Jump Around

Topic-jumping, that is. When you can't put one complete thought together to help fill in a post, so you throw down all your half-(witted) thoughts? That's me today with my own version of blogging ADD:

"Party's here!" Please tell me I am not the only person super-excited about the new season of Jersey Shore premiering tonight. TONIGHT! I mean, I think I already get the gist of the entire season (GTL, copious amounts of fist pumping, cat fights, grenades in the pool, and I think Snooki and Vinny hook up - have I missed anything?) but I can't help but to want to watch every episode. If you're going to do trashy reality TV, why no go over-the-top and let it be fun and funny, eh?

...

Attention shopaholics: If any of you gals do as much unnecessary online window shopping as I do, here's a potentially timesaving new tool for you: Shop It To Me. I know they've already made their rounds in the blogosphere but I really think the site is kind of a cool concept. Shop It To Me lets you pick your clothing preferences and fave retailers, then sends you e-mails when stuff in your categories go on sale. So it does the sale searching for you - time saver YES and shopping enabler DEFINITELY. The e-mails are pretty extensive though, but they include pics, prices and links (plus it is free to sign up, and free is good).

...

Boden's fall collection is officially out. And from now until August 2nd, get 12% off new stuff and free shipping with code "G969." Loads of yummy knits and tweeds and warm autumn colors - now why don't they have petite sizing already?!

...

And miscellany aside, here's my OOTD:

Gotta have some silliness in your pics, right?

Top: Martin & Osa v-neck button cuff tee (worn here before)
Skirt: Anthropologie Edme & Esyllte Royal Poinciana (worn here and here and here before)
Belt: J. Crew metallic skinny
Necklace: Anthropologie Nueva Granada (worn here and here and here before)
Shoes: Vince Camuto (worn here and here before and ...)

Well that's what I wore to an informal vendor meeting this morning, anyways. For some reason I didn't feel completely comfy though, so I ended up spending the rest of the day like this:

Shorts: J. Crew Brigitte gingham poplin (now on sale - worn here and here before)
Shoes: Indigo by Clarks Finch (on super-sale - worn here and here and here before)

  1. Aw I had that skirt and returned it. Now I want it back! And I have the new Boden catalog in my hot little hands as I type this (well I set it down to type this, but you know what I mean!)

  2. Fist pump to Jersey Shore. I didn't get into the first season until it was almost over but I'm sure I'll be following this season! I'm going to the Korean grocery store, making some Kimchee ramen tonight and dvr-ing the first epy tonight!

  3. Loving that skirt!
The return of Jersey Shore is the talk of, well, the Jersey Shore.
I feel like you can't help but watch it...it's the biggest train wreck since all the Real Housewives shows!

Oh, and nice to see a shot of your gorgeous face! :)

  4. I love that skirt on you!!!

I recently discovered Shop It To Me and I can tell you I DEFINITELY look forward to those emails! My only complaint is that most of the items I covet are available on sale at places that don't ship to Canada! Boo!

LOL have fun watching Jersey Shore - I was so into the Hills before but I couldn't get past 5 minutes of Jersey Shore!

  5. Kathleen - isn't some of Boden's stuff just gorgeous! I've already got tons of little paper folds in my catalog from stuff I want.

Cindi - ooh, kimchi ramen sounds good. What is this kimchi ramen and how do I acquire some? If I go to the local Korean mart, will they know?

    Aw, thanks, Eleanor!

Eleanor / curls-and-pearls - I think I enjoy Jersey Short more than most because most of those kids are really from Staten Island, and my closest cousins grew up there too. Now if you envision an Asian version of Snooki, my cousin J would be she.

  7. Lisa - i love your ootd! that skirt is so cute, and i love how you paired it with the navy martin & osa top! i don't watch jersey shore probably mainly b/c we don't have cable, but if we did... yeah, i'd most likely be all over that! what can i say? i'm shamelessly a sucker for reality tv.

i've used to get shop it to me emails, but decided to unsubscribe. i felt like it caused me to window shop 954932084203294 times more than before i got those emails. :/ if i had had money at the time to spend on clothes, it would hve been a way more useful tool for me. it really is great!

  9. I like both of your outfits, especially that skirt! Thanks for reminding me about Boden. I haven't looked at their stuff in awhile, so I'm going to browse their Fall stuff. :-)

  10. I love both your outfits, especially the skirt and shorts. I've been really into red gingham lately, and shorts are a fun medium to try the pattern out.

I've never seen Jersey Shore before, but Snooki's existence does make me chuckle. You are right, reality shows are fun when it's absolutley ridiculous, which is probably why I was so fascinated with Kourtney and Khloe. Might have to catch an episode or two of JS this season.

  11. PS I just had to do the word verification for my above comment, and it was "dookyboo." That is probably the most hilarious combination I've seen yet, and just had to share. :)

  13. Forget what I said about being over those shorts - seeing them on you, it just opens old wounds - SO CUTE! And I love that skirt, it's such a pretty, classic print and great length - looks perfect on you!

  14. I cannot wait for Jersey Shore tonight! although, the fact that it's in Miami is kinda disappointing bc we won't see as many "guidos" down there.

Project Runway starts tonight, too! My DVR is going to explode!!!

    Cute outfit, as always.

  18. I love this OOTD -- the Nueva Granada necklace works perfectly with the skirt.

And thanks so much for the Shop It To Me tip. i spend way too much time window shopping, so I might need to check it out!

  19. I'm for silliness. It bring a nice balance to the seriousness of fashion. Just kidding. It's all fun! Love that skirt!

  20. Thanks for visiting, Amanda (AB Home Interiors)! If you like rich colors and cozy fabrics, definitely check out Boden!

Thanks, Amy! Those SITM e-mails are definitely long! I changed my settings to receive emails weekly and cut back on selected retailers because the emails themselves got overwhelming!

You can always crack me up, Kcookski! I guess I was wanting the "freedom" of shorts!

Debbie - they're dangerous, I kind of want one of everything. I like that they list measurements too, so I'm not always guessing on sizes.

Sidwalk Chalk - I think reality TV is a nice outlet to watch OTHER people's drama, as long as they're not taking themselves too seriously (ahem, Danielle from RHONJ). The word verifications always crack me up too!

Thanks, Stylestance, Melissa, Liz and Marie!

Thanks, Jan. Sorry these shorts didn't work out for you - but they're on sale currently, maybe give them another chance? :o) Or they'll always be more cute clothes in your future!

Pamela - This is one time I thanked the TV gods for showing the same episode back-to-back - I was able to catch both the Jersey Shore (those folks are ridonkerous, but I like that they seem to be completely aware of it) and Bethenny (she is like a one-woman stand-up routine sometimes too).

Thanks, Jamie - like Aimee said, it may (heck it definitely will) increase your window shopping - now all the shops are just (virtually) on the same street!

Thanks, Cat. I can't ever take myself too seriously when I take my pics. I'm always making some sort of silly face or end up doing a ridiculous pose or something. And sometimes those poses make it onto a post ...

  21. Haha well, I just get any type of spicy ramen in the package...even some soy flavored ones. And I get kimchee on the side and add it in. There's a huge Korean market near my house, they also sell frozen mandoo, which are like little dumplings, which I also added. Then I add an egg...and voila! I typically add water, bring it up to a boil, then add the flavoring packets from the ramen and the kimchee together to boil a bit so the kimchee softens before adding the noodles in. The noodles cook so fast and I don't like them super soft. Hope this helps!!!

  22. I love both! That skirt is so pretty and love it with the basic black.

  23. I love that you occasionally show your face; you are so darn cute! This outfit is purty, and I think you should repeat it =)
