I am a daughter, sister, girlfriend. I was born in Taiwan but grew up in the States so I'm Chinese-illiterate. I plan shows and events for a living. I like to eat, read, hike. I enjoy fashion, clothes, styling, blogging. I am learning to like going to the gym and playing racquetball. I am kind of klutzy, reserved, silly, geeky, wry, sarcastic. I like to cook, do yoga, watch trashy TV or play the Wii to de-stress. I don't have any pets but really want a dog. I don't know if I want kids. I have freckles and still kind of hate them. I like going to different places but hate getting there. I don't need to talk about every little thing. I'm probably mildly OCD. I can't decorate a house to save my life but I am still trying. I'm secretly cheap. I still don't know what I want to be when I grow up.

I'm also a total kook, if you haven't already guessed it.

So that's me in a nutshell. Now your turn - who are you? What do you do aside from blog?

  2. Hi lisa
You look so sophisticated in your outfit, the grey pencil skirt is so classic.
Hmm, lets see, I was born in Australia and have been here all more life, but I have a chinese background. I just got married last December.
I also like cooking especially for other people, although i can only follow recipes. I can't create my own dishes yet.
I've just gotten into this whole blogging business and really enjoy it.
I don't live anywhere near an Anthro store, but it's my favourite chain store!
Other than that, i like hanging out with my friends, getting pampered, travelling, dressing up and Gossip Girl! - i've met Ed Westwick - omg, he's gorgeous!! I will blog about it one day.
    CHeers!

  3. I too am mildly OCD, although my husband claims it is getting worse and tbh I think he is right! Think I touched on that when you posted about chores and I mentioned stacking the dishwasher?!

New to Anthro this year so loving all the blogs but I don't have one myself. I receive endless inspiration and styling tips from the ones I follow and that's good enough for me!

  4. Great post! I, too, am mildly OCD and have control issues. But I can admit that and that's the first step, right? I wear many hats in my profession, but only get paid for one (the cheapest, of course)I love the read, travel, take naps, and be with friends.

  11. I love this outfit - pencil skirts are always a good choice!

I am a daughter and sister. I graduated college two years ago but can't let go quite yet. I love baking, but rarely eat what I bake. I'm becoming a gravy making fiend. I'm tired.

Haha, that's about all I feel right now!

  15. Wahoo, what a classy outfit. =0D I love the mint green shoes what a clever pairing with the gold belt and yellow top!

Oh, who am I? I'm boring. LOL. I enjoy reading, going to operas, orchestral concerts, art galleries, and strolling around the park. I am in love with my boyfriend and we are in a long distance relationship. I have a dog who I consider as being my little fur baby which keeps my occupied as well. =0D

  16. I love pencil skirts- you look great! So chic! I didn't know you planned events for a living! I would love to do that!

  17. Love the gray story in this outfit. I am Chinese illiterate too, but have never heard of that term. I can understand some but can not speak a word.

  18. Hahah...so funny...that's a great nutshell you put yourself in.

Well you pretty much know almost everything about me if you follow my blog. I work in Accounting...for an ex - Microsoft millionaire who owns 9 of the best golf courses in the Pacific Northwest but secretly I'd really want to get into the wedding industry. Which is why I think your job is awesome. I'm not sure if you focus on weddings, but I'd love to work as a coordinator somewhere.

  20. What a great post topic, Lisa! Thanks so much for sharing about yourself and encouraging us to do the same.

Let's see...I'm a hapa gal who recently turned 25. Born and raised in SoCal, but have lived on the East Coast for 8 years (and 4 as a kid). I fit in better on the East Coast, which means I'm type A, anal retentive, relentlessly competitive, and think of speed limits as "suggestions." I could eat sushi and crabcakes and drink frappucinos for the rest of my life. Book-lover by nature, but I get paid to do write reports and crunch numbers for the big shots. And I wish I had piano lessons as a child, or that I could sing. Hoping desperately for an English bulldog.

I like the belt against the gray skirt.:D

  22. I love your post today! It was nice getting to know you in a nutshell :-)
I have the same Anthro top and it's called "Naked Eye Sweater". Hope that helps!

  23. This is a super cute outfit! Its very put together, and I love those shoes! Thanks for sharing! Uh, let's see, some things I can say, I'm a son and husband, I work with computers for a living, at times my life is probably a hot mess, I love traveling, fashion, and horrible genre movies. Hope that's not too much! :)

  24. Perfection.

I'm Carrie. I'm Canadian, but living in Southern California. Every year I visit Canada I feel less and less in tune with my family. I wonder what that means. I'm an executive recruiter - we are STILL in a recession despite what the govt/news tries to convince us of otherwise. I've always loved shoes. Got my first little quarter inch clog at age 8. I love to bake. I have to stop eating it. I don't know if I want kids either - and I have no clue what growing up even is.

    xoxo,
    Carrie

  25. Great outfit. I like the visual interest of the added belt too. I am: Grandaughter, daughter, sister, wife, friend, wardrobe styling entrepreneur, high-heel loving, sweet eating, gym addicted, blogging addict.

  26. Aw, you're all great - thanks so much for sharing bits about yourselves, either in comments or on your own blogs. It's like a blogee version of speed-friending!

Collette - I'm bowing down to you. I can't spend 10 hours in a plane by myself, I can't imagine how you keep your kids occupied! But I guess Hawaii is a good enough reward!

