When Green is All There is to Be

Thanks for all your feedback on yesterday's post, ladies! It feels really good for me to hear from you gals that you like what I write and enjoy my wee little blog as one of your reads. I responded to most of your suggestions in the comments section of that post - thanks again for being such a lovely blogee community! Virtual hugs to everyone.

Here's my OOTD, wrinkles and all. And looking at my photos now - holy crap was/is my dress too short! What's a girl to do after the fact?

"Uh, hi BF. Oh, what am I doing? Um ..."

Dress: Forever 21 silk solid floral (no longer online, check stores - item 74712553022)
Belt: Anthropologie City Safari (worn here and here before)
Shoes: Indigo by Clarks Finch (worn here before)
Bracelets: Old Navy enamel & J. Crew studded

Now I'm no Anthro-ficionado by any means (I think that title may very well go to Anjali, whom I have yet to see fail at recalling the proper name for even the most obscure Anthropologie items), but noticed a couple of inspired-by looks available currently at the Nordstrom pre-fall Anniversary sale of some by-gone styles. So maybe if you've missed out on the original, these replacements may help heal that fashion hole in your heart, haha.

aka a shorter Elodie Lily cardigan

aka the non-sheer Guinevere Recital cardigan sans wrap

aka a more prominently floral Tabitha Beribboned Buds cardigan (and in more colors!)

I love that green on you and the whole outfit has a punch to it with that safari belt. Love it!

  2. I don't think that dress is too short! I like that purple cardigan. Even though I have the Recital cardigan, I may have to check this one out. Thanks!

  4. Hey, Lisa! Thanks for your sweet comment on my blog! I just read your previous post and I honestly don't have any suggestions. I love how candid you are and how you incorporate outfit posts with your sense of humor and fun stories :)

  10. LOL, thanks for the shoutout Lisa. I don't know if I'm really that good :) Perhaps just a little bit obsessive when it comes to Anthro though ;) Those are some awesome alternatives you spotted though! Nordstrom invariably always has a bunch of Anthro looking stuff for cheaper, sometimes almost exact copies!

  11. Great Nordie finds!

Why do you always find such cute F21 things!!!
That dress is so pretty and so cute on. I've had that happen where you put something on, look in the mirror and feel it's okay but then later start to second guess the length. Oh well. Worse crimes have been committed :)

  14. That color green is so pretty on you! And I wouldn't bat an eyelength at the length, either.

  18. Thanks, ladies!

I don't think that the dress technically is too short, but I think all dresses typically rise up during the day, especially if you belt them, and mine definitely felt like it did some of that, so let's just say I didn't do much overhead work today (not that do anyways, but you know what I mean ...) I guess it's a comfort-level thing too, huh.

Thanks for visiting, Jessica, Jammer, Melissa and Linda!

Thanks so much for following, Londyn (I love your name, BTW!)

Thanks, goldenmeans - I know these Anthro-offs are a topic of debate in the Anthro community, but I kind of think it's cool. It's another chance for folks to grab something that's either sold out or they couldn't afford the first time or sometimes even an improvement on the original (sometimes).

    Thanks, Tippy!

Pamela - I think you mean that I have yet to commit worse fashion crimes. But I know me, and they'll come ...

  19. Definitely not too short! But it's interesting how pictures rather than mirrors seem to shed a new level of self-enlightenment.

I'm a new follower! I saw your post about the virtues of yellow shoes on Jan's blog, and I thought, "now here's a kindred spirit." I started blogging a few weeks back and I have a pair of yellow Anne Klein shoes that make it into a lot of posts! Feel free to check them out!
