you some of mine hehe :)

  4. That is the most FUN idea ever - I know I have lots of material to choose from, too! Love it, love it.

And REALLY love it with your sweater/blouse pairing - hello? Were those two pieces made for each other or what - you look beautiful!

  5. I love this idea! Outtakes are so funny to me - bloopers are always my favorite part of movies! I'll try to get a good outtake this week...my computer is dead so pictures are trapped on there for now :( I'm so excited to see the feature, though! :)

  9. love it - great new feature and great way to start!!

  10. Fun idea, but kinda sad that you felt the need to subtly bash other bloggers' ideas to promote your own, no? Wonder if anyone else caught that.

  11. Hahaha at the outtakes! My fav has got to be the first one.

  12. i love this look best on you, Lisa! double frills are such a wonderful idea. . and you look lovely, esp. when paired with that pair of shoes.

  14. Thanks for your positive comments about the outtakes feature, ladies. I hope we get a lot of participation and have a few good laughs over each other's outtakes - I've certainly taken more than my own share of haphazardly taken photos, especially since I am at the mercy of myself, my wonky camera and my timer!

Callandra - I haven't meant to take that pic but I just didn't feel like I was taking any good outfit pics that day and I was over the whole OOTD stuff. That was me physically expressing "ugh!"

curls-and-pearls - no worries - I've got some pics that are so bad that they will never see the light of day, especially the ones where I was actually trying to pose and end up looking ridonkulous, and not even in a funny way!

Lori - please share if you like!

Jan - I wasn't sure if I was "over-frilling" but the colors made me do it!

Erin - ack, sorry about your computer! I'd be like a bug on my back if something happen to my computer!

    AppGal - thanks, me too!

    Thanks, Melanie, minnja and Peggy!

Farrah - I've read my post over and over again and I must be thick as a stump but don't see where I am being disespectful about other bloggers. If it came across like that to you, I apologize and I assure you that was not my intention. I read and follow Kim, Cat and Aimee and love their style and blogs!

Cee - I am Queen in my own mind of the outtakes - most times over half of my pics are immediately "not outfit post worthy" bc I can't ever take myself seriously for too long!

Thanks, devilishlypleasurable - I'm trying to hard to break out the fall gear bc that is what I want to wear, but it's so hard when it's still in the 80s in the SE!

  16. Great color combo. If it weren't for the upclose shot I would have never noticed that the flowers have a hint of that blue. Great outfit!