Jen - aw, congrats on getting married, you're close to your big one year anniversary! Holy cow, you've met Chuck Bass! You must tell us! ;o)

Louise - I think most of us gals are probably born mildly OCD - either that or the messy men in our lives make us that way because we have to pick up after them all the time!

Pamela - ah, control issues, me too. I've been told I worry too much and pick everything over with a fine-toothed comb - but if I'm not all over it, how else will it get done right (i.e., exactly the way I want it to be done)?! ;o)

Aw, thanks much, Meli22. I've never found those Anthro dresses that look like separates to fit right. Much better (and cheaper) to make up your own!

Melissa - holy cow, woman, you are not boring. You're a mom AND a career woman which in themselves are two super-difficult things! I can't juggle my own time, I can't imagine having to juggle little ones too!

Jenny - loved your post! And that outfit pick of yours today - the boots are HOT!

    Brittany - thanks so much!

20 York Street - I always love finding out more about fellow bloggers, especially within out little community. I totally understand that some folks like to maintain their privacy, but I appreciate the sharing (and all the fashionable inspirations) nonetheless!

    Aw, thanks, curls-and-pearls!

Ashley - gravy is one of my favorite food groups. In fact, I think my gravy low-light is on right now!

    Thanks, Blondie & Tricia!

Closet Crisis - welcome back from your mini blogee break! Thanks much!

Banhannas - holy moly, you are not boring, you're smart and cultured!

Oh Peggy, no you wouldn't! :o)

Couture and Crayons - I always feel stupid when I go to a Chinese restaurant or something and the waiters who are Chinese will sometimes give me a Chinese menu and start pointing at the specials. Oh boy ...

Cindi - ooh, I used to work for an ex-MS millionaire too - two of them, in fact! Oh the money those people have made by just getting in early ...

    Thanks, Fashion Meets Food.

Jamie - yep, you sound like a Yankee alright! ;o) It's alright, I lived in NYC most of my life, so I'm exactly the same way. Speed limits? Psstahh!

    Thanks, Marie!

Kim - thanks so much for the sweater name! Alright, I wouldn't have guessed that name in a million years, but I'm looking at my top all sorts of new ways now.

Matt - hey, hot mess is good, it keeps things interesting!

Carrie - I think it just means you're growing up and becoming more of your own person! Ooh recruiter - I hope a million resumes didn't just land in your inbox!

Callandra - I want to hear more about this "wardrobe styling entrepreneur!" And gym-addicted, I wish I was so lucky!

  27. I'm a kook too! Love your outfit!

  28. We are so similar--except I do know what I want to be (or am). I love my job as a teacher although today was a challenging day. Kids. :)

I'm loving the soft colors in your outfit today.

  29. Cute post Lisa. I also like going to places, but definitely hate getting there! I cannot stand long drives (unless it is incredibly scenic) or airplane rides. I don't exactly know what I want to be when I grow up either. I've been teaching ever since I graduated from college, but one day I'd like to try doing something else! I wish I had a more gregarious personality, but I tend to be very reserved, which unfortunately can be interpreted as being snobbish (which I am definitely not). I'm much more of a listener than a talker. I love wine, but unfortunately I get tipsy & goofy real fast. I'm learning how to say no and feel OK about it. :)

    You look cute as always!

  30. I love this outfit on you, color, fit, everything!

Another Taiwanese-born Chinese-illiterate here! :P It's so sad though, because my Chinese used to be decent. But over time, it's sadly deteriorated =/

  31. wow, I think I need to get a workhorse grey pencil skirt in my clothes arsenal STAT! This is a great chic outfit.

I'm also Chinese illiterate and I'm so sad (esp when I go to Chinese restaurants and can't read off the Chinese menu I want to eat off!) Actually, seems like we have a lot of things in common - down to the freckles! although I've somewhat come to terms with mine ;)

    thanks for the great post!

  32. I love this sleek and polished look on you, Lisa!

And lately I've been wondering "who I am" too. I've slowly morphed into a type B personality over the past few years and I think it's still evolving...

  33. Love hearing more about you. And we are one in the same when it comes to trashy tv and being milding ocd! Love the top you're wearing today too!

  34. Luv what you shared, so fun to read!! And great outfit with fun pics as usual.

    In a nutshell, I:
Am a daughter, sister, girlfriend. A German living in Canada who is in love with a Chinese boy and obsessed with France. As you can see, I'm very muli-cultural, lol! I secretly eat Nutella with a spoon and let my kitty lick milk off the tip of my fingers. I am a neat freak and germ-o-phobic. I love humidity because I think it makes me look young and dewy. And it adds volumes to my fine limp hair. :)

  35. I love this sophisticated and ladylike look! I especially love the pattern of your top!

  36. This looks so great on your figure - I love how polished this outfit is - super pretty! And really fun to read about you in a nutshell! And since I feel compelled to talk everyone into having kids...you only regret the ones you don't have ;) (Says the girl who CANNOT decide for the life of her whether or not to have *just one more*)

  37. Another impeccable ensemble Lisa. You should add goofball and photographer to your equation.

On a good day. I'm reasonable, likable, sometimes ditzy, truthful, work best with men, yet best friends with women I work with, a problem solver (I was once told I attack a problem like a Pitbull), easily bored, extremely OCD, I am my own worst critic, not a TV watcher, or a movie go-er, happiest when online shopping or blogging. What else! I won't mention me on a bad day. Laura
